Meet Bucko! The buck in the yellow jumper is now in the app. He waves you through onboarding, cheers when the week gets paid out, sulks when a point is taken away, and turns up in Kids Mode, Smart Streaks and every empty screen. Also in 1.8: • A fresh splash screen and a new look for the Android widgets • Cleaner empty states and alerts throughout • Small fixes and polish Free for one kid. Bucko Pro unlocks unlimited kids and chores, Family Sync and iCloud Backup, with a 7-day free trial.

This one's for every parent who tapped the big button and nothing happened. • Fixed: the reward button could get stuck in Save Up mode — points wouldn't go up or down no matter how hard you tapped. Your kid's real balance was safe the whole time, and it'll show correctly the moment you open the app. • Fixed: streaks and Smart Streak windows now follow YOUR time zone. (They were quietly running on Sydney time. Apologies to every kid whose "morning" chores unlocked at dinner.) • The payout screen now shows everything you're about to pay — including weeks you forgot to close out — so there are no surprises when you hit Pay & Reset. • Family Sync is tougher: changes made offline now sync when you're back online, two phones can't overwrite each other, and family codes are stronger. (Existing codes still work.) • Faster all round: quicker launch, snappier taps, and a smaller download. Do the chore. Tap the button. Get paid Sunday.

What's new in 1.7 • All-new onboarding — shorter, friendlier, and hands-on: try your kid's reward button before you even finish setup • Rewards mode grows up: create prize goals (movie night, screen time…) and point values now match everywhere • Weekly payout fixes — paying out after the weekend no longer shows $0, and missed weeks can now be marked paid properly • Family Sync is more reliable and more secure — devices catch up automatically after being offline • Forgot your parent PIN? Unlock with Face ID or your passcode • Changed your kid's animal? It now updates everywhere, including the payout screen • Home screen widgets now show the right numbers in Rewards mode • Lots of visual polish for the Paper theme, plus accessibility improvements throughout

Bucko has a fresh new look! Meet the Paper theme — a warm, sticker-book style straight from getbucko.com, with soft paper backgrounds, ink outlines and sunny yellow buttons. Find it under Settings → Theme (it's free for everyone), or stick with the classic deep-space look — switching is instant. Also in this update: • Bug fix for iPad that was stopping you from seeing all streak chores after a long press. • Family Sync fix — points now stay perfectly in step across all your devices. Changes made while a phone or iPad was closed or offline are caught up automatically the next time the app opens. • No more cooldown on the reward button in parent view — add or remove several points in a row. • 55 new chore icons with smarter search — from fish tanks to lawn mowers.

We've added a whole new look! You can now choose a light and bright 'paper' theme in settings. Check it out!

You can now keep going beyond a single week, and just keep racking up those points! Cash out when you're ready to pay, no need to reset each week. But you can still keep the weekly reset if you like. New icons added for even more fun. General bug fixes and fine tuning. We hope you and the kids are enjoying Bucko!

What's new in 1.4.0 • Cash or rewards — choose how points work for your family. Show real dollars, or go cashless with generic points (1¢ = 1 pt). • Custom rewards — set kid-specific goals like "Movie night — 5000 pts" and let them work toward something concrete. • Smarter Smart Streaks — the streak badge is now tappable, and the main button always gives +1 (no more accidental streak ticks). • Widget fix — Pro animal avatars (chicken, fox, and 19 others) now render correctly in the home-screen widget. • Polish across onboarding, settings copy, and end-of-week messaging.

WHAT'S NEW: A smoother start and a few things that were bugging us. Smart Streaks — Set a time window (say, "bedtime, every night") and Bucko automatically ticks the streak when you tap the reward button during that window. No extra steps, no forgetting. It's the easiest way to build consistent routines and have it show up in their earnings. Better onboarding — The setup now walks you through a proper practice round: tap the big button, try the minus mode, and tweak your kids' chore payouts before you even start. Nothing is locked in until you hit "Let's go!" Clearer guided tour — When the app shows you around Settings for the first time, it now spotlights exactly the section it's talking about so there's no guessing. Polish — New icons in Settings, visual fixes in Kids View, and a few copy tweaks throughout.

What's New Bucko now knows when your kids are on a roll. Weekly Streaks — mark any chore as a streak and set a weekly target. Bucko tracks their progress with a live dot trail: tap every day, hit the goal, earn the reward. Miss too many days and the streak resets. It's the same gentle pressure that makes habit apps work, built right into your chore routine.
