Guitar Memos
Riff recorder & chord finder
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Play a riff once and Guitar Memos writes the chords for you. Record an idea, and chord blocks appear on a timeline, on the beat, with your lyrics underneath. Everything runs on your iPhone: your audio is never uploaded and there is no account to create.
RECORD A RIFF, GET THE CHORDS
• One tap to record, as many takes as you want
• On-device chord recognition: 41 chord types, from sus2 to 7alt, ninths, elevenths and thirteenths included
• Blocks line up with your strums and the beat, each chord in its own colour
• Pinch to zoom, drag the handles to trim, hold a chord to swap it
• Swipe a take to rename, delete or analyse it again
SONGWRITER: FROM TAKE TO CHORD SHEET
• Sing over your guitar: Guitar Memos separates the voice and transcribes the words in the language you sing
• Song form detected: intro, verse, chorus, bridge and outro, and you can change, split or merge any section
• A chord sheet with the lyrics under the right chord, or chords only, bar by bar
• Every word stays editable; export as PDF, ChordPro or text
CHROMATIC TUNER
• Cents, Hz, note and octave, with needle, strobe and more display modes
• Guitar (6 and 7 strings), bass (4, 5 and 6), ukulele, banjo and mandolin
• Standard, drop and open tunings
CHORDS AND SCALES YOU CAN PLAY
• Strum any chord by sliding across the strings, with a real guitar sound
• Tap any note of a scale or the fretboard and hear positions run up and down
• Chords, scales, positions and inversions in every key
METRONOME
• Presets, tap tempo and haptics you can feel
• Controls on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island while it plays
