A new film between dream and waking: REM
- New film: REM
Named after REM sleep, it captures the world as you see it half-awake, when dream and reality start to blur. Built on the unreal mood of dreamcore, it adds cool tones, a soft glow, and film grain, and eases back sharp colors and detail so light and color gently bleed together, like a scene you're sure you saw but can't quite recall. Works for both photos and video.
- New and Popular tabs
New and Popular tabs now appear in the camera's film drawer, the editor, and the full film list. New gathers the latest films, newest first, and Popular gathers the films people shoot most.
- Smarter picks
Tap the aperture button and it recognizes people, food, and scenery more accurately, then suggests the film that suits them. On iPhone, scenes it used to miss, like food or buildings, are now picked up too. The same eye picks films for your photos in the editor.
- Smoother while it looks
While it's looking, a small indicator appears, and once it's done, suggestions fade in gently. We also fixed cards appearing to change as the suggestions came up.
- Settings frames that fit your photo
When you share a photo with its shot settings, the frame now follows your photo's aspect ratio, square or landscape. No more photo stuck to one edge looking cropped, just even borders all around.
