Mente: Therapy Practice
Session Notes & Scheduling
Free · In‑App Purchases
Mente is made for psychologists and psychotherapists in private practice, with individual clients, couples and families. Your schedule, session notes, treatment plans, client documents and payments stay on your iPhone or iPad. There's no account to create, and client records never pass through our servers.
Your day
Today's sessions appear on a timeline, with the breaks between them and the time you still have free. Today's priorities lists what's waiting: tasks due, unpaid sessions and notes you've started. Book one-off or recurring sessions, and Mente suggests times within your working hours.
Couples and families
A client can be one person, a couple or a family, with one shared record. Each person has their own role and contact details, and every minor has an adult guardian. You choose who took part in each session, and a note can be about everyone or about one person.
The record holds sessions, notes with their earlier versions, plans and objectives, tasks and life events. Search covers every client.
Documents for the first session
Mente includes a privacy notice, a professional services agreement and an intake and history form, plus an agreement for couples and families and a consent form for each minor. It fills them in on your device from the details you've saved and puts them into one PDF, which you read before sharing. Mente records when a document was shared, but keeps no completed PDFs, answers or signatures.
Messages and payments
Write an appointment message, check it and send it from your own email or messaging app. Mente never sends anything by itself. Set prices for evaluation, consultation and emergency sessions. A paid session keeps the price it was paid at, so new rates don't change past months.
Your data
Sensitive data is encrypted on the device. Mente opens only with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode, and locks again 30 seconds after you leave it. You can export a password-protected .mente backup, CSV tables or a PDF report for one client at any time.
Free and Pro
Everything above is free, but your records stay only on your phone until you back them up yourself. With Pro, backup runs on its own and there is less admin to do. On the monthly plan, you can try Mente Pro free for 30 days. Mente Pro adds:
• Encrypted iCloud backup with a Recovery Key, which also keeps your iPhone and iPad in sync
• A PDF payment statement with a client's unpaid sessions and your bank account
• A preparation card before each session and a list of sessions still missing a note
• SOAP, DAP, BIRP, CBT, ACT, DBT, EMDR and other note formats, and your own templates
• Your own message templates, send reminders and a log of prepared messages
• Editable documents with your logo and services, and earlier versions to go back to
• Two-way sync with a calendar on your device, such as iCloud, Google or Exchange
• The complete timeline of each client
If Pro ends, your records stay on the device and the free features keep working. iCloud backup and calendar sync pause until you renew.
Mente is a tool for administration and documentation. It doesn't diagnose, recommend treatment or provide emergency services.
Mente uses Contacts only when you import a client, Calendar only for calendar sync and iCloud only for iCloud backup.

more New note templates (Mente Pro). The template library now has 22 formats. Five new clinical formats: Termination summary, Supervision note, Between-session contact, Couple or family session and Child or adolescent session. Four new approaches: schema therapy, humanistic-experiential, solution-focused and motivational interviewing. The existing templates were checked against the standard structure of each format: ACT now covers all six Hexaflex processes, DBT starts from the diary card and target behaviors, and EMDR adds body sensations and closing the session.
Intervention plans. You can also choose the four new approaches as the plan’s methodology.
Breaks between sessions. If the time you pick overlaps the break you set before or after a session, Mente tells you and asks whether to keep it. The setting is now called Breaks before and after sessions.
Also in this version:
• When you move a session to another time, Mente no longer reports it as overlapping itself.
1.35.1 3h ago
Income report (Mente Pro). In Overview, choose this month or last month, this quarter, this year or last year, or a custom range, and see for each currency what you collected, what is outstanding and how many sessions you held, followed by your clients. Share the report as a PDF or CSV; before that, you choose whether clients appear with full names or initials only. It contains no notes and is not a tax document.
Session confirmations (Mente Pro). Before each session you get a notification, and Send opens the confirmation message, already written. You check it and send it yourself, or choose Skip if no confirmation is needed. You set the time for each client in Edit client, under Default notification: 1 hour, 1 day or 2 days before, or a custom time. New clients get the time chosen in Settings › Notifications, where you can also turn these notifications off. Notifications don’t arrive at night: one due between 22:00 and 07:00 comes at 21:00 the evening before.
Your Mente Pro plan. In Settings, View plan under the Mente Pro card opens your current plan. Change plan sits right below it, and Manage in App Store opens your subscriptions. If you move to Lifetime, Mente tells you before and after the purchase that your subscription isn’t canceled automatically, and takes you straight to it so you don’t pay twice.
Also in this version:
• The Session Notes field in the session form is now called Comments, so it isn’t mistaken for your clinical notes.
• The Mente Pro card in Settings is more compact, with a shorter line about backup.
• In Overview, paid and outstanding amounts also show how many sessions they cover.
1.35.0 1d ago
Payment statements can now be sent from the places where you see what is owed. In Today’s priorities, the menu of an unpaid session has Send Payment Statement, between the payment request and Mark as Paid. The payment notification has a Send Payment Statement button as well.
Mente Pro in Settings. The Mente Pro card says briefly what it adds: automatic iCloud backup, payment statements and session preparation. If the App Store offers you a free trial, you see it under the title. See everything in Pro opens the full list, even before you buy.
Without Mente Pro, you also see the rows that need Pro. The post-session documentation inbox lists the sessions to close and note, with the Pro badge. Previewing a note template shows Add to Favorites and Use as default, and Calendar Sync shows the options you choose with Pro. Today’s priorities counts only what you can open without Pro.
The plans screen says what the action you came from unlocks. The annual plan also shows what it comes to per month. Below the plans you see the seller and a line about your records: with Pro they still stay on your device, and the backup is encrypted before it goes to iCloud.
Also in this version:
• On first launch, if the App Store offers you the free trial, Mente tells you that you can try Mente Pro from Settings.
• The backup card in Schedule and the welcome screen say what is included and what Mente Pro adds.
• Without Mente Pro, the message sheet shows Save to the client’s history and Remind me later as rows with the Pro badge.
• Prepare on the session card carries the Pro badge, and after you buy, session preparation opens.
• Save as New Template in the note menu and the By client list in Overview show that they need Mente Pro.
• With Mente Pro, the confirmation after saving a life event no longer starts with “With Mente Pro”.
• Corrected Spanish text.
1.34.0 5d ago
Mente now supports the new iPhone Duo and uses the whole screen on both iPad and iPhone Duo.
Schedule. On iPad and on iPhone Duo's large screen, Schedule shows the day, the week or the month. The day fills the width as on iPhone, one text size larger so it reads well from further away, with Prepare and each session's menu right next to the session. The week lays out your sessions on an hour grid, and tapping a session opens a menu to write its note, open the record, edit the session, send its details or show the day. The month lists each day's sessions. Swipe left or right to move between weeks and months.
Clients. On iPad and iPhone Duo, Clients is a table you can sort by name, next session, status, sessions, price or what is left unpaid.
On iPhone as well, the day now reads as one unbroken line, from the first session to Find a time, which tells you how long you stay free. A break long enough for another session offers Schedule, which looks for a time starting at that break, and each weekday above the day shows its short name instead of a single letter.
Settings. Every page slides in from the side, and Back takes you one step at a time, even when you arrive from elsewhere in the app, such as a session's practice location. In Mente Pro, iCloud backup and Calendar sync open in the same window, and an active subscription shows Manage subscription.
Also in this version:
• During a session, Write note sits on its card in Schedule, so you can start the note before the session ends (with Mente Pro).
• While you write a note on iPad, the client's open objectives, pending tasks and life events to follow up stay beside it. Hide them with the button at the top.
• With a keyboard on iPad, the Session menu adds a session (⌘N), finds a time (⌥⌘N), goes to today (⌘T), moves back and forth (⌘← and ⌘→) and switches between day, week and month (⌘1 to ⌘3).
• On iPhone Duo, the bars follow the screen: actions stay within reach at the edge, and when Duo is half folded, the week and month leave the fold free.
• On iPad and iPhone Duo, the + for a new session or client stands out in the accent colour.
• A wrong password when importing a .mente file now shows inside the password window, which stays open so you can try again, also when setting up a new device.
• If Mente locks while your new Recovery Key is on screen, the same key appears again after you unlock. The copy saved for sharing is deleted as soon as you close the share window.
• Switching to another app for a moment no longer cancels a backup you are saving or importing; only locking Mente does.
• A .mente file opened from another app and iCloud messages wait until you close what you are editing, instead of appearing behind it.
• Keyboard shortcuts and Home Screen quick actions wait until Mente is unlocked.
1.33.0 6d ago
Two things change in this version: what happens to your sessions when you change calendars, and how filters look.
Calendar Sync. If you choose another calendar for Calendar Sync, your sessions now appear in the new one too. The previous calendar keeps the events it already has, and sessions that came from events in your own calendars stay linked to those events and are never copied.
Filters. In Clients, in search, in a client's Record, Intervention and Profile, and in Overview, filters now look the same and work the same way. When a filter is on, you see it under the title; tap it to change it or clear it. In Profile, under Payments, the period you choose applies to paid sessions, while the outstanding balance always counts every unpaid session, whatever its date.
Also in this version:
• On iPhone, today's priorities on Schedule now say what they are, for example 1 session to prepare, 2 tasks and 4 more.
• Sessions on Schedule are easier to read: the time, the name and the menu sit on one line, and breaks appear halfway between two sessions.
• Search results are the same size as the rows in Clients.
• When you set up a new device, starting with new data and restoring from iCloud or a .mente file are on the same screen. A backup found in iCloud shows when it was made, and closing the restore summary cancels the restore.
1.32.1 Oct 17
New in Mente Pro: payment statements. In a client's Profile, under Payments, Payment statement lists every session that is still unpaid, however old, along with the ones paid in the period you choose. You can put your practice account on the page, check the PDF and send it with your message from the email or messaging app you already use. If you want, Mente adds a task to check a week later whether the payment has arrived. Once it has, tap Mark All as Paid and every session on the statement is marked paid at once, each at the price it has at that moment. Statements you've sent stay in the client's communication history.
In Overview, Outstanding now opens with a By client list: how many sessions each client still owes, and how much.
Your tax ID, bank account and bank can now be filled in under Professional details for a practice in any country. On the statement, the tax ID appears under the name your country uses for it.
For payments, a recurring series no longer counts as a single session. In the client's Record, Sessions shows each session up to today, and the figures under Payments and the CSV export count every one of them.
Syncing through iCloud between your devices is more dependable. Changes made on a device that was offline now reach your other devices, even if they have synced in the meantime. If two devices change the same thing at almost the same moment, the more recent change is kept instead of being overwritten by the older one. The first backup of a large practice from a new device now completes, and when your iCloud storage is full, Mente tells you.
1.32.0 Oct 16
This update is about two things: knowing where your data is, and seeing what Mente Pro includes.
Where your data is. Backup & restore now opens with a short summary: only on this iPhone, on this iPhone with the age of your last backup file, an encrypted copy in iCloud, or an iCloud copy that is no longer being updated. The Backup & restore row in Settings says the same.
A reminder that doesn't nag. When your clients and notes exist only on this iPhone, Schedule tells you, along with how many there are. You can hide the reminder for 30 days, and from the second time on you can turn it off for good. Saving a .mente file counts as a backup too, so after each one the reminder stays away for 30 days.
Mente Pro. When you subscribe from Settings, Mente Pro shows you right away what it includes: iCloud backup, calendar sync, client documents, offered services and templates, each one a tap away. The same list stays in Mente Pro, under your plan.
Also in this version:
• The privacy policy now also covers the heuristicapps.io website, its contact forms and email sign-up for Mente updates.
• The price of a paid session no longer carries a label saying where it came from.
• Backup and restore messages now always appear when you open Backup & restore from Mente Pro.
• Fixes for very large text sizes and for longer translations.
1.31.1 Oct 14
With Mente 1.31.0, now you can work with couples and families, not only with individual clients. This version also adds prices by session type and, for practices in Romania, a services contract based on the COPSI model.
Couples and families. When you add or edit a client, you can now choose Individual, Couple or Family. A couple or a family has one shared record with each person's details: role, date of birth, contact details and whether they receive messages. One of them is the contact person. Mente suggests who is a minor from the date of birth, and every minor needs at least one adult guardian. A child you see on their own can have guardians too. Sessions, notes, plans, documents and payments stay in the shared record, and search finds it by anyone's name.
Who came to the session. Sessions include everyone unless you choose otherwise. Under Participants you can pick only the people who are coming, say one partner or just the parents, for a single appointment or for a series from a given date onward. Your calendar shows the name of the couple or family.
Notes about each person. In a note you choose who it's about: everyone, or particular people. One session can have several notes, for example one about each partner and one about the couple. A PDF report for one person has the sessions they attended and the notes about them, and the shared notes only if you include them.
Messages and documents for each person. Under Recipients you choose who gets a message, and each person receives their own, addressed by first name. Minors are left out unless you add them. Documents such as the privacy notice or the intake form can be prepared for several people at once, each with their own PDF. A document about a minor is signed by their guardians. For a couple or a family, the first-session pack has a part for each person and ends with the couple or family agreement.
When someone leaves. If you remove someone, they move to Former members, and their name stays on past sessions, notes and messages. You can add them back later with the same history.
Prices by session type. In Settings you can set a price for Evaluation, Consultation and Emergency, and any session can have its own price. A paid session keeps the price it had when it was paid, so if you change your prices later, past months stay as they were.
For practices in Romania. Choose Romania as your practice country in your professional details and Mente adds the psychological services contract based on the COPSI model, with versions for couples and families, plus fields for your registration code, tax ID and bank account. Mente suggests the next contract number each time.
Couples and families, the new prices and the contract are free.
Before you update. Update Mente on all your devices on the same day. An older version shows a couple or family with the contact person only, and it can't import a backup made with 1.31.0.
Also in this version:
– Opening a .mente backup from Files or Mail no longer closes Mente.
– When you change the app language, every screen follows straight away.
– If a backup was made with a newer version of Mente, Mente tells you and asks you to update.
– Updated help (FAQ).
1.31.0 Oct 10
This update brings clearer calendar titles, a more reliable app lock and a cleaner look across Mente.
Calendar titles: When event titles show clients' initials, a session with its own title now reaches your calendar as "A.P - Initial assessment". If that title contains the client's name, Mente uses the default title instead, so the name doesn't show up. Events you created in your calendar keep their titles exactly as you typed them.
Not a session: Calendar appointments without a client now offer Not a session directly from the schedule, and Mente tells you if hiding one fails.
App lock: Face ID no longer starts while your iPhone is locking, and unlocking resumes as soon as you return to Mente.
A cleaner look: Labels are written more consistently, and confirmations that don't delete anything are no longer red. Onboarding, Settings, search results and Overview have a refreshed layout. With large text sizes, the Today button no longer cuts off the name of the day.
Backup & restore: The Backup & Sync section is now called Backup & restore, and Import from backup sits next to the local backup. Replacing the Recovery Key needs a single confirmation.
Also in this version:
– Note templates fill in your name from your professional details.
– A session opened from Today's priorities returns you to the same list.
– Turning on Calendar Sync without a chosen calendar opens the calendar picker right away.
– The Mente Pro screen lists the documentation features accurately.
– Updated help (FAQ).
1.30.1 Oct 4
This update brings the appointments from your own calendar into Mente and makes sync lighter on battery and data.
Your appointments, in Mente: With Calendar Sync on, the appointments you add or change in the calendar you chose become sessions in Mente. Mente recognizes the client from the title, by name or initials. When it isn't sure, the session appears in Today's priorities › From calendar, no client, with suggestions such as "Could it be Maria?". For appointments that were already in your calendar, use Settings › Calendar Sync › Import upcoming appointments. If an event isn't a session at all, choose Not a session: Mente hides it on all your devices and leaves it in your calendar.
Your events stay yours: Mente adds nothing technical to events you created. When you edit such a session, only the title, time, length, the address of an in-person session and, when Mente can repeat it exactly, the repetition change in the event. Your notes, links and invitees stay as they are, and canceling the session in Mente doesn't delete your event.
Names in your calendar: The first time you choose a calendar, you decide how clients appear in event titles: initials or full name. If you change this later, Mente updates its events without asking you to choose between the Mente and calendar versions.
Sync: Mente now syncs when there is something to sync: a change in the app or in the calendar you chose, not every change in your iPhone's calendars. The iCloud backup downloads much less data each time it checks, and sessions that come from your calendar always reach the backup. Mente no longer asks you to choose between Mente and Calendar when nothing changed in the calendar.
Also in this version:
- The calendar picker opens at full height, so you see every option.
1.30.0 Oct 3
This update makes Mente more stable and shows you how sync is doing.
Stability: We fixed the causes of several crashes. The most frequent one happened when the screen locked while Mente was syncing. Others could happen after deleting all data, when opening a client's plans or tasks, or when an imported note or backup contained the same item twice.
Sync: Under the Settings title you now see whether Mente is syncing and when it last finished, for example "Synced 2 minutes ago". Without an internet connection, sync no longer stops with an error: it waits and starts again by itself once you're back online. The gear button gets a small red dot only when something needs you. A restore from iCloud shows its progress above the bar at the bottom, even if you leave Settings.
Calendar: If you only allowed Mente to add events, Calendar Sync can't see the events it created, so it can't keep them up to date. Mente now tells you so in Settings › Calendar Sync and opens the iPhone Settings for you. There, tap Calendars and choose Full Access.
Also in this version:
- When you first set up Mente, it offers notifications after you restore a backup or skip setup too, not only when you start with new data.
1.29.6 Oct 2
This update cleans up the Clients and Settings screens.
Search: The search field above the client list is gone. To find a client, tap the magnifying glass next to Schedule, Clients and Overview. To search only one client's notes, sessions and tasks, open the client and tap ⋯ › Search Record.
Clients: Under the title you now see how many clients you have, and the letters on the right only appear once you have more than 10 clients. When you open a client, the name no longer jumps under the buttons at the top.
Settings: Calendar Sync now has its own row. The Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Data Deletion Instructions are together under Terms & Privacy. Several options have clearer names, such as Same as Device for the theme. The small text under each row is now grey, so the row names stand out.
Also in this version:
- iCloud sync no longer merges two different clients just because they have the same name.
- In a client's plans and tasks, the list starts right under the title, and you can tap anywhere on the filter row.
- The grey text under screen titles is easier to read.
1.29.5 Sep 30
This update fixes several things in recurring sessions, the calendar and restoring from iCloud.
Recurring sessions: If you had changed one session of a series on its own and later chose Delete Entire Series or Delete Through This Session, that session used to stay in your schedule. Now it's deleted with the series. And when you change a series with Save This And Future, the sessions you had moved one by one follow the new series, so you no longer see two sessions on the same day.
Calendar: Mente now deletes only a calendar it created itself. If you already had your own calendar named "Mente", turning off Calendar Sync offers to remove just Mente's events from it, and when you set things up, Mente suggests using that calendar instead of making a second one. Create Mente Calendar adds the calendar straight to your default calendar account.
Restore from iCloud: In Settings › Backup & Sync, if a client in the backup has the same name as a client on this device, you now get two separate clients, each with their own notes, tasks and plans. Before, some of that client's records could stay hidden. A session you deleted and then added again at the same time is kept, and if a restore can't finish, you can try again straight away.
Also in this version:
– A new Color Scheme in Display & Language applies to the whole app at once.
– In Find a time, when you pick another day with Confirm Date, you come back to Find a time for that day. Suggested times are rounded to 5 minutes, for example 15:45 rather than 15:43.
– Number keypads for phone numbers and prices have a Done button.
– In a life event, the Linked note list shows each note only once.
1.29.4 Sep 29
Your offline, local backups are now better protected.
A local backup holds your clients' records, so its password matters. When you create a new backup, Mente now asks for a password of at least 15 characters and turns down ones that are easy to guess: common words, names, dates or sequences like 1234. The simplest way: four unrelated words you choose yourself. You can show the password while typing to check it. Backups you already have still open with their original password.
Data & Export is easier to find your way around. There are three clear actions, Create Local Backup, Import from Backup and Export Data to CSV, each with one line that explains what it does. Messages tell you simply when a backup is being saved, when it's done, or if something went wrong. "Backup & Calendar" is now called "Backup & Sync".
Notes. If a note already has text, Mente asks before a template replaces it. In Version history, "Compare and restore" and "Delete Version" are now easy to spot.
Also in this version:
– In a client's Record, active filters appear under the title; tap them to change them.
– From Getting Started, add your first client or import them from Contacts straight from the button.
– In Overview, choosing Custom Range again reopens the date selection.
– Throughout the app: confirmations appear in the middle of the screen, delete buttons are plain red text, and titles are no longer cut off when you use larger text.
1.29.3 Sep 26
You can now choose a currency for each client.
When you add or edit a client, open Billing & Currency and pick a currency next to the session price. If you leave it on Default, the client uses the currency from Settings, as before. The currency you choose is used everywhere for that client: in their file, in the list of unpaid sessions, in payment reminders and messages, in the client PDF and in exports.
In Overview, amounts in other currencies are shown separately, under "Other currencies". Mente doesn't convert currencies or add up amounts in different currencies.
Exports. The CSV export shows a separate total for each currency. Objectives no longer show a percentage in the CSV or the PDF, only their status, just like in the app.
Backups. Backup files (.mente) made with this version can only be opened with the latest version of Mente, on iPhone, iPad or Android. Please update Mente on all your devices.
1.29.2 Sep 26
This update makes working in a client's file faster.
Intervention Plans are easier to follow. In a client's plans, the ones still in progress come first, and completed plans are grouped separately below them. Each plan is simpler to read: it shows when it started, how many objectives have been reached and whether it's completed. The diagnosis and methods stay inside the plan; when you search, the plan shows exactly the part that matches what you typed.
A faster client file. Clients with a long history open and respond more quickly. When you come back from a plan or a list, you're right where you left off, and switching between the Record, Intervention and Profile tabs is smoother, with each tab keeping its place. Saving a change no longer makes the list jump or go blank for a moment. Notes, tasks and plans now open from the Record with a smooth transition.
Small touches. In Schedule, the Prepare button sits next to the session's status when there's room. The buttons at the top of some screens are grouped more neatly. If the Mente Pro options can't be loaded from the App Store, you'll see a clear message and a Retry button.
Smoother overall. Notifications are now updated in the background after each change, so the app stays responsive, and today's schedule no longer shows zeros for a moment when you return to it.
1.29.1 Sep 24
A fresh new look. Mente has a calmer, warmer design: soft paper-like backgrounds, a deeper blue and elegant titles, in both light and dark mode. Animations are smoother, and if you use Reduce Motion, Mente now switches screens with gentle fades instead of turning animations off completely.
Your day at a glance. The Schedule tab shows "Today", "Tomorrow" or the day's name as its title, with how many sessions you have and when you're free. A new week strip at the top lets you swipe from one week to the next. Sessions appear on a timeline, with breaks and free time at the end of the day clearly marked. On a day without sessions, Mente tells you when your next one is. The next session you need to get ready for has a Prepare button.
Finding a free time is easier. The day now looks like a real calendar, with your sessions and your clients' names. Tap an empty spot, or hold the proposed session and drag it where you want. Suggested times now leave room for your preparation and follow-up time, and no longer skip free times earlier in the day.
On iPad, today's priorities appear in their own column next to your schedule.
Clients. The client list shows each client's next session under their name. A client's record now opens with their initials, when you started working together, the number of sessions and their status. Finalized notes read like a clean, tidy document.
Clearer progress. Plans now show how many objectives have been reached (for example, 2 of 3) instead of percentages.
Lock screen and Live Activities. The screen you see when Mente is locked has been redesigned. During a session, the Lock Screen and the Dynamic Island show the client's name (depending on your privacy settings), the time remaining and when the session ends.
A clearer Overview. Charts and figures are easier to read.
Fixes. A session marked as paid no longer switches back to unpaid after syncing with your calendar, and payment status is no longer written into calendar events.
1.29.0 Sep 24
A friendlier welcome
- The onboarding screens have been redesigned: a clearer introduction, a reminder that your data stays encrypted on your device, and a simpler path to start fresh or restore a backup. When restoring from iCloud, you now see what the backup contains and when it was made, and a Paste button fills in your Recovery Key in one tap.
Getting started, one step at a time.
- The guide on Home now shows a single step at a time, with helpful tips appearing inside a client record when it's time to write the first note or add the first task. When you're done, you can personalize your workspace from Settings whenever you like.
Siri and Shortcuts.
- Add a session, add a client, import from Contacts, or search Mente directly from Siri, the Shortcuts app, or Spotlight. Your client data never leaves the app.
A smoother Home.
- The selected date sits under the title, the day switcher stays in place while your agenda scrolls beneath it, and Today jumps to the session in progress. Sheets and client records open with smooth zoom transitions, and the tab bar tucks away as you scroll.
Better client list.
- Names read naturally in every language, sorting lives in the filter menu, and the alphabet index helps you jump straight to a client. More refined haptics throughout.
Thank you for using Mente!
1.28.0 Sep 17
A smoother start and practice setup: a new introduction welcomes you to Mente, and the guided setup on Home helps you configure your practice step by step, at your own pace.
More organized client files and sessions: client records and session forms are now easier to read, with neat collapsible sections for contact details, billing, and notes.
Session notes open automatically when they contain text, keeping your clinical notes readily accessible.
Creating a new client and scheduling their first session is quicker and more flexible.
Everyday practice refinements: easily search and select your preferred currency for session fees, enjoy clearer guidance when adding your professional profile or practice logo to documents, and experience improved readability and contrast throughout the app.
1.27.2 Sep 13
Now you can return to Mente within 30 seconds without unlocking the app again. Protected content stays hidden in the background; restarting the app or locking the device requires authentication again.
Long client names now fit better in lists and session cards without changing the saved names.
Search, client records, the timeline and Overview now discard outdated results when data or filters change.
PDF dossier and document preparation better handles cancellation and changes made before sharing.
1.27.1 Sep 11
This update brings a new layout to client records and a clearer interface throughout Mente, from reviewing a note to planning the next session.
Each client now has three areas: Record, Intervention and Profile. Record opens with notes and lets you switch to sessions, life events, plans, tasks or communication history. Each list has its own filters, and Mente remembers your place as you move between areas. The client list is grouped alphabetically, with filters for overdue tasks and unpaid sessions.
With Mente Pro, the complete timeline brings related records together without losing their dates. You can follow a note back to its linked session, open the plan behind an objective or revisit the note associated with a life event. Recurring appointments appear as individual sessions. A current summary highlights the latest completed session, overdue tasks, life events to follow up and the next objective deadline.
Intervention puts plans and tasks together. Plans show overall progress, objectives reached and clinical context. The next objective deadline opens the relevant objective directly. Completed and skipped tasks have separate, collapsible histories, and you can mark a task as done or reopen it from its row.
On Home, Focus brings together work for today, unresolved items and what is coming next. Tasks due today and overdue tasks are grouped separately, as are upcoming message reminders. You can move into preparation, documentation, payments or reminders and return to the same place after editing a note or session.
Note version restoration and viewing existing communication history are now free. Restoring a note creates a new editable draft and keeps finalized versions intact. Saving a finalized note leaves it open for review; deleting an older version no longer closes the note you are working on. Message preparation now guides you through the purpose, template and appointment selection before you review and share the text.
We have also updated buttons, menus, document tools and session rows, with clearer dates, times, durations and payment information. Overview has an interactive activity chart and a list of its values. Period comparisons use corresponding calendar days, and financial summaries explain that amounts are estimates based on current rates.
CSV exports now include note-section text, life events, communication records and document/version metadata. Document contents and generated PDFs are not included in CSV; use a protected Mente backup to transfer or restore your workspace.
This release also fixes search results opening the wrong context, filters hiding the record you searched for, overlapping suggestions at appointment boundaries and editors closing after a failed save. We have improved recurring-session save handling, kept document history open after restoration, and corrected wording and plurals in all seven languages. A failed save now restores the previous values in the affected client records.

Mente is now available in Dutch. You can choose it during setup or later in Settings, and the app also switches to Dutch automatically when it follows your device language.
The translation covers everyday work throughout Mente, from client records, sessions and notes to plans, reminders, notifications, help, privacy information and Client Documents. Appointment messages and calendar files can be prepared in Dutch even if you use the rest of the app in another language.
1.26.3 Aug 31
Mente 1.26.2 makes editing Client Documents feel much more direct: the Add menu now starts with three clear choices: paste text from Word or another app, choose a pre-filled section, or add one field. New content can be placed exactly after the section you are working on; Mente opens it, brings it into view, and lets you undo an addition or deletion.
Saving and PDF preview no longer leave you guessing when something is missing. Mente takes you to the title or first incomplete section and explains what still needs attention. Reordering now has its own focused view, while PDF Preview is easier to reach.
1.26.2 Aug 29
New note templates (Mente Pro).
