SwimIQ: AI Swim Coach
Workout generator, season plan
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
SwimIQ writes your swim workouts. Tell it your group and goal and get a full practice that fits your season. Or snap, speak or type your own into a clean PDF.
SwimIQ is the swim coach app that turns a handwritten practice sheet into a structured, PDF-ready workout in seconds. Snap a photo, speak it, or type it — then check it against real swimming science, not guesswork. AI-powered workout builder and energy-zone calculator, built by a coach for competitive swim coaches and clubs.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• NEW — Lab, your AI coaching assistant: plan your season week by week from general prep to taper, write today's session from your plan and your recent workouts, and chat about anything. It remembers your squad and reads the spreadsheets and photos you share. Experienced coach? Share your plan and say "set up my next mesocycle". Newer coach? Describe the result you want and your team, and Lab builds the plan and explains why (paid plans and free trial)
• NEW — Use SwimIQ in English, Spanish or French: menus, Lab, voice, analysis, PDFs and photo or typed workouts, with real coaching words (libre, braza, pies; crawl, éduc, souple)
• Snap a photo of any handwritten practice sheet — SwimIQ reads every set, style and instruction, including circled reps, bracket notation, and master sets
• Speak or type a workout — it gets structured for you
• Fix anything in the builder — switch sets between Warm-Up, Pre-Set, Main Set and Cool-Down, add circuits and repeats, and write an instruction for each lap
• Write one practice for several training groups — Sprint, Middle and Distance each keep their own sets, total and practice time, on screen and on the PDF
• See the estimated practice time, with section times that add up to the total
• Get AI analysis of any workout against real swimming methodology, and save it with the practice
• Generate a clean PDF with your club name and logo to share with swimmers
• Manage your swimmer roster with personal-best tracking and full Energy System pace zones (A1/A2/A3/Z2/Z3 CS) per 50/100/200/400
• Your saved analyses, logo and club name are backed up to your account
BUILT FOR COMPETITIVE SWIM COACHES
SwimIQ is designed for coaches who care about training quality, not just filling a board. Pace zones come from established frameworks. Workout analysis respects your own coaching knowledge first, then checks against external references for blind spots.
COACHING SOFTWARE FOR YOUR WHOLE CLUB
Team and Elite plans bring your coaching staff into one club. Invite coaches with a code, and share one coaching knowledge base so every analysis follows your club's system.
PLANS
• Free trial — 7 days, full access
• Individual — $9.99/mo
• Team — $19.99/mo (up to 3 coaches)
• Elite — $39.99/mo (up to 10 coaches)

• AI analysis is faster.
• Fixed: analysis no longer counts your cool-down twice or asks you to delete a cool-down you only wrote once.
Thanks for coaching with SwimIQ.

• New: custom pool length. In the session builder, open Pool, choose Custom…, type your length (for example 33) and tap Metres or Yards. Made for clubs that train in 33m, 33y or other pools.
Thanks for coaching with SwimIQ.
1.31 Oct 20
• New: SwimIQ in Spanish and French. Choose Español or Français in Settings → Language, or on the sign-in screen. Menus, Lab, voice input, workout analysis, your PDFs, and photo or typed workouts all switch to that language, with the words coaches use on deck. A phone set to Spanish or French starts in that language.
• Your language choice is saved to your account and follows you to every device.

• New: sets for training groups. When your sheet has a column for each group (Sprint, Middle, Distance), SwimIQ keeps each group together and gives it its own total and practice time, in the Builder, on the PDF, in History and in your weekly view.
• A set written on one line stays on one line. "30 x 50, 1-5 free, 6-8 descend, 9-10 hold" is one row with your notes beside it, not a stack of brackets.
• One Practice Reminders box, always in the Builder. Type freely, press Enter for a new line, and each line prints as its own point on the PDF. Reminders stay with every saved practice.
• Name any group or choice block in the Builder. Blocks with the same name count as one group.
• A sheet written in yards is read in yards, and History shows a yards week in yards.
Thanks for coaching with SwimIQ.
1.29 Oct 13
• New: sign in or create your account with Apple or Google. One tap, no password to remember.
• Practices sent from Lab to the Builder keep their own blocks, rounds and distances, and every block can be named.
Thanks for coaching with SwimIQ.
1.28 Oct 13
• Lab practices now reach the Builder with the distance Lab wrote. Rounds get a section of their own, and SwimIQ checks the totals of every practice Lab writes and has it corrected when they do not add up.
• Workout feedback is easier to read: key points are shown in bold.
• A smoother app: a SwimIQ logo screen while the app loads, and screens, pop-ups and rows that ease in and out.

• New: Lab, your AI coaching assistant (in every paid plan and the free trial). Plan your season from general prep to taper, write a session from your plan and what your squad has done, or ask anything. Lab remembers your group, reads the spreadsheets and photos you share, and can find a past workout in History and rework it.
• New look: cleaner fonts across the app.
• Subscriptions are more reliable: if a purchase doesn't show on your account right away, Restore Purchases in Settings now fixes it, and your plan follows any change you make in iPhone Settings.
• New progress screen when you scan, type or speak a workout: see each step as SwimIQ works, with a timer, and your screen stays on until it's done.
• New Style column (was Stroke) with short names — Swim, Fr, Bk, Br, Fly, IM, Kick, Pull, Drill, Scull, BNF, Choice. Mixed sets show as one style, like Pull/Kick or Fr/Bk, and you can type your own with "Custom…".
• Scans now take the style only from what you wrote. Equipment like paddles or fins no longer turns a swim set into Pull, and everything else you wrote for a set goes into Detail.
• Rating SwimIQ now uses Apple's standard rating prompt, and you can rate anytime from Settings.
• Scanned and typed workouts now recognise Warm-Up, Pre-Set, Main Set and Cool-Down more accurately — even on sheets with no headings — and keep your sets in the order you wrote them.
• Lap details now show your full instructions, not just distance and stroke — e.g. "25 FL single arm R · 25 FL single arm L · 25 FL swim" — in the preview and the PDF. You can also type or edit the instruction for each lap in the builder.
• Change any block's type: tap the block name in the builder to switch it between Warm-Up, Pre-Set, Main Set and Cool-Down. Your sets stay exactly where they are — top to bottom, just like your sheet.
• You can also change the type of each set on its own — mark sets Pre-Set, Main Set and so on one by one, and the builder groups them under a new header only where the type changes.
• Practice time now adds a 90-second break every time the block type changes (Warm-Up → Pre-Set → Main Set …), and the PDF's section times add up to the total.
• PDF section totals now add up when the same kind of block appears more than once with rounds (e.g. Main Set ×2, Pre-Set, Main Set).
• The workout summary after a scan now shows each section's rounds (e.g. Pre-Set ×3), so the section totals match the day's total.
• Creating your club right after subscribing no longer fails while your payment is still being confirmed.

• Your saved analyses, club logo and PDF club name are now backed up to your account — they come back after reinstalling the app, signing out, or switching phones.
• Never lose a workout: if your connection drops while saving, the workout stays on your phone and uploads automatically when you're back online.
• History now shows when every workout was saved.
• Photo reading picks up strokes more reliably, and the builder and PDF always show the same stroke.
• New stroke: Scull — pick it in the builder, or write it on your practice sheet.
• "Speed Play" is now called "Build Up" — same sets, clearer name.
• Club logos are resized on upload, so they save and load faster.
Thanks for coaching with SwimIQ.
1.23 Sep 25
• Faster photo reading: snap a practice sheet and get your workout back in about half the time.
• Deeper workout analysis, with a clear score breakdown for every session.
• Saved analyses now keep the practice they belong to — see the sets, reopen it in the builder, or export a PDF.
• Builder: when a section repeats (×2, ×3…), each block now shows whether it repeats or counts once — and you can switch it either way, any time.
• Builder: the section multiplier is clearer — it now reads "×2" with an "All Main rounds" label.
• Fixed: an inserted block's volume now updates the moment you edit it.
• Fixed: adding a block and then raising the multiplier no longer silently doubles that block.
Thanks for coaching with SwimIQ.
1.22 Sep 23
• Builder: circuit blocks no longer show a confusing extra "+ Set / Circuit" row underneath them.
• Builder: new "Custom" option in the insert bar — add a single block anywhere and give it your own name.
• Builder: every Warm-Up, Pre-Set, Main, and Cool-Down block can now be given its own name, so multiple blocks of the same type are easy to tell apart.
• Fixed: circuit names now actually print on the PDF.
• New equipment tags: Fins, Paddles, Snorkel, Pull Buoy, UW Kick.
Thanks for coaching with SwimIQ.
1.21 Sep 20
• Log practices after the fact: pick a date in the builder and the workout files under that day in History — even if you build it a day or two later. Editing an old workout no longer moves it.
• PDFs now show each section's duration next to its volume (for example 700y · 20 min), and the sections add up to the practice total.
• A cleaner, higher-contrast light mode.
• Fixed: new workouts now start on today's date in your own time zone.
Thanks for coaching with SwimIQ.

New coaches now go straight into the app on their free trial — no plan to choose up front. Pick one when you're ready, or when the trial ends.
The plan screen is cleaner and shows a recap of what you built during your trial.

Saving a workout is now instant — no more waiting on the network before it's confirmed.
Fixed: reviewing a workout's PDF from History could close the week and day you had open, so you'd have to hunt for that practice again. Your place in History now stays put.
Thanks for coaching with SwimIQ.
1.17 Aug 4
Fixed: building a new workout from a different photo, recording, or typed session — after opening a saved workout from History — could silently overwrite that older workout instead of saving a new one. Building a fresh workout now always saves as a new entry.
Performance improvements:
• App stays smoother the longer you keep it open — fixed a background task that could pile up over a long session
• History and Settings open instantly on repeat visits instead of re-checking the network every time
• Builder no longer reprocesses your practice sheet photo every time you switch back to it
• Deleting a workout or a whole practice group is now instant instead of waiting on the network
Also new:
• Every button in the app now gives clear press feedback, so it always feels responsive
• PDFs now print each set's own name (like "Kick Set" or "Sprint Set") as its own heading, instead of running multiple sets together
Thanks for coaching with SwimIQ.
1.16 Jul 15
New: PDF from History
Tap "PDF" on any saved workout to download it instantly — no need to open the Builder first.
Performance and accuracy improvements:
• App loads faster — subscription and usage data now fetch in parallel
• Builder is smoother — rapid taps on repeat counts no longer cause redraws on every tap
• Volume warnings — if a parsed circuit's total doesn't match its label, you now see a warning automatically
Bug fixes:
• History — tapping a workout now always opens the correct one, even when filtered by group or drill type
• Volume totals — circuit sets now calculate accurately (previously could show too high or too low)
• Builder — reopening the app no longer loads your last-viewed workout; it starts fresh as expected
• Assigned mode — "Assigned to swimmer" now shows an inline text field instead of a popup (broken on iOS)
• Warm-up / cool-down volume — WU and CD meters now count correctly in the session total
