Serento - UPnP Control Point
Audiophile UPnP Control Point
Free · In‑App Purchases
Serento is the premium control point for UPnP/DLNA streamers and network DACs, built for audiophiles who demand bit-perfect playback and a modern, responsive interface.
No account. No login. Just your music, your streamer, and Serento.
BIT-PERFECT PCM & DSD
True bit-perfect playback - PCM up to 32-bit/768 kHz and native DSD up to DSD512 - with automatic detection of your renderer's capabilities. DoP and Native DSD pass-through, no conversion, no downsampling. Your DAC receives exactly what's on your drive.
INTERNET RADIO THAT ACTUALLY WORKS
Curated presets for high-quality audiophile stations, including jazz, classical, and hi-fi showcase channels. Add your own stations via URL or M3U import. Live ICY metadata. Automatic reconnect on drops. No more fighting with broken URLs or silent failures.
YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY, BEAUTIFULLY
Browse music from MinimServer, Plex or any UPnP/DLNA server on your network. Albums, Artists, Tracks, Genres, Folder view and a beautiful Classical Music Section. Lightning-fast contextual search.
MAKE IT YOURS
Bookmark any filtered view - Hi-Res Jazz, FLAC from 2023 - and jump back in one tap. Group albums into your own tags. Save albums and tracks to Listen Later, split into Up Next and Listened. Album version grouping collapses remasters and reissues under one cover, your chosen main version synced everywhere.
YOUR TAGS COME FIRST
Serento trusts the tags already in your files before fetching anything. Beyond title, artist, album and genre, it reads MusicBrainz identifiers to match the exact release, and classical Work and Movement tags so multi-movement works stay grouped and in order. Your library's truth wins.
KNOW EVERY RECORD
Artist bios, album reviews, release years, labels and per-track credits - performers, composers, lyricists - pulled from Serento's database and layered on top of your library, never overwriting your tags. Mistagged album? Identify it by hand, or let a sync pass fill the gaps and fetch high-resolution covers automatically.
A REAL CLASSICAL SECTION
Browse by composer, work, conductor, orchestra, soloist, period or musical form - not one flat artist list. Open any work to see every recording you own side by side, movements in order, credits split by role. It stays out of the way until your library actually has classical in it.
SMART PLAYLISTS
Auto-generated playlists built from your own listening history - weighted by how often and how recently you play, then balanced across genre, era and codec. A different way back into your library every time.
DOWNLOAD & GO
Tap Download on any album, track or playlist and play straight from local storage - the same bit-perfect pipeline, zero network. Resumable, survives an app kill, per-device, excluded from iCloud Backup.
EVERYTHING IN SYNC
Queue, current track and volume mirror across every Serento device driving the same renderer - start on iPhone, pick it up on Mac, adjust volume from iPad, no master or follower. Your playlists, My Mixes, favorites, Listen Later and play history sync the instant you change them, near-instant over the local network, with iCloud carrying the rest.
ON IPHONE, IPAD AND MAC
Serento is available on iPhone, iPad and Mac, offering the same amazing experience on all of them and real time sync across devices.

Ratings & Reviews
Version 1.1.3 comes with support for the new Serento app for Apple TV.
NEW
Group as Versions. Select two or more albums and choose Group as Versions in the … menu: they become versions of one album, and you pick the main version. Manage Versions, on an album's Versions screen, opens the same editor. Your groups sync across your devices.
“The” in Artist Names, in Settings › Display › Artist Settings. Match “The” variants as one artist, on by default, makes “The Pink Floyd” and “Pink Floyd” one artist, named as on the newest release, orchestras and choirs included. Ignore “The” when sorting puts “The Beatles” under B. Both choices can sync across your devices.
Tracks in every genre. A genre's page has a new Tracks section under Decades, and View All lists every track of the genre, with search, filters, sorting and Play. A track appears under each genre it carries, even on an album of another genre.
IMPROVED
When a streamer refuses a DSD file and your server also offers a PCM version, Serento plays that version instead of showing an error, and remembers the streamer's limit on all your devices. Nothing is converted: Serento picks between your server's versions.
A DSD file sent to a streamer untouched now shows BIT-PERFECT. DSD OVER PCM appears only when your server sends DoP.
On streamers that Serento feeds one track at a time, Serento follows the track the streamer plays, wherever it is in the queue: after your iPhone or iPad slept, after another device moved on, or after a network drop. The queue, Now Playing and the Lock Screen show that track, and the music goes on.
Composers that your server joins with a comma, as MinimServer does, are now split into separate composers, while a name written “Surname, First name” stays whole. Sync with your server to apply it: Settings › your server › Sync Data › Sync now.
When a name in a shared credit belongs to another artist in your library, Serento's database now tells them apart: “Travis” in “Travis & Fripp” is Theo Travis, not the band Travis. This applies at your next sync.
During a sync, artist credits that got no answer, for example while Serento was in the background, are asked again before the sync ends.
Genres, as the community suggested: Alternative Dance now sits under Pop, Avant-Garde only under Experimental, Folktronica also under Downtempo, and Alternative Metal also under Metal.
FIXED
On streamers that Serento feeds one track at a time, an album could stop after its first track while your iPhone or iPad was locked. The first track now hands the next one to the streamer, so the album plays on without a gap.
On some streamers, Play and Pause could stop responding after the streamer restarted and lost the track. Play now gives it your track again from the position on the screen, also when another app took the streamer while your track was paused.
When you move playback to another output, your other devices show the new output at once.
A device following playback started on another device now shows the format your streamer actually receives.
On some streamers, a radio station started after a track could lose its logo and make the mini player flicker.
A genre now shows the same picture on its page and on its tile, and keeps it.
Many bug fixes and other small improvements.
