Made for iPhone Duo: your picks on one half, the film on the other. Until 1 November, unfold slowly to open the crypt and find your Halloween Double bill.
Faro finds you something to watch tonight, on your own or with friends. Rate the films you've already seen and it picks from there.
No more half past eight, everyone on the sofa, still scrolling.
RATE WHAT YOU'VE SEEN
Every film gets one of four answers: Not for me, Didn't click, Liked, Loved. The more you rate, the better the picks get. Once you've rated a handful, choosing takes about a minute.
HELP ME CHOOSE
Tap Help me choose. Set a filter or two if you like: under two hours, say, or only the streaming services you already have. Faro comes back with a small set of films and you choose. Keep the ones you're torn on in a shortlist, then lock one in as tonight's pick.
Filters mean exactly what they say. Ask for under two hours and nothing longer turns up. If nothing fits, Faro tells you and checks with you before it loosens anything.
WATCH WITH FRIENDS
Add friends who also have Faro by their @username. Watch Together weighs everyone's taste at once and suggests films the whole group might go for. Watch Party is a shared list for the group. Anyone adds films and everyone reacts.
ONE PAGE PER FILM
Trailer, clips, cast and where it's streaming in your region. Save it for another night or mark it seen. Not interested? Say so and it stays out of your picks.
COMING FROM LETTERBOXD
Import your ratings export in one step. The file is read on your phone and never uploaded.
LIGHT AND DARK
Golden Hour is the light look, Midnight the dark one. Faro follows your phone's setting or you pick one yourself.
ACCESSIBILITY
Faro works with the settings you already use: VoiceOver, Voice Control, Larger Text, Sufficient Contrast, Differentiate Without Colour Alone, Reduced Motion, Dark Interface and Captions.
NO ADS, NO TRACKING
Faro is free, with nothing to buy inside. Your data is never sold or used for advertising and what you share is seen only by the people you invite. What's trending has no say in your picks and nobody can pay to put a film in front of you.
FROM PHIL
I built Faro on my own because choosing a film was eating the best hour of my evening. Support lives in the You tab and comes straight to me. If something's wrong or you have an idea, write and I'll read it.

This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
Faro now makes full use of iPhone Duo. Open the phone and your picks sit on one half with the film on the other, or put two films from your shortlist either side of the fold to choose between them. Until 1 November, unfold the phone slowly to open the crypt and find your Halloween Double bill.
