Skriptr - Voice to Notes
AI recorder & transcription
Free · In‑App Purchases
Skriptr turns your voice into searchable, shareable text — automatically.
Record meetings, lectures, interviews, or your own ideas. Skriptr transcribes them with AI, generates a clean summary, and saves everything in one place. No fiddling with files, no waiting for someone else to write it up.
KEY FEATURES
• Instant transcription — accurate, speaker-labeled
• AI summaries — pull out the key points so you don't have to re-listen
• Import audio you already have — an existing MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, AIFF, or FLAC file, up to 500 MB
• Uploads that survive bad signal — lose connection mid-upload and Skriptr picks up where it left off instead of starting over
• Export anywhere — PDF with color-coded speakers, plain text, or SRT subtitles
• Share by link or email, straight from the recording
• Background recording — lock your phone or switch apps, Skriptr keeps capturing
• Smart upload modes — Auto, Auto-on-Wi-Fi (default), or Manual. You control when recordings sync.
• Works offline — record anywhere, sync when you're back online
• Mark the moments that matter — tap Mark while you record, or add a marker while you listen, then jump straight back to it. Rename or delete a marker any time.
• Search your recordings to jump straight back to the one you need
• Transcribes 99 languages, detected automatically — interface in 13
• Connect an AI app — let an AI assistant read your recordings over MCP. You approve each app with Face ID or Touch ID, and can disconnect it from Settings at any time.
• Private — your recordings stay tied to your account, and uploads are encrypted in transit. Delete any recording, or your whole account and its data, right in the app.

1.7.0 Jul 30
New in Skriptr:
• SRT export — save any transcript as a subtitle file
• Speaker-colored PDFs — tell speakers apart at a glance
• One Share & Export sheet, with a live preview before you export
• Manage recordings straight from the Home screen — save, rename, or delete
• Stability and reliability improvements
1.6.0 Jul 26
Stability fixes: playback no longer crashes if you leave a recording while seeking, and links to Terms, Privacy Policy, and Support now always work — if your device blocks the browser, we show you the address so you can copy it.
1.5.14 Jul 24
Export your notes: save, print, or share any recording's summary and transcript as a clean, nicely formatted PDF or plain text — and choose exactly which sections to include. Works beautifully with non-Latin scripts (Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and more). Plus fully translated Import Audio screens and smoother scrolling.
1.5.12 Jul 21
Recording reliability: your recording now keeps going when you switch to another app, open the camera, or take a phone call — and it's saved even if an interruption cuts it short. Plus smaller fixes to link handling and behind-the-scenes stability.
1.5.10 Jul 16
• NEW: Import Audio — transcribe & summarize an existing recording
• Fixed: unexpected sign-outs; you now stay signed in
• Fixed: being re-asked your name after signing back in
• The recording list now shows play + status at a glance, plus stability improvements
1.5.8 Jul 13
What's new in 1.5.4:
Stability
• Fixed crashes that could occur while playing or downloading a recording, or when a recording's audio was unavailable.
• Recordings no longer lose their audio after updating or restoring the app.
Plus under-the-hood reliability improvements.
1.5.4 Jul 7
What's new in 1.5.2:
Sharing fixed
Creating a share link for your recordings now works reliably — no more failed attempts when sharing a transcript or summary.
Smoother sign-in
Fixed an issue where the sign-in screen could briefly flicker through multiple transitions after your session expired.
Under-the-hood stability and reliability improvements.
1.5.2 Jul 2
Fixed an issue that could cause the Settings screen to appear blank for some accounts. Thanks for the reports!
1.5.1 Jul 1
AudioSnap is now Skriptr
A new name, a new icon, and a fresh look — same instant audio-to-text features you rely on. Your recordings, transcripts, and subscriptions all carry over automatically.
A better welcome for new users
Sign in with Google or Apple, then pick your display name in one quick step.
More reliable push notifications
Fixed a silent issue where push notifications could fail to deliver on production builds. When your transcript is ready, you'll know.
Take control of when recordings upload
Choose Auto (any connection), Auto over Wi-Fi only (the new default), or Manual. Recordings that haven't uploaded yet show a clear "Pending" badge — tap it to upload now, or just wait for Wi-Fi.
Smarter uploads on unreliable networks
Uploads no longer hang indefinitely on flaky connections — they time out cleanly and surface a one-tap Retry. Failed uploads now show the actual reason ("Wait a moment and try again", "Sign in again", etc.) instead of a generic error.
Smoother sign-in
Faster timeouts and clearer error messages when the network is slow or unreliable.
1.5.0 Jun 13
What's new in 1.4.0:
Push notifications
You can now leave AudioSnap and we'll send you a push notification the moment your recording is transcribed and summarized — no need to keep the app open. Enable from Settings, or via the in-context prompt after your first recording.
Localized in your language
Notification titles and messages render in your selected language. Tapping the notification takes you straight to the recording.
Behind the scenes
A handful of robustness improvements: faster failure detection (e.g. when a recording is too quiet to transcribe), correct date formatting in non-English languages, and improved upload retry behavior.
1.4.0 May 17
What's new in 1.3.4:
Reliable upload retries
Fixed an issue where multiple queued failed recordings could retry at the same time and trigger a server rate-limit, blocking new uploads until the queue cleared. Retries now happen one at a time and recover cleanly.
Clearer upload errors
When an upload can't complete, you'll now see a clear message explaining why and what to do, instead of a blank screen with no information.
1.3.4 May 15
What's new in 1.3.3:
Faster failure detection
When a recording can't be transcribed — for example, silent audio or a file that exceeds the limit — AudioSnap now picks up the result immediately instead of waiting through a long retry cycle. The right action (Delete or Retry) appears right away.
Home list reliability
Fixed a rare crash on the Home list that could leave the screen with a runaway scroll. Recordings now render correctly regardless of state.
Cleaner short-recording handling
Tapping the record button too briefly (under 3 seconds, or before the microphone fully initializes) now shows a short "Recording too short" message instead of queueing a doomed upload that ends with a confusing retry banner.
1.3.3 May 14
What's new in 1.3.2:
Reliability fix for long recordings
A "transcription timed out" banner could remain on the recorder screen for long recordings (typically 15+ minutes) even after the transcript had loaded successfully. The banner now clears as soon as the transcript is available, regardless of how the backend delivered it.
Clearer error messages
When a recording can't be transcribed, the message now tells you why — too short or too quiet, too long, provider temporarily unavailable, or a generic processing issue. Each error has its own localized explanation instead of a generic "failed" message.
Smarter retry behavior
For recordings that can't be fixed by retrying the same upload (silent audio, files exceeding the recording limit), the action button now offers to delete rather than retry. Retry stays the default for transient errors.
1.3.2 May 14
What's new in 1.3.1:
Reliability fixes
• Fixed a "transcription failed" banner that could briefly appear over content that actually loaded successfully. The banner now disappears automatically as soon as your transcript or summary is ready.
• Error states are now properly scoped to each recording — messages from one no longer linger when you open another.
1.3.1 May 12
New in Skriptr:
• When you create an account or reset your password, you now see the password requirements, and each one turns green as you type
• Restore purchases is now in Settings, so you can bring Pro back on a new phone or after reinstalling
• If you already subscribe, tapping Upgrade now restores Pro instead of doing nothing
• Stability and reliability improvements
