Bells now finish ringing at midnight and when you unlock your phone, headphones and Bluetooth switching is steadier, and turning bells off stops the very next bell. Your daily alarm now re-arms itself for the next morning.

Bells now ring reliably with the app in the background or the screen locked. Also fixed: - Evening and night bells (8 PM to 6 AM) could be silent during the free trial - Some in-app sounds didn't play Thank you for your reports. Fair winds!

A fresh new look on the App Store, with the same Ship's Clock you know: bells struck in pairs, live weather and tides, and the hot-air balloon drifting by each morning. Thank you for keeping watch with us. Fair winds!

SHIP'S CLOCK 3.0 — OUR BIGGEST VOYAGE YET Thank you for keeping watch with us. Every note, rating and kind word from our crew shaped this release. Here's what's new on board. BELLS STRUCK IN PAIRS At sea, the ship's bell has never rung as a plain count. It rings in pairs: ding-ding, ding-ding, ding. Ship's Clock now strikes every half hour in that old rhythm, the same one sailors have kept for centuries. Listen for it at your next bell. PLAYS ALONG WITH YOUR MUSIC Your bells now blend in with your music, podcasts, videos and live audio instead of stopping them. Keep your playlist going and hear the watch ring through it. The bells go quiet only while you're on a phone call. TIDES FROM YOUR NEAREST STATION Tides now come from the closest NOAA station to you, wherever you are on the US coast, with the station name and distance shown. Inland? Ship's Clock says so honestly instead of guessing. NOW IN SIX LANGUAGES English, Arabic, Spanish, French, German and Portuguese. Ship's Clock follows your iPhone's language, or you can choose one in Settings. Arabic reads right to left throughout. Thank you to the sailors who asked for it. EARN YOUR RANK Every hour on watch counts. Rise from Deckhand toward Admiral, and Ship's Clock marks each promotion with a ceremony. Share your rank with your crew when you earn it. SHARPER, RICHER BELLS Every bell sound now strikes right on the mark, with balanced volume across all eight voices, from Classic Brass to the Church Bell. The test ring now sounds exactly like the real thing. SPREAD THE WORD A new section in Settings makes it easy to share Ship's Clock or leave a rating. Ship's Clock is made by a small crew, and every review helps another sailor find us. STEADY AS SHE GOES - No more double bell on the night the clocks go forward - The lighthouse shines reliably again - Many small polish and stability improvements Still aboard and ringing true: - The Admiralty dial and the Ship's Clock Classic, in five finishes - Live weather, barometer and wind - The seven traditional watches, including the Dog Watches - A sky that follows the sun from dawn to night - Night Silence and a built-in alarm - Home and Lock Screen widgets If Ship's Clock brings a little of the sea to your day, please leave a rating. It means the world to us. Fair winds and following seas, The crew of Ship's Clock

The finest maritime clock ever made for iPhone, Ship's Clock brings five hundred years of seafaring tradition into your pocket — eight bells, every watch, every hour, every day and every night. It is the timepiece sailors have always wanted: rigorous, beautiful, alive. At sea, time has always been measured in bells. The day breaks into four-hour watches, each one marked by the strike of a bell on the half hour and the hour. One bell at thirty minutes past, two at the next hour, three at the half, building to eight bells as the watch comes to an end and the next begins. Ship's Clock keeps that exact rhythm. Whether your phone is in your hand, on the dresser, or charging by the bed, the bells ring, the day acquires order, and you find yourself moving with the watches. Five authentic bells are included, each hand-recorded from a different source. Brass is the classic ship's bell — bright, clear, the chime familiar to anyone who has spent time on the water. Iron Bell is heavier and deeper, the kind hung at harbor stations. Harbor Call rolls in with the resonance of a working dock at first light. Sonar Ping is crisp and electronic, drawn from a modern depth sounder, suited to a navigational instrument panel. Glocke is a stone-tower church bell from a coastal village, slow and deep, with a long sustain that hangs in the room after each strike. A full library of alarm sounds — fog horns, sirens, conch shells, train whistles — is included as well, for waking up, marking events, or calling the crew. Ship's Clock is also the bridge instrument every sailor wished came with the phone. A live weather screen brings real-time precipitation radar from the National Weather Service, NASA satellite imagery refreshed every ten minutes, active storm warnings, and tide predictions pulled from the nearest NOAA station. A barometer with rising-and-falling trend, a sun and moon almanac, UV index, humidity, and a five-day forecast complete the panel. Every section links to its source so the readings can be verified at a glance. Version 1.4 is the largest update since launch. The bell preview now fires the moment you tap it, with no delay. Every interaction responds with premium haptic feedback through the iPhone's Taptic Engine. A new welcome scene opens to a brass ship's clock lit in deep ocean light. The first forty-eight hours are unlocked completely — every bell, every alarm sound, every premium feature included from the start. The sky now tracks your local sunrise and sunset to the minute, anywhere in the world. And the lighthouse beam now sweeps the horizon at quarter past and quarter to the hour during dawn, dusk, and night, marking the quiet moments between bells. There has never been a more careful, more beautiful, more accurate maritime clock made for the iPhone. A note from the maker If you've found this app, you probably already love something about the sea — the watches, the rituals, the bells, the rhythm of a day broken into four-hour spans. So do I. That's why this exists. I'm building Ship's Clock with a small crew, trying to honor a five-hundred-year tradition with the care it deserves. Every chime is hand-recorded. Every line of code is hand-written. Every detail is something we obsessed over for someone, somewhere, who would notice. The Ship's Log on the Support page is where I live online. Live chat goes straight to me — send a bug, a feature request, a sailing story, a photo of where you use the app. I read every message. The best ideas come from the people using the app, on the water and in their daily lives. If Ship's Clock serves your watch well, a kind review when the time feels right helps other sailors and history-lovers find it. If something's not right, please tell me first. Thank you for finding this. Let's keep building it together. At sea, time is measured in bells. The day breaks into four-hour watches, each marked by the strike of a bell on the half hour and the hour — one bell at thirty minutes past, two at the next hour, three at the half hour after, building to eight bells at the watch's end, when the whole sequence begins again. Ship's Clock brings that five-hundred-year tradition to your iPhone. The bells ring quietly in the background while you work, drive, cook, or sleep, and the day acquires the rhythm of a ship at sea. Five authentic chimes are built in, each hand-recorded. Brass is the classic ship's bell — bright, clear, the sound most familiar to anyone who has spent time on the water. Iron Bell is heavier and deeper, the kind hung at harbor stations. Harbor Call rolls in with the resonance of a working dock. Sonar Ping is crisp and electronic, drawn from a modern depth sounder. Glocke is a stone-tower church bell with a long, slow sustain. You pick the one you want to live with, and it rings on the half hour and the hour, every hour, all day and all night. A full library of alarm sounds is included as well — fog horns, sirens, conch shells, train whistles — for waking up, marking events, or calling the crew. Ship's Clock is also the bridge instrument every sailor wished came with the phone. A live weather screen brings real-time NEXRAD precipitation radar, NASA satellite imagery refreshed every ten minutes, active National Weather Service storm warnings, and tide predictions pulled from the nearest NOAA station. A barometer with rising-and-falling trend, a sun and moon almanac, UV index, humidity, and a five-day forecast round out the panel. Every section is linked to its source so you can verify the reading and read deeper. It is built to be glanced at the way a chart-table dashboard is glanced at — once, and you have everything. Every interaction responds with premium haptic feedback through the iPhone's Taptic Engine. A new welcome scene opens to a brass ship's clock lit in deep ocean light. The first forty-eight hours are unlocked completely — every bell, every alarm sound, every premium feature included — so you can hear the entire instrument from the start. The sky now follows your local sunrise and sunset times exactly, anywhere in the world. And the lighthouse beam sweeps the horizon at quarter past and quarter to the hour during dawn, dusk, and night, marking the quiet moments between bells. Welcome aboard. I aim to make this the most exciting Ship's Clock app ever made. We've got a live chat on the Captain's Log and SUPPORT page, where you can reach me directly for bugs, complaints, or just to make a beautiful post in the SHIP'S LOG!
