Mile 32 is a training companion for ultra runners — built around the reality that getting to a finish line takes months of smart preparation, not just miles on your feet.
RACE READINESS
A single, honest readiness score built from three independent pillars: aerobic capacity, race-specific preparation (your longest efforts measured against what your plan is building toward), and freshness (your taper, HRV and resting heart rate). It tells you whether you're ready for THIS race — not just generally fit — and a recent race result counts as proof.
TRAINING LOAD & FITNESS
Visualise your CTL (fitness), ATL (fatigue) and TSB (form) using the proven TRIMP method, now personalised to your own heart-rate zones. Know when you're building, when you're peaking, and when to back off. The chart adapts to your training block so you see exactly where you are relative to race day.
RECOVERY STATUS
A daily recovery read drawn from HRV, resting heart rate, sleep and training strain — so you know when to push and when to hold back. Tap through for the full breakdown behind the score.
AEROBIC DURABILITY
See how well your aerobic engine holds up over a long run — measured as cardiac drift: how much your heart rate climbs in the second half of a run for the same pace. A low, falling number means a deep, durable base that can carry you through hours on your feet. Because it's read within each run, it isn't skewed by the weather, the season, or a heavy training block.
LONG RUN TRACKING
Mile 32 identifies your long runs automatically from your Apple Health data and links them to your training plan. Watch your progression build week by week.
TRAINING PLAN
Build a structured plan around your race date. Each week's target distance is tracked against your actual runs. The next upcoming long run is highlighted — including session notes and effort cues — so you always know what's coming.
RUN DETAIL
Tap any run for a data-rich overview: GPS route map, per-kilometre splits, heart-rate zones, cadence, power, energy and VO2max — each compared against your 30-day average.
RACE DAY PLANNING
Set checkpoints, target splits, cutoff times, and your run/walk strategy. The race day card gives you everything in one place: from bib number to gel schedule to reminders for key race moments.
KIT & TAPER CHECKLIST
A comprehensive pre-race checklist organised by phase: two weeks out, race week, the day before, and race morning. Tick off mandatory items and know nothing gets forgotten.
PERSONAL BESTS
Track PBs across every distance from 5 km to 100 km, plus mile distances. Each PB tile pulls automatically from your run history.
MAKE IT YOURS
Customise every tab from a simple sheet — show, hide and reorder the sections that matter to you, and reach each page's settings in one place.
WIDGETS
A range of home-screen widgets in multiple sizes: weekly distance and elevation progress, your next long run and days to race, and a large Volume Heatmap showing six months of weekly mileage at a glance — each week colour-coded against your target. Long-press to choose what a widget shows.
Plus weather-aware training load, an ultra race-time predictor, achievement milestones, and B12 cycle tracking for those who use it.
No account. No subscription. No analytics or tracking. Your training data lives on your device — the only thing that ever leaves it is a run's location and date, sent anonymously to a weather service to label your conditions.
Ratings & Reviews
This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
This release is about races that run into the dark, and about the app
being straighter with you when a number isn't what it seems.
NIGHT PLANNING:
For a race that runs past sunset, the Race Day Card now works out when
it gets dark and light again, which checkpoints fall inside that window,
and whether your head torch is packed for the leg you'll actually need
it on — rather than sitting in a drop bag you reach at midnight. It's
all calculated on your phone from the course and your start time.
PLAN PROGRESS, RETHOUGHT:
Plan Progress used to count long runs ticked off, which meant one missed
or injured week held it under 100% for the rest of the block. That's a
bar that can't fill telling you about progress. It's now a timeline —
how far through the training period you are — and it reaches 100% when
that period ends. How the training actually went moved underneath it,
where it belongs: long runs completed of those due, distance run against
distance planned, and the weeks you missed.
NUMBERS THAT WERE QUIETLY WRONG:
Slow days were falling through a speed limit that shouldn't have applied
to them. Your steepest mountain days — the ones that produce the climb —
were being left out of vert targets, and a slow mountain long run wasn't
counting as that week's long run at all. Both now count, so your weekly
and monthly vert will read higher, in the app and on the widget. Walks
and hikes also credit a planned week from a wider window, matching runs.
Taper Health now says what it found rather than what it checked, so a
row headed "RHR stable" can't carry a warning triangle. Fitness still
climbing inside the final week gets flagged instead of excused. Heart-
rate recovery holds during a taper rather than reading a deliberately
easy fortnight as fatigue. And Run Conditions needs more than one warm
run before it calls your whole week warm.
