You can now unlock unlimited references with a one-time Lifetime Access purchase. Yearly subscriptions remain available, and Restore Purchases supports both lifetime and yearly access.

Smarter search, easier filtering and a smoother everyday workflow, now designed for every screen size. • Search finds references by anything written in them, and you can narrow the library by keyword or star. • Your library stays in sync with your Mac through iCloud. • Improvements to reliability and performance throughout.

• iCloud sync — your library stays the same on your iPad and Mac, stored in your own iCloud account. • Share from Safari — tap Share ▸ BibKit on a paper's page. BibKit looks it up and shows it for review; nothing is added until you tap Add. • Collections — group references by project, show one collection at a time, and export just that collection. • RIS and CSL JSON — import libraries from Zotero, Mendeley and EndNote, and export for other reference managers. • Formatting — format author and journal names for all references shown, including Fix Capitalisation (IRONS → Irons) and Restore Full Names. • Undo and Redo — buttons in the toolbar (and ⌘Z on a keyboard) undo editing, importing, formatting, deleting and more. • Smarter imports — papers you already have are completed instead of added twice, clashing cite keys get a suffix, and an import report explains what happened. • A much more faithful BibTeX reader and writer, including files that are not UTF-8. • Work without pop-ups — every confirmation and message can be turned off in Settings. • Safer library — if the library ever can't be opened, BibKit leaves it untouched and explains why, and starting over always keeps a copy first.

More publishers resolve from a link Paste an article address from MDPI, the Royal Society of Chemistry, or bioRxiv and medRxiv and BibKit now finds the reference. These sites block automated readers, so BibKit works the identifier out from the address itself. Links to bioRxiv and medRxiv full-text pages work too. Papers with a thousand authors no longer slow things down Opening a large collaboration paper used to make the editor and the reference details sluggish. Very long author lists are now shown in a compact form and edited as a plain list, one name per line. Copy BibTeX is unchanged and still includes every author.

Fixed importing from ScienceDirect abstract pages — pasting a sciencedirect.com "/abs/" link now finds the paper instead of failing to look it up. Plus minor stability improvements.

Improved journal formatting for Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS). You can now switch reliably between the full journal name and its standard or minimalist abbreviation. This update also includes reliability improvements.

Try BibKit before subscribing with the new free plan for libraries of up to 10 references. A BibKit Yearly subscription unlocks an unlimited library across iPad and Mac. This update also expands journal-name and abbreviation lookup and improves the subscription experience.
