It's native and free! Kolorz is the simplest way to pick a color on Mac and copy it in the format you need. It uses Apple's built-in color panel — the same picker you already know from Pages, Keynote, and Preview — and adds what it has always been missing: every value ready to copy, a global eyedropper shortcut, and a history of your recent picks. PICK FROM ANYWHERE Press ⌥⌘C from any app to sample a pixel with the system magnifier. The color panel opens with your pick. Remap the shortcut in Settings. COPY IN YOUR FORMAT Copy as HEX (#FF6B35), RGB (rgb(255, 107, 53)), or HSL (hsl(16, 100%, 60%)). Tap the color preview for HEX, use copy buttons on each row, or keyboard shortcuts: ⌘1 HEX, ⌘2 RGB, ⌘3 HSL. PASTE TO CONVERT Paste any color value into a format field and press Return. Kolorz parses it, updates the picker, and syncs every other format. RECENT COLORS Every sampled color is saved to your last 24 picks. Click to recall, drag into other apps, or clear the list anytime. THE REAL SYSTEM PANEL Use the color wheel, sliders, palettes, and image samplers built into macOS. Drag colors into the system swatch grid below to save favorites. SETTINGS • Keep the panel floating above other windows • Launch at login • Lowercase HEX output • Customize the global eyedropper shortcut PRIVATE BY DESIGN No analytics. No ads. No accounts. No network. Your colors stay on your Mac. Kolorz is a Dock app — launch it once, enable Launch at login, and your color picker is always a shortcut away.
