Ready for iPhone Duo • The camera arranges its controls for how you hold iPhone Duo, folded or open. • Folded, the camera can turn landscape, keeping the shutter and main controls clear of the camera cutout. Open, it keeps a portrait viewfinder. • Left-hand mode is respected in every pose. • The Duo layouts appear only on iPhone Duo. Highlights • Manual mode is redesigned (Hushed Pro). Each control has its own Auto button, so you can set one thing by hand and leave the rest automatic. White balance joins it, with Tungsten, Fluorescent, Daylight, Cloudy and Shadow presets on its own dial. Setting ISO, shutter or white balance by hand keeps the flash off. • Zoom by dial: tap the lens chip for a half-circle dial that snaps to the lens stops. VoiceOver users swipe up or down on the chip. • Zoom within a lens while recording slow motion at 120 and 240 fps, and Cinematic video on iPhone 18 Pro (Hushed Pro). • Siri and Shortcuts: ask Siri to open the camera, or use Shortcuts to open photo or video mode (video needs Hushed Pro) or switch cameras. • Club Mode is now free in Settings › Column Buttons. Tap it where recording isn't allowed, and the camera takes stills only. • One tap resets camera, capture and timer settings to default, or to defaults you save, with an Undo. Accessibility settings are never touched. • Smart Scene keeps the countdown sound for group, family and everyday scenes, and says when Apple Intelligence is off or still downloading. • Translate highlights the text it sees. Tap one to translate just that, or translate the whole page. It offers the torch for dim menus. Camera and Saving • With a timer armed, one tap stops a video, and the timer no longer creeps up when you switch lenses. • Bursts skip the review sheet, the gallery thumbnail pulses when done, and VoiceOver announces the count. • Captures from Control Center, the Lock Screen or Camera Control save reliably, even when the app wasn't running. • If Photos access is off, captures are held on your iPhone and saved automatically once you allow it. • ProRAW no longer fails away from 1×. Where a lens has no ProRAW, the photo saves as HEIC. • Recordings interrupted by the system are saved whenever the file is playable, and a failed save says what to do. Transfer Hush (formerly Show and Scan) • Receiving is free for everyone. Sending a photo or Scene Preset needs Ultra Snapped. • Transfers are about 27% faster, measured on two phones, and the time estimate is an honest range. • Actual size is offered for every photo, with a note when it would carry location. Smaller sizes leave location out. • The verification code now covers the photo itself. Both phones need this version. • Received Scene Presets show what they'll do and are checked before they can touch your camera settings. Accessibility • Camera controls, error messages and Lock Screen labels stay readable over bright scenes. Lock Screen labels get stronger backing under Increase Contrast and Reduce Transparency. • Dim Flashing Lights now dims every capture flash, and burst flashes are capped at three per second. • At the largest text sizes, the camera shows one status banner at a time, and the upgrade screen scrolls instead of cutting off. • VoiceOver reads live Manual values and every Translate highlight. • With Reduce Motion on, Transfer Hush shows a Start button instead of blocking a send. Subscriptions and Privacy • The upgrade screen leads with the feature you tapped, and the camera carries on with it after you start a trial or subscribe. • A calm note on the last day of your free trial, and once after it ends, says nothing is charged. After it ends, your photos are kept. • Tell a Friend shares a free month of Hushed Pro. • Report a Smart Scene result or a received preset through Feedback. You review it first. • Accessibility settings are no longer sent in analytics, and turning analytics off applies immediately.

The biggest update since launch: manual exposure, cinematic and spatial video, slow motion, night modes, and a rebuilt camera panel. MANUAL MODE — Pro Manual exposure that genuinely reaches the sensor, including on multi-camera iPhones, where the combined camera system quietly refuses manual settings. Corner dials for ISO, shutter and focus with detents at real photographic stops, and a focus dial from macro to infinity. At the largest text sizes the dials become a full-screen panel with steppers. CINEMATIC & SPATIAL VIDEO — Pro Record with depth: set a simulated aperture before rolling, tap to rack focus while filming, tap again to lock. Spatial captures 3D video for Apple Vision Pro. SLOW MOTION & TIME WARP — Pro 120 or 240 fps, bound to the lens that owns the format. Time Warp adapts its interval as the recording grows, so an hour condenses into a watchable movie with no math. Leave the app mid-capture and the movie still finishes and saves. LONG EXPOSURE & ASTRO — Pro Two tripod night modes: light trails and smooth water, or star trails and pinpoint stars. Everything merges on the device. SHOW MODE — free Dims the screen, keeps the flash off, and captures several frames on every press to keep the best. For concerts and live shows where you want the shot without lighting up the room. DARK RIDE MODE — free Switch it on in Settings for a chip that dims the whole screen to a monochrome minimum and holds flash, torch and screen flashes off. Film dark rides and theaters without disturbing anyone; the chip itself stays visible as the way out. STEADY CAM — free, on by default Video now records stabilized. Turn it off for the wider frame on a tripod or gimbal. The photo stability delay is now called Steady Snap, so the two read distinctly. A NEW CAMERA PANEL The bottom controls are one glass panel instead of three stacked capsules: a thin bar showing only what you have switched on, opening into a single surface that reveals just the options that apply, then puts itself away. The viewfinder is now framed to exactly what will be captured, and the torch button now lights the torch while you film. SNAPPY KIT Nine tools on a ring beside the shutter, off until you switch them on. Text Grab reads text off whatever you point at, Fine Print magnifies and speaks small print, and Show and Scan sends a photo to a nearby iPhone with no network, cable or pairing — those three are free. Ultra Snapped adds Metadata Editor, Calling Card, Unit Price Compare, Translate, Receipt Splitter and Comp Shop. Every tool recognizes on device. ALSO NEW Hold to burst (Pro). Every completed capture now announces itself. Long notices no longer overflow at the largest text sizes, and rail chips meet the 44-point minimum. Accessibility features are never behind a purchase. UPGRADES Hushed Pro unlocks every camera feature. Ultra Snapped adds the Snappy Kit tools. Each is offered weekly, monthly or yearly, and Ultra Snapped is also available as a one-time Lifetime purchase that never renews. Family Sharing is included on every option, and the 7-day trial is still opt-in and still never converts to a charge. If you already bought the $6.99 unlock, you keep everything, at the Ultra Snapped level. Nothing you paid for has been taken away. Cinematic, Spatial and the high frame rates depend on your iPhone; the app grays out what your device cannot do. Long Exposure and Astro are tripod modes.

This version adds Live Photo capture, with faster saves and steadier capture throughout. Live Photo (Pro) Capture a short moving clip around every photo and bring the moment back with a press and hold in Photos. It works with every way you shoot — a shutter tap, any self-timer, the smile and palm triggers, Apple Watch, and Siri. Your recent captures show a LIVE badge, and you can press and hold to play them right inside the app. This release brings Live Photo everywhere: the front camera is now included, along with the 16:9, 1:1, and 3:2 aspect ratios. And if a setting can't be combined with it — such as RAW, a mirrored selfie, or Auto Snap — a quick on-screen note explains why, so nothing fails silently. Faster, steadier capture Photos now save noticeably faster after each shot. Landscape selfies save right-side-up instead of sideways, and your zoom stays where you set it instead of jumping to the ultra-wide when the camera focuses on a close subject. We also improved low-light captures and fixed a crash that could occur with Depth Relight and Live Photo both switched on.

This version brings the biggest capture upgrade yet, plus new tools and steadier reliability throughout. Auto Snap (Pro) Turn it on and the camera watches the scene, then releases the shutter the instant your subject is well framed — no timer, no reaching for the button. It can learn, entirely on your device, which shots you keep, and frames better the more you use it. Depth Relight (Pro, LiDAR iPhones) Relighting now works like a real soft light. Shadowed and backlit faces recover naturally, bright highlights roll off gently instead of clipping, and halos around hair and shoulders all but disappear — while intentionally dark backgrounds stay dark. Toggle it and set its strength right in the viewfinder. Live exposure histogram (Pro) A luminance histogram at the top of the viewfinder shows at a glance whether a scene is balanced, blown out, or too dark — before the timer fires. Turn it on in Settings, Camera, Preview. Tell a Friend A new Settings row opens the share sheet to send someone a link to the app. Redeem a Code A new row below Restore Purchases opens Apple's redemption screen. Enter a Pro promo code and Pro unlocks when you return. Steadier manual controls Manual exposure, white balance, focus, exposure compensation, and tap-to-lock now fall back to automatic instead of quitting if a lens can't accept a value. More reliable everywhere Arming the self-timer with a paired Apple Watch no longer risks a crash if the connection drops. A rare failed video start recovers on its own instead of freezing the viewfinder. On larger non-Pro iPhones, the side controls and timer pill stay within the safe area. And Settings now explains what the Maximum, Balanced, and Fast photo-resolution options each do.

This version adds major new capture features and refines the entire app. HDR video and Spatial Audio Record video in HDR — HLG, 10-bit, wide-gamut color — on supported iPhones, for richer highlights and truer tones, with an HDR badge shown while it is active. Spatial Audio capture gives recordings a real sense of direction and space, and falls back to stereo automatically. QR and barcode scanning Point the camera at a QR code and a tappable link appears above the shutter. Preview the full destination, with a warning for deceptive links, before you Open, Copy, or Share it. Wi-Fi, contact, and calendar codes each offer their matching action. Everything is read on your device, nothing is collected, and links never open on their own. QR scanning is free; scanning product and other barcodes is part of Pro. Full-resolution photos Photos now capture at full sensor resolution by default. A new Photo Resolution setting — Maximum, Balanced, or Fast — lets you choose detail or speed, and turning HDR off now keeps full image quality, changing only the HDR look. Faster quick capture Start a timer from the Lock Screen or Control Center, and re-arm a countdown without unlocking. New Siri and Shortcuts recipes set up a complete capture — duration, lens, Look, and photo format — from a single phrase. Apple Watch A live countdown now appears in the Smart Stack while a timer is running. Accessibility New VoiceOver rotor actions let you Save, Share, Delete, or Read Details on a photo. Locked Pro controls are clearer and fully legible, every glass control respects Reduce Transparency, and a new high-contrast accent is available. Countdown digits scale with Dynamic Type without clipping, and haptics respect Reduce Motion. Privacy and data control You can now see and copy your anonymous analytics ID in Settings, and use it to request deletion of the exact records tied to your install. It resets if you reinstall. Reliability The camera opens ready to shoot in Photo mode while keeping your last lens and zoom. Portrait selfies save upright, video starts and stops cleanly, lens switching stays responsive, and side-button capture recovers gracefully when a call or another app interrupts. Plus many smaller refinements throughout.
