Turn any idea into a story

Fresh fill-in-the-blank stories about anything you want!
Hold onto your hats (and your fish), and dive into the only infinite "Mad Libs"-style story generator! Whether you want a slapstick comedy starring a flightless bird or a high-fantasy quest for the Golden Egg, you're the author now. Here's what's in store:
Your Own Stories
Turn any idea into a wacky fill-in-the-blank story, written just for you. A walrus who accidentally becomes a K-pop star? A lovable robot saving Earth from an asteroid made of pie? There's always another story waiting, so you'll never run out of laughs.
Never-Ending Sagas
Found a story you absolutely love? Don't let it end! You can continue any story with additional chapters, turning a quick joke into an epic, century-spanning sea lion civilization.
Direct the Action
Don't just fill the blanks, call the shots. Set the scene with a custom story prompt, and pick the direction for every chapter. You decide if the hero finds the treasure or gets stuck in a bowl of jelly!
Time is on Your Side
Whether you're waiting for the bus or settling in for a cozy weekend, we've got you covered. Choose your chapter length for a 5-minute giggle or an afternoon novel.
Hang with Your Flock
Stories are better together! Fill in a story, then send it to Grandma, your best friend, or the whole family group chat. They fill in the same blanks with their own words at tellmeapenguin.com, no download needed. Then see how your "Action-Packed Spy Thriller" becomes their "Fairy Tale Disaster."

From the Developer
I made Tell Me a Penguin for my own kids, who, like me, are inveterate goofballs. It's built and run by one parent, so every review, share, and bit of feedback really helps other families find it. Thank you for telling stories with us!

• Never miss a story! When you run out, tap "Notify me when I can write more" and we'll let you know the moment the penguins are ready. No account needed.
• Sharing is more fun for friends and family. When you send someone a story, they see your silly version right away, with no sign-in.
• Keep playing offline. Your library stays put, the words you fill in are saved, and everything catches up once you're back online.
• Easier-to-read colors and a few layout fixes.
