CitizenReady: US Civics Test
US Citizenship Test Prep
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
CitizenReady helps you prepare for the US naturalization civics test with a structured, personalized study plan — not just a list of 128 questions to memorize.
HOW IT WORKS
CitizenReady uses two proven learning methods together:
Thematic lessons group related questions into 13 topics — the Constitution, Branches of Government, Civil War, Geography, and more — so you understand the material, not just the answer. Each lesson includes plain-English explanations, visual diagrams, and a short knowledge check.
Daily flashcard drills use spaced repetition to surface the questions you struggle with more often and the ones you know well less often. The app learns your weak spots and focuses your time there.
PERSONALIZED FOR WHERE YOU LIVE
Some civics questions depend on your state — your governor, your US senators, your state capital. CitizenReady fills in the correct answers for your location automatically, so you study the right answers for your interview.
TRACK YOUR READINESS
A single readiness score combines how much of the material you have covered, how well you know the flashcards, and how you performed on knowledge checks. You can see exactly which topics are solid and which need more work — before you walk into your interview.
The app also keeps its content current. When USCIS updates the civics test or elections change state officials, CitizenReady checks for updates automatically and refreshes the relevant answers.
DESIGNED FOR ALL LEARNERS
Plain English throughout. No civics background required. Built for eighth-grade reading level so the focus stays on learning, not decoding the app.
65/20 EXEMPTION SUPPORT
If you are 65 or older and have been a permanent resident for 20 or more years, you qualify to take a shorter version of the test. CitizenReady has a dedicated mode that focuses your study on the 20-question starred subset.
PRIVACY FIRST
No account required. All your progress is stored on your device. CitizenReady does not collect personal data or track your usage.
---
CitizenReady is an independent study tool. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by USCIS. Always verify current answers at uscis.gov before your interview.
