Barakah Life 1.3.0: a new Barakah Life The whole app is redesigned around a living sky. It follows your day from the first light of Fajr to the stars of Isha, with a lantern for each prayer, and every screen is calmer and easier to read. FRIDAYS, AND EVERY DAY • Ayah for today, chosen from 429 ayahs that speak on their own, with their own sets for Fridays, Ramadan and Dhul Hijjah. • On Friday your reminders open with Jumu'ah Mubarak, and Surah al-Kahf keeps its own place until Isha. • Opening an ayah from a reminder or a card no longer moves your place in the Quran. THE QURAN • Recite along: Barakah Life listens across the whole surah, lights each word as you say it, and marks a slip only when it is sure. • Hifz from memory, with the words hidden. Mark what you already know and it goes straight to gentle review. • Every way of reading counts: Habit Builder, Mushaf, Study, Auto and Focus. YOUR HOME SCREEN • New widgets with deep time-of-day skies, and a Lock Screen widget with all five prayers. • Nine app icons to choose from, including one for the sky of each prayer. FOR SISTERS, FREE • A private cycle tracker that follows your school, with the source behind every ruling, a count of the fasts you owe and an optional Face ID lock. • Sourced guidance for pregnancy, loss, waiting for a child and menopause. ALSO NEW • Made for iPad and iPhone Duo: the sky stretches across the screen and your cards sit side by side. • The Ummah: ask for du'a, and make du'a for others. • 76 badges to earn, with voluntary worship kept private unless you show it. • A halal check for cosmetics, and meat without a halal label now reads as doubtful. • The full Stories of the Prophets series by Mufti Menk, in Lectures. • Short guided tours that show each feature in use. • Barakah Life opens again on iPhones with iOS 15 and 16. Jazakum Allahu khayran for being with us. Please keep us in your du'as.

Barakah Life 1.2.0 Fixes first, so every iPhone gets the same reliable app. • Fixed a launch crash on iPhones running iOS 16. • Fixed a crash when opening the cycle tracker on iOS 17. • Fixed a bug that made some phones forget settings and show the welcome screens again. • The cycle calendar now places every date under the right weekday. • CarPlay, rebuilt. Home opens with Mufti Menk's du'a for travel, then the morning and evening adhkar as full recitations, Ayat al-Kursi, protection du'as and favourite surahs as cards. The Quran tab continues where you stopped, ayah by ayah, in your chosen reciter. • The morning and evening adhkar as full recitations by Mufti Menk, now in the app too. • Hands-free tasbih waits for you to press Start and uses the same layout as the counter. • The Quran reader shows every word and mark exactly as in the Madinah mushaf, at every text size. Indo-Pak script has its own font with every pause and ruku sign. • A redesigned Quran leaderboard with a podium, country flags and your progress since your last visit. • The private cycle tracker now has a place on Today, with gentle reminders based on your own pattern, insights and a count of Ramadan fasts to make up. • Many smaller fixes and refinements. The biggest update Barakah has had. THE QURAN PLAYER, REBUILT • 161 reciters, from the voices you grew up with to new ones from across the ummah, in one searchable list. • Every reciter and every translation is now free. Nothing about reading or listening to the Quran is locked. • The player follows the recitation word by word, with the verse on screen as it is recited. • Begin from any verse, repeat a verse or a whole surah, and set the pace. • Translation audio in ten languages, recited after each verse. • A Home Screen widget and full controls on the Lock Screen: begin, pause and move on without opening the app. • Fixed: the final verse of a surah was being cut short. It is now recited in full. • Fixed: the recitation no longer stops mid-surah on a weak connection. IN THE CAR • Barakah now runs on CarPlay: prayer times, the adhan and the Quran, on the dashboard. • The car no longer waits for the phone. It loads its own catalogue and keeps working on its own. THE SCRIPT YOU LEARNED IT IN • Indo-Pak is now a real script, not a font laid over Uthmani text. The genuine edition, verse and word alike, so the zer sits below the letter where half the ummah learned to find it. • The adhkar follow your choice too. Whatever script and typeface you read the Quran in, the du'as now match. • The Mushaf in Warsh and Qaloon as well, alongside Uthmani and Indo-Pak, chosen from the Quran settings. • Ten tafsirs, four of them free: Ibn Kathir and al-Jalalayn through to at-Tabari and al-Qurtubi. THE THIRTY PARTS • Juz has a face at last. Thirty rows that know their own progress, and the reader names the juz under your eyes as you cross into the next one. • The khatam grid fills itself from what you have actually read. • A juz-a-day card that tells you where today's part begins and takes you to its first unread ayah. • Fixed: juz 30 could never be completed. The last ayah of An-Nas was falling outside the boundary. PRAYER • The countdown to the next prayer now stays on the Lock Screen and in the notification tray through the day. • Alarms sound the full adhan, beginning to end, in the voice you choose. • A dedicated Alarms page, and an alarm beside every prayer in your timings. • The prayer page is one calm column, easier to read at a glance. • Prayer notifications reach more phones: the server backstop now covers schedules it used to miss. THE BOARD • Rankings count hasanat, ten for every letter as the hadith in Tirmidhi counts them, worked out from the letters of all 6,236 ayat. • Each ayah counts once per khatam. Finish all 114, return to Al-Fatiha, and the counting begins again. • Guided readings stay pure worship: full personal credit, no board. GETTING STARTED • Three setup screens instead of eight, and signing in stays optional. • Everyone now opens to the same home screen, with prayer first. ALSO • The 99 Names, recited. • The reader remembers where you made sajdah. • A faster launch, readable light themes, Arabic no longer clipped in share cards, and many small repairs. May Allah accept it from us and from you. Tell us what you find, we read every message.
