Animations in the weather view won't start automatically but now have to be started manually. The weather radar tile resolution will be more detailed when zoomed in and less detailed when zoomed out. Also the translucency of the weather radar overlay will stop at an opacity of 0.5 instead of 0.35 fore better visibility. There is a new color scheme available "Met Service NZ". You now can also show the current location of the ISS and it's path for the upcoming 45 minutes.

Mainly bug fixes related to weather radar overlay and new color scheme.

You now can show the current weather radar overlayed on the main map (not animated) in combination with the lightning strikes. The main map can be desaturated if the weather radar is overlayed to make better visible. You can switch the weather radar and the desaturation on/off in the settings screen. To change the current color scheme for the weather radar overlay, you can long-press the weather radar overlay in the weather view.

Further improved the sunrise/sunset quality prediction by taking clouds at different heights into account.

Made some improvements in the new depth of field view for better readability of the values. Apart from that there is nothing new in this version, just user interface cosmetics.

Some minor cosmetics related to the lightning strike visualization, the initial radius is a little bit bigger and strikes will be kept for up to 5 min if not more than 500 strikes visible. In addition I've switched the base image for the cloud overlay from color to grayscale for a better visualization of the rain overlay graphics. There is now also a field of view calculator that you can reach from the minimum distance calculator. With this one can visualize the depth of field for a given camera/lens combo and also the field size for a given focus distance. This can sometimes be useful if you need to figure out what lens to take when you know the distance to the subject.

In case of weather alerts at the current camera location, you will see an alert icon in the weather view. If you click on the weather altert icon, you will get some detailed information about the current weather alert at the camera location. The app will not show minor severity weather alerts but only moderate (yellow icon), severe (orange icon) and extreme (red icon) weather alerts. For the rain radar it is now also possible to fetch higher resolution radar images (512px tiles instead of 360px tiles), you will find a toggle button in the settings.Satellite images are not available in a higher resolution.

I removed the old cloud emulation because we now have the animated satellite images. In addition you now can enable/disable an overlay of a 5x5 grid of arrows that visualize the wind direction for each time step in the radar and satellite view. Furthermore the current weather conditions now also show info about dew point, humidity, visibility and uv index.

Replaced the view that shows the animation for the rain radar and satellite images with a more user friendly version where you can scrub with your finger through the different frames.

Lightning strikes will now be visualized live when their occur instead of polling them every 20 seconds. The rain radar overlay is now animated incl. a preview for upcoming hours. In addition to the rain radar preview there is also an animated satellite view of the last hours. With this information available you should be able to get an idea about the weather conditions for the camera location. Keep in mind that the rain radar and satellite overlay always represent the current condition and not from the selected date.

You know can search for locations and move the map to the searched location, which is more convenient than panning to the desired location. In the current weather view you now will also find a current rain radar snapshot overlay in addition to the cloud simulation overlay. There is now an experimental feature of a lightning strike overlay that shows the current strikes for the given area with a delay of around 20 sec.

I've reduced the cloud boost factor for the cloud coverage preview feature because the used factor often lead to blown out clouds in the preview.

I've added a cloud overlay feature that one can trigger from the weather forecast window. It's not showing the actual clouds like in a satellite image but a visualization that should give you an idea about the cloud coverage at the shooting location.

Just made sure that only one overlay can be selected at a time, e.g. to avoid having the weather overlay visible at the same time the moon overlay is visible. In addition I've added the lat/lon coordinates to the photo shoot view and added an icon that when tapped will copy the coordinates to the clipboard in case you want to use them in another app e.g. a navigation or map application. Added the Apple Weather attribution to the main view.

Some minor fixes in the sunrise/sunset prediction and in addition I've added a sky clarity indicator to the milky way view to show you if there is a chance of photographing the milky way at all given the current weather conditions.

Replaced the former milky way core view by an overlay with a time slider that gives you a better idea on where the milky way core will show up and about the quality of it's visibility. In addition I've modified the sunrise/sunset prediction in a way that should now also take something like a "cloud canvas sunrise" into account. You can think of a "wall of clouds" that will be lighten up in an orange-red color during sunrise/sunset.

Instead of using 2 locations for the sunrise/sunset prediction, I moved to 3 locations. The new prediction algorithm takes the current camera location, 35km and 75km in direction of the sunrise and sunset into account when predicting the quality of the sunrise and sunset. In addition I've made the observer height variable so that you could adjust it for example when taking pictures from a higher or lower point.

Just a minor fix in the long exposure UI, where it now shows every 2nd hour instead of every 6th hour before.

Just some minor adjustments, the date can now only be selected from today into the future, no past dates. In addition the selected date is shown on top besides the selected camera and lens.

I've added a calculator for the minimum distance to your subject with the selected camera/lens combo and focal length. You can adjust the field width or field height and the calculator will give you the minimum distance you need to fill the frame with the given field size.

I've replaced the vectorized moon phase visualization with a real image of the moon and an overlay which looks way better than the former version. It is now also centered which looks better on iPads.

Fixed a bug in the moon phase calculation which now should show the correct moon phase. Also moved to only gray colors for the moon visualization.

I've added an augmented reality view where the paths of the sun and moon will be overlay over the live camera view. In the bottom of the view you can move back and forth in time to see where the sun and/or moon will be at the selected time. In addition there is now also a feature to show a 24h weather forecast for the camera location. The final feature that was added is an exposure calculator that helps you finding the right exposure time when for example using a ND filter.

I've added a first version of a prediction for long exposure shots. At the current camera position and with the given weather forecast (long exposures also depend on weather, esp. clouds and wind) the app tries to predict a score for taking long exposure shots. It will show you the scores per hour in an overlay (similar to the other overlays).

I've added a visualization for the hyper focal distance to the field of view visualization. An orange dashed line now shows the distance from the camera to the hyper focal distance. Moved the help button to the left of the map style selector and added a button to center the map to the current user location to the right of the map style selector.
