more I’ve been following the app’s development through TestFlight via Reddit for quite a while, and I was genuinely surprised by how quickly the developer responded to ideas and feature requests, and how frequently new features were added. You can really tell that the concept of a training app has been rethought from the ground up, and that approach works incredibly well. I’m genuinely impressed — please keep it up 👍🏻

Per dumbbell, not per half! For dumbbells we now show clearly how the weight counts — per dumbbell, not both together. You can still take your water break at minute 22, of course. Kick-off!
1.1.8 Oct 5
Hey,
vacation season is around the corner, and the hotel gym is usually a sad affair: three adjustable dumbbells, an elliptical from 2009, and not a shred of WiFi. That's exactly what this update is for.
New:
1. Hotel mode: No signal at the hotel or on the beach? Doesn't matter. You can still view your exercises and swap them for whatever's actually lying around. No more blank screen just because "Lobby_Guest_2" is acting up again.
2. Negative tempo during training: When editing a set, you can now pick the eccentric seconds directly — not just beforehand in the plan.
Fixed (a.k.a. things that annoyed me too):
3. Cardio exercises were buried at the bottom when adding them — now there's a dedicated "Cardio" tab up top, and the names are finally translated instead of stubbornly German.
4. The rest timer on the lock screen no longer freezes like a cocktail at the pool bar.
5. Bilateral exercises were multiplying like towels on loungers — not anymore. And the rest comes at the right time: left, right, then rest.
6. The plate calculator kept its result to itself — now the weight lands straight in the set, on iPhone and Watch.
7. When you swap or jump to a different exercise, the Watch and Live Activity now move along instantly instead of waking up at the next set.
8. The set feedback prompt (easy/perfect/hard/failed) could be turned off but still showed up — persistent little thing. Now it stays gone. And it was still entirely German, now translated.
Get after it, even on vacation. But don't overdo it — the Coach is up for a break at the bar too.

Hi,
new version with a lot of small stuff you reported — plus a big language update: the app is now fully translated into German, English, Spanish and French. Before, some hidden spots still had German text; that should be gone now.
What's changed:
- The coach now lets you decide how elaborate the recipes should be (quick / balanced / more elaborate). Default is "quick", so you don't constantly get something with tahini and pak choi.
- Coach recipes can be saved straight to the cookbook again.
- A silly language bug is gone where the coach translated English input back into German.
- The photo calorie estimate now honestly says that it's an estimate.
And a few annoying training bugs that got fixed along the way:
1. Rest timer in the Live Activity: let the screen sleep during a rest. The countdown used to freeze — now it should keep running.
2. Turn a superset into a normal set mid-workout (tap the set → change the type). The rest should start afterwards. It didn't before.
3. Finish the last set of an exercise on the Watch — the rest timer should now run on the Watch too, not just on the iPhone.
4. Look at a drop set on the Watch — it now shows "DROP" and the reduced weight, instead of looking like a normal set.
5. After a workout, share your card and then adopt the plan — the buttons should stay put and not run through on their own.
Have fun training,
Falko

Version 1.1.2
Your Apple Watch just got smarter: it now shows you what kind of set is coming up – drop set, max reps, superset, which side you're on for single-arm work, and it'll even tell you when to lower the weight slowly. No more reaching for your iPhone.
We also finally sorted out the single-side sets (left first, then right) that occasionally lost count in spectacular fashion. They behave now.
Plus smaller fixes for drop sets, the new-record banner, and all sorts of under-the-hood polish.
1.1.2 Jun 13
Version 1.1.1
The AI Coach sometimes had a habit of beautifully describing a training plan for you — and then somehow forgetting to actually hand it over.We taught it better. Now, when the Coach suggests a plan, you can actually add and use it.
We also cleaned up the exercise editor: notes moved to the top, “Add Set” is finally where the sets actually are, and all the advanced stuff (drop sets, tempo, unilateral exercises, cardio) now lives neatly together under “Advanced Set Options”.
Plus the usual small improvements under the hood.
1.1.1 Jun 12
Version 1.1 — Cardio grows up
The biggest Trainiq update yet makes cardio a true equal alongside strength training.
GPS MAP FOR EVERY RUN
Every outdoor session shows your route on the map — switch between three views: clean, colored by PACE (green to red), or by HEART RATE ZONE. See at a glance where you pushed harder and where that hill was. Plus kilometer splits, elevation gain, and time spent in each heart rate zone.
INDOOR OR OUTDOOR
Before you start, choose your activity and location. For running, “indoor” simply means “treadmill” — and distance comes from your steps instead of GPS.
LIVE ON YOUR WRIST AND LOCK SCREEN
Your run appears as a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. Live heart rate comes from your Apple Watch or AirPods Pro.
EASIER TODAY
On days when sleep, heart rate variability, or — if you track it in Apple Health — your cycle suggests taking it easier, the app offers a lighter session when you start: slightly lower weights, a little more rest, and optionally one less set. Only for this one session. Your plan stays untouched. Cycle data always stays exclusively on your device.
RECORDS DESERVE TO BE CELEBRATED
New personal best on an exercise? A golden banner, a little celebration moment, and your Apple Watch taps your wrist.
MUSCLE MAP FOR EVERYONE
After every workout, an anatomical front/back body map shows exactly which muscles worked and how much — with female or male anatomy, matching you.
ALSO INCLUDED
Cardio sessions can now be added directly to your training plans.
Plus many improvements under the hood: workouts sync more reliably to Apple Fitness, cardio calories are tracked correctly, and GPS routes are saved properly.
Have fun training.

Apple is showing off the new betas at WWDC today — and somehow the timing is perfect: our Nutrition section is leaving beta at the exact same moment. While Cupertino is still saying “coming this fall”, we’re saying: it’s already here.
Nutrition — fully grown up, no more beta sticker
This is the update we’re really proud of:
Quick Log: Your most-used foods as one-tap chips. Same coffee every morning? Same yogurt bowl? One tap, done.
- “Same as usual?”: The app recognizes your typical meal combinations and suggests them before you even start searching.
- Free Text Logging: Just type “2 eggs, toast and an apple” — the Coach calculates the values. No messing around with grams.
- End-of-day helper: “Finish my day” gives you three high-protein suggestions that exactly fill your remaining gaps.
- Go back in time: Browse previous days and add anything you forgot.
- Macros per meal: Protein, carbs, and fat — broken down by breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Not just one big daily pile.
Plate Calculator — no more gym math
Want 87.5 kg on the bar? The app instantly tells you which plates you need on each side — using only the plates you actually have available (just tell it once what your gym has). On iPhone directly inside the exercise. On Apple Watch with the Digital Crown: turn the crown, and the plates update live. Feels like Apple invented the crown exactly for this.
40+ new exercises + fresh images
From Wall Balls, Sled Push, and Devil Press to Lat Pulldown machines, Hack Squats, and Smith Machine Bench Press — all with our anatomical illustrations showing exactly which muscles are working.
The AI Coach actually understands your context now
It knows today’s workout (sets, weights) AND your nutrition status. “You’re still missing 40g of protein, grab some yogurt” instead of generic advice.
And the usual small stuff
Apple Watch now properly finishes workouts instead of getting stuck in an endless pause. A few annoying crashes and a stupid keyboard bug are gone. Snow Leopard energy, basically.
Watch the keynote — we’ll be watching too. After that: hit the gym.

Hola! Salut! And hello — Trainiq now speaks more languages than your taxi driver on vacation.
What changed:
Languages
* Trainiq is now available in English, German, Spanish, and French — including the AI Coach, who no longer secretly switches back to German the second nobody is watching.
Training
* Add exercises spontaneously — even in the middle of a workout: type the name, done. Images, instructions, and targeted muscles are added automatically. Only applies to the current session, your plan stays clean. (Finally, Daniel.)
* Trash: accidentally deleted an exercise? No drama — it stays available for recovery for 30 days.
* Drop sets completely reworked: both stages are directly editable, cleaner mechanics, and a whole collection of stupid bugs has been thrown out (empty page before the drop, disappearing weight, the legendary "stage 3 of 2").
* More exercise images and instructions — many more exercises now actually show you how it's done.
* The plan update prompt after workouts is back: if you increase your weights, Trainiq asks at the end whether those changes should be saved to your plan.
* Supersets on Apple Watch now alternate correctly (A1 → B1 → A2 → B2 …) instead of stubbornly completing all sets of one exercise first and then the other — just like it has always worked on iPhone.
* The "set completed" bar now sits perfectly above the keyboard, with the DONE pill properly placed on top — the weird transparent gap is history.
* Live Activity on the lock screen reliably shows weight/reps again — even when you're working your way up set by set.
* The "CURRENT EXERCISE" banner finally got over its center-of-attention phase and no longer sits in the middle of the screen.
* Push Music starts instantly — no more 10 seconds of respectful silence where you wonder if the app is still alive.
Apple Watch
* The Watch app now installs and connects reliably with iPhone again.
* Single-sided exercises (left/right) no longer trigger a ghost rest timer that briefly appears and disappears again.
Cardio & Running
* Cardio tab cleaned up: weather nicely on top, running plan where it belongs underneath.
* Weekly progress finally counts actual runs instead of calendar pages.
* Running weather widget: shows the correct weekdays and now loads reliably.
Nutrition
* Looking at previous days was… not exactly solved elegantly before. Now you can comfortably move back day by day using the arrows, or tap the calendar icon at the top and jump straight to a specific date. Lost somewhere in the past? The Today button instantly beams you back to the here and now. (Suggested by Armin — huge thanks!)
* Every meal now shows its macros directly: breakfast, lunch, dinner — carbs, protein, and fat at a glance, without having to tap into every single entry.
And everything else
* Streaks now count consecutive workouts (up to 3 rest days are allowed) instead of blindly counting calendar days. Before, everyone proudly sat at "1" — it tried.
* Coach meals now have a "give me something else" button, and suggestions come back as a clean list instead of wallpaper made out of bullet points.

What's new in 1.0.4:
Push Music used to take a full 10 seconds before it actually started playing — which is rough when you're mid-set and the room just goes quiet. Now the first song kicks in instantly, the rest loads in the background.
The Live Activity on the lock screen was hiding weight and reps for "ascending" sets — pretty useless given that's exactly the info you want to see right then. Fixed.
The "CURRENT EXERCISE" banner was sitting in the middle of the screen on some iPhones instead of pinned to the bottom where it belongs. Looks normal again.
The top of the Cardio tab used to be this weird hybrid hero, half weather half run plan, that mostly just confused people. Now it's clean weather up top, the run plan sits below where it belongs.
Run plan progress was broken: it only counted elapsed time, not your actual runs. Now it counts your real runs from the Health app.
The streak counter in the widget was broken too: it counted consecutive calendar days instead of workouts, so on a normal split (Mon/Wed/Fri etc.) you could never get past 1. Now it counts workouts in a row — up to 3 rest days between two workouts are fine.
The Coach was missing an "Alternatives" button after meal recommendations — a lot of people didn't realize they could just ask for other options. Now the button is right there every time. And alternatives come back as a clean list instead of a wall of bullet points.
Anonymous usage analytics are on by default starting with this version. This helps me see which exercises you create yourself that we don't yet have instructions or images for. No user IDs, no workout data, no IDFA — switchable off in the settings anytime, with a detailed breakdown of what goes out and what doesn't.
Plus a small typo fix on the Pro upgrade screen.

1.0.4 May 30
Cardio finally looks the way it should: there's a new Hero card with an hourly weather forecast, so you don’t have to step outside just to find out you're about to get completely soaked. For every hour you can see temperature, wind, and chance of rain.
Cycle tracking is in — and it works the way you'd expect from a training app. Trainiq reads your cycle data from Apple Health (you need to explicitly grant permission, otherwise nothing happens) and displays your cycle day and phase next to your Recovery Score. Why this is useful: lower HRV and a slightly elevated resting heart rate during menstruation or the luteal phase are biologically normal — if you can see these phases, you'll understand that a lower Recovery Score doesn't automatically mean you're sick or overtrained. On the other hand: during the follicular phase and around ovulation, peak performance is common — often great days for intense strength training. The coach also knows your current phase, but it won't bring it up unprompted. It's completely optional, double-gated, with no pop-ups, no reminders, and no "take it easy today" messaging. Just data that helps you put your numbers into context.
Statistics now has a new "At a Glance" section at the top with your most important numbers from the last 30 days.
Trainiq now also speaks English and mostly Spanish. If your app runs in English, the coach will respond in English too — previously that wasn't the case, and it was pretty annoying for international users.
Plus: workouts are now saved to Apple Health much more reliably. There used to be a silent bug that swallowed around 85% of HealthKit saves if you swiped away the Effort Rating instead of tapping it. Honestly feels like a new feature.
