FairShare: Couples Mental Load
Fair Play Family Organizer
Only for iPhone
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPhone. Not verified for macOS.
Now made for iPhone Duo. Not a chore chart, not a bill splitter: FairShare turns the mental load into cards you share, and rebalances it in one calm check-in a week.
FairShare — the mental load OS for couples. Not a chore chart, not a bill splitter.
You're not crazy. You're carrying a lot. FairShare helps you split the invisible work, so your partner owns whole areas of household life — not just "helps" when asked.
Inspired by Eve Rodsky's Fair Play method, FairShare replaces chore charts with over 100 cards. Each card is full ownership: Conceive, Plan, Execute. No more delegating. No more reminding. No more mental load running your life.
WHY FAIRSHARE IS DIFFERENT
• Card-based, not task-based — own the whole domain, not one-off tasks
• AI Brain Dump — say what's on your mind; we turn it into cards
• Noticing Score — the only app that measures who notices what needs doing, not just who does it
• Visualizer heat map — see the invisible load made visible
• A shared docket — recurring cards come back when they're actually due, instead of quietly settling forever
• Built for every household — two-parent, same-sex, single, blended, roommates
• Weekly check-ins — renegotiate with kindness, not blow-ups
• Minimum Standard of Care — no more "but you didn't tell me how"
KEY FEATURES
AI mental load interceptor
Speak or type what's running through your head. The AI turns it into clean cards across Home, Kids, Out, Wild, and Unicorn — and suggests who should own each one.
100+ card deck
Every domain covered. Filtered to your household shape during onboarding, so you only see what's relevant to your life.
Invisible load visualizer
Dashboard heat map of who holds what. Track imbalance and watch it shift over time.
Noticing Score
The signature number: how much of the household's noticing — the invisible "I'll remember it" work — lands on you. Tap a card to rebalance, then share your Report Card to start the conversation.
Weekly Re-deal
About 15 minutes a week. Structured, calm prompts to renegotiate cards and update Minimum Standards of Care without the resentment loop.
Renegotiation Coach
One card not working? Say what's off in your own words. You get a no-blame reframe, three concrete ways to re-deal it, and one question to ask each other out loud.
The Unicorn card
Your hobbies, friendships, dreams. Protect your own bandwidth — it's a card too.
Built for all households
Two-parent, same-sex, single-parent + co-parent, blended, roommates, solo, multigenerational.
Calendar sync (FairShare+)
Two-way iOS Calendar, MSC reminders, fewer dropped balls.
Facilitator mode (FairShare+)
Invite a certified Fair Play coach for a session with read-only board access.
SUBSCRIPTION
FairShare Free — up to 20 cards, 5 Brain Dumps per month, one weekly check-in, basic visualizer.
FairShare+ unlocks unlimited cards, unlimited AI Brain Dumps, full visualizer, MSC library, calendar sync, partner-share mode, facilitator invite, and priority support. 7-day free trial. One subscription covers your whole household.
Pricing shown in app. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings.
PRIVACY & CARE
Your data is yours. Encrypted at rest. We don't sell your data or train AI models on your conversations. GDPR- and CCPA-aligned. Export or delete your data anytime.

Welcome to a lighter load.
more Made for iPhone Duo.
• FairShare now fills both screens of iPhone Duo. Folded, it uses the new side toolbar; open, Home, Check-in and the Visualizer settle into calm, centred columns instead of stretching edge to edge.
• On the open screen, the Cards tab shows your deck and the card you tapped side by side, so you can read and assign cards without going back and forth.
Also in this update:
• Tapping a notification while FairShare is in the background no longer closes the app.
• Done and Remind me tomorrow on a card reminder now work reliably from the lock screen.
• Brain Dump writes your cards in the app's language and always uses your name.
• The Brain Dump "Add cards" button is now translated.

Invite your partner while you set up.
• Setup can now send a real invite. Tap "Invite them now" and your partner gets a link straight away, so you can both set up at the same time. Before, setup could only promise to remind you later.
• The person you invite now sees who it's from — your name, your avatar and how many cards are waiting — before they're asked to sign in.
• Partners who don't have FairShare yet get the App Store link in the same message, so the invite never dead-ends.
• When they join, your shared deck reaches their phone much faster.
A shorter setup.
• Fewer screens before you're in: the tour, the loading screen and the mood check-in are gone (mood is still on Home), and "Both sides of the load" now sits on the same screen as your household details.
• The first load sort asks about 8 cards instead of 12, and "Skip for now" skips it entirely.
• Leave setup halfway and your answers are still there when you come back.
Also in this update:
• Add your own photo in Settings › Profile if you like. Only the people in your household see it; without one, your avatar stays
• New illustrated icons in the tab bar, on every card category and throughout setup
• FairShare makes fewer network requests when it opens, and Home no longer redraws itself every minute

Finished work stays counted.
• Complete a one-off card and it used to vanish from every number — the work was done, and the app forgot it had happened. The Visualizer has a new "What got done" section: a 30-day view of everything either of you ticked off, weighted by effort, including one-offs that leave the deck once they're finished.
• The fairness split above it still counts cards held, not cards completed. Those are two different questions, and who carries a card is the one this app is about.
A card count you can trust.
• Home could count cards from a household you'd left behind. After loading sample content — or setting your household up again — Home's deck count ran higher than your Cards tab, the load meter sat full, and old cards could surface in today's list and in rebalance suggestions. Home now counts exactly what the Cards tab counts.
• Help › Load sample content no longer leaves the previous sample deck behind
Also new in 3.1.3, in case you just updated:
• FairShare now shows its first screen straight away instead of waiting on the subscription check
• Settings › Household has a new Sync row: when you last synced with your partner, or a clear "Sync failed" with a Retry button. Until now a failed sync was invisible and could look like a partner who never does anything
• Every button now follows the language set on your iPhone; a handful of labels were still rendering in English in the other eleven languages

Faster to open, and sync you can see.

3.1.3 Sep 21
Card reminders can now be dealt with from the lock screen, and we ask for your opinion far less often.
• Long-press a card reminder and you'll find two buttons. "Done" ticks the card off without opening FairShare, and "Remind me tomorrow" moves it 24 hours without touching the card's own due date
• A snooze now survives a force-quit. Before, the next launch quietly restored the original reminder and it would fire again at the old time
• Reminders that arrive while FairShare is open now show as a banner instead of being swallowed
• The occasional "how are we doing?" ask has a third route: "I have an idea" opens a private message to us rather than a public review, because a feature request left as a review is one we can't reply to
• That ask is also much rarer — at most once a month, three times in the life of an install, and never again once you've left a review

3.1.2 Sep 16
A fix that came straight from a user report: the balance now counts only the cards you're actually carrying.
• Archived and retired cards were still being counted in your load. The Visualizer now shows exactly the deck the Cards tab shows, so the two numbers finally agree
• The big number now says what it measures. It's weighted by effort, not a count of cards — a heavy card counts three times a light one, which is why it was never meant to match your card total
• FairShare no longer calls a lopsided split fair. Reaching the Fair Play threshold now also asks that the lighter side holds at least a quarter of the cards, and the app says "Fair Play threshold reached" instead of passing judgement on your household
• You can set your own fairness threshold as high as 50 cards, so a large deck can express something close to even
• The fairness threshold also stopped counting cards from old households, which could quietly scale the target to the wrong number

3.1.1 Sep 5
Now it tells you what's actually due — and helps you re-deal what isn't working.
• What's due, without the guesswork — recurring cards come back on their own rhythm instead of settling forever, and today's spotlight shows what's actually on each of your plates
• Stuck on a card? The new Renegotiation Coach talks it through in your weekly check-in: a no-blame reframe, three concrete ways to re-deal it, and one question to ask each other out loud
• “Both of us” is now a real answer — cards you genuinely share stop looking unfinished. They stay outside the balance, on purpose
• Say thanks — when your partner finishes a card, one tap sends them a little appreciation. It's waiting on their home screen the next time they open the app
• New home-screen widget: today's cards, your balance, and what your partner finished — at a glance, without opening the app
• Completions now sync: when one of you finishes a card, the other's app knows
• "Paired but not syncing", fixed for good: if your app was quietly attached to the wrong household (an old pairing bug), it now finds the right one on launch and reconnects itself — cards, counts and your partner's changes flow again
• FairShare now tells you when a new version is out, so you're both always on the latest fixes

Your standards stay yours.
• Suggest now adds to your Minimum Standard of Care instead of replacing it — your own bullets stay exactly where you wrote them, and you pick which suggestions to keep
• Edit or delete any standard, one bullet at a time
• Joining your partner's household is fixed end to end: no more crash on launch, your card deck no longer arrives twice, and you land in the right household the first time
• Invited partners now get FairShare+ automatically — one subscription really does cover you both
• Plan prices on the subscription screen now show the right billing period
• Fixed: pairing with your partner could leave you with two of every starter-deck card. Existing duplicates now clean themselves up automatically on both boards — the copy that keeps your assignments and notes is the one that stays, and anything you archived on purpose stays archived
• Card counts and balance numbers are accurate again once the duplicates are gone
• Syncing now checks with the server before sending your deck for the first time, so the duplicates can't come back
• If you tidied duplicates by hand — thank you, and sorry. This update takes that job off your list

FairShare now speaks German — plus clearer subscription controls.
• Vollständig auf Deutsch: onboarding, plans, and AI Brain Dump replies now follow your language
• Turned off auto-renewal? The app now shows exactly what stays unlocked and until when — and changing your mind is one tap
• "Restore Purchases" and the rate-FairShare flow are now more dependable
• Under the hood: product improvements can now reach you without waiting for an app update
FairShare now remembers the pattern, so you don't have to relive it.
• Pattern Memory (FairShare+) — AI reads your check-in history and names the recurring flashpoint in plain language, so the same fight stops being a surprise.

2.1.0 Aug 8
A small release that listens better.
• Special offers now unlock the moment you open the app — if we grant your account a promotion, it's just there. No reinstall, no hunting for Restore.
• Changed your mind about FairShare+? The cancel screen now takes an optional note straight to our team. We read every one — it decides what we build next.
• "Rate FairShare" now reliably opens the App Store review page (it was shy before).
• Under the hood: subscriptions now follow your household account, so partner benefits and support work smoothly across devices.

Your home. Your feelings. Your data. 2.0.3 is about all three staying yours.
• Mood trendline — your check-ins, averaged week by week, now chart right under your balance trend in the Visualizer. See whether re-dealing the work changes how the week actually feels.
• Private by design — the mood line is drawn from your own check-ins, on your own device. It never syncs to your partner.
• Export my data — download everything FairShare stores about your household as one file (Settings → Privacy)
• Delete all data — one button erases your data from this device and our servers, and returns the app to a fresh start
• Security hardening and reliability improvements under the hood

2.0.1 Jun 30
FairShare can now hold how you FEEL, not just what you carry.
Mental load is exhausting because it's invisible — and so is its toll on your mood. 2.0 makes that connection visible:
• Mood check-in — in 10 seconds, place yourself on a feelings grid (energy + pleasantness) and name the exact emotion, from "overwhelmed" to "content"
• Tie it to the load — link a feeling to the card you were carrying when it hit
• Weekly mood trends — see your emotional week at a glance
• AI Reflection (FairShare+) — a warm, plain-language read on how this week's feelings line up with the load you notice but your partner does
• Private by design — mood notes are encrypted on your device, never synced, and never sent to AI. Only anonymous counts power the reflection.
Plus reliability improvements under the hood.

• Mental Load Audit — a 2-minute card sort that reveals the gap between who you THINK does more and who actually carries the invisible work
• Perception Gap reveal — see your real split, with a shareable poster for your partner or the group chat
• One subscription now covers both partners — when you subscribe, your partner gets FairShare+ free, no second payment
• Start with a 7-day free trial on any plan
• Manage or cancel your subscription anytime, right inside Settings
• Stability and performance improvements

1.1.2 Jun 17
The mental load isn't just doing the work — it's noticing it needs doing in the first place. This update makes that visible:
• Noticing Score — see who's really carrying the invisible "I'll remember it" load, not just who checks off tasks
• Conceive Gap in the Visualizer — who notices vs. who does, side by side
• Rebalance Path — tap a card to see how handing it off shifts your balance
• Shareable Report Card — send your noticing split to your partner or group chat
• AI-polished readings — a warm, plain-language take on what your numbers mean
• Privacy and reliability improvements under the hood

1.1.1 Jun 12
NEW in 1.1.0:
- Noticing Score: a single number for the invisible part of the load—how much of the noticing you carry, not just the tasks.
- Notice / Do split: on any card, set who notices a job needs doing and who actually does it. The gap between them is the mental load, finally visible.
- One-tap Rebalance: simulate handing cards off, watch the load even out, then apply it for real. No nagging, no chore chart—just a fairer split.
Still here, now sharper:
- AI Brain Dump—just talk, and we sort the swirl into cards.
- Visualizer heat map and Weekly check-ins to keep the balance honest.
- A 100+ card deck built for every kind of household.
You're not crazy. You're carrying a lot. Let's make it fair.
1.1.0 Jun 10
• Personalized setup — we build your plan around your household: kids, pets, aging parents, the lot
• See the invisible load before you commit, right inside onboarding
• A cleaner, calmer FairShare+ screen — social proof and trust, no pressure
• Gentle nudges during your free trial so nothing slips through
• Card due-date reminders and clearer card ownership at a glance
• Smoother, more reliable purchases and restores

1.0.8 Jun 3
A smoother trial, a clearer paywall, and a few quiet fixes.
• Your 7-day free trial now greets you right at the top of the paywall — no fine-print hunting.
• We'll nudge you a few times during your trial with what to try next (a Brain Dump, the Visualizer, inviting your partner). One per day at most, and only if you've started a trial.
• The paywall now appears at the moment you've felt FairShare work — right after your first Brain Dump — instead of mid-onboarding.
• Better error messages when a purchase is cancelled or can't be completed.
Thank you for sharing the load with us. — culi
1.0.7 May 21
• Fixed an issue where upgrading to FairShare Plus could silently fail without a clear message.
• Added a "Restore Purchases" flow that tells you when there's nothing to restore vs. when something actually went wrong.
• Added an "Upgrade to Plus" banner on Home so you can subscribe any time — no need to dig through Settings.
• Polish and stability improvements.
1.0.6 May 14
Made for iPhone Duo.
