Photograph the page, or every page if the recipe runs on, and FamilyPlate reads the ingredients and method into a meal you can check before you save it. If the page has a photo of the dish, that comes across too. The page is read on your iPhone. Part of Pro. IMPORT FROM INSTAGRAM Found dinner in a post or a reel? Share it to FamilyPlate, or copy its link and paste it into Import from Instagram in the Library's + menu, and the recipe in the caption becomes a meal. When the caption points to a recipe website, FamilyPlate follows the link and imports the full recipe from there. Works with public posts. Reading a caption is part of Pro. SHARE FROM MORE APPS FamilyPlate now shows up in the share sheet of apps that share a link as text, not just Safari.

Now you can see what the week will cost. WHAT THE SHOP WILL COST The shopping list adds up what your week comes to — a total at the top, a figure on each row, in your region's currency. These are our own estimates rather than any shop's prices, and when too little of a list can be priced to be useful, it says so instead of guessing. A NOTE ON ANY DAY Say why a night has no dinner. "Away until Sunday", "Conor's birthday", "eating out" — a note sits on the day whether or not a meal is planned, so the next person to open the week doesn't have to ask. A NUDGE BEFORE THE WEEK STARTS An optional reminder to plan the week, Sunday afternoon by default. Change the day and time, or turn it off, in Settings. FIXES Notes and Tags in the meal editor wouldn't take the cursor on meals with a photo, and clearing a field didn't always stick. Both fixed. Pull to refresh no longer reports you offline on a healthy connection, and a change made on one device now reaches the others without a manual refresh.

Ask for a week, get a whole week. A FULL WEEK, NOT A HALF ONE Generate now fills every night rather than whatever it happened to name. If it can only manage part of the week it says so, and one more tap finishes the job. It also tells you why it picked what it picked, and you can undo the whole thing in one go. COOKS FOR THE WHOLE HOUSEHOLD Generated weeks and meal suggestions now respect every member's dietary restrictions, not only the person who asked. If one of you avoids something, it stays off the plan. MEALS THAT LOOK LIKE FOOD Meals created by FamilyPlate now come with a tile that matches the dish instead of a generic one. A SMARTER MODEL BEHIND IT Suggestions and insights run on a stronger model, so the picks are less repetitive and the reasoning is better. Plus fixes for a handful of problems found in testing.

Paste the link — or share the page straight from Safari — and it lands in your library with the photo, ingredients, and steps filled in. SHARE A MEAL Send any meal as a link.
