Linger is a slower way to decide whether you want to meet someone.
You have one active pairing at a time. Instead of browsing a feed or swiping through profiles, you exchange one short letter per day for seven days. Each letter is deliberately delayed until the following morning.
That fixed cadence is the product. There is no public feed, swipe deck, likes counter, multiple-match inbox, or real-time chat.
ONE PERSON AT A TIME
Linger keeps the experience focused on a single private pairing. You see a first name, age range, city, a shared interest, and a shared answer.
ONE LETTER A DAY
Letters are capped at 500 characters. A daily prompt can help start a thoughtful exchange, but there is no pressure to answer it. Before a letter is scheduled, Linger checks it for prohibited contact information, threats, and explicit requests.
A DEFINED ENDING
After seven days, both people may opt into a curated real-world plan. If either person passes, the line closes cleanly. No streaks, penalties, or retention games.
SAFETY AND CONTROL
Block and report controls remain visible throughout the pairing and letter experience. Account deletion is available inside Settings.
Linger is for adults who want a quiet, intentional correspondence experience that may lead to meeting in person. It is not designed to maximize time in the app.

Write your first letter before you are paired.
Until now, joining meant waiting on a screen with nothing to do until someone
else arrived. You can now write your opening letter straight away and rewrite
it as often as you like. It is held — nothing is sent — and becomes Day 1 the
moment you are paired, so a new correspondence opens with something to read
instead of two people each waiting for the other to go first.
Also in this release:
- Pairings now match on city, so the Day 7 plan is somewhere you can both reach.
- Curated venues for Lagos alongside Dallas.
- Opting in to meet on Day 7 is now recorded for both people, and a suggested
place is shared with your partner rather than discarded.
- A pairing now ends after its seven days instead of staying open indefinitely.
