Chaos Camera Lab

Photography, remixed.

Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Turn real scenes into vivid color experiments with 16 Chaos presets, tactile grain, reusable recipes, tap-to-focus capture, and a cleaner photo-first workflow. Chaos Camera Lab turns ordinary scenes into unpredictable, collectible color worlds. This is not a traditional filter camera. Chaos remaps the colors inside each photo, adds tactile digital grain, and gives every image its own strange visual character. Shoot with the built-in 4:5 camera or import a photo, then explore looks ranging from soft and dreamlike to stark, graphic, spectral, and broken. Explore 16 distinct Chaos styles: Chaos, Soft, Poster, Acid, Dream, Noir, Thermal, Prism, Solar, Xerox, Signal, Infra, Ghost, Bleach, Mosaic, and Emulsion. When you discover a look worth keeping, save its recipe. Each recipe preserves the preset, palette, tuning, name, and code behind the image, so you can apply the same visual logic to a completely different scene later. Features: • A focused 4:5 camera with tap to focus and multiple zoom choices • 16 visually distinct Chaos presets • Expressive color remapping and textured grain • Photo Library import for remixing existing images • Hold the result to compare it with the original • Reusable recipes with names, palettes, and shareable codes • Recipe Lab for building custom color looks • Chaos Roll sessions and stylized contact sheets • A local gallery and Recipe Passport • High-quality image export to Photos Chaos Camera Lab is made for fast experimentation, happy accidents, and photographers who want an image to become something unexpected. Your photos and recipes stay on your device. Chaos Camera Lab does not collect personal data.

Chaos Camera Lab 2.0 turns individual experiments into a creative system you can refine, reuse, collect, and share. NEW • Recipe Studio replaces Recipe Lab with a more focused workspace for shaping color, light, and texture while keeping the photograph and editing controls visible together. • Collections let you group related Chaos photographs, choose a cover, reorder your work, and create shareable 3×3 grids from nine favorites. • Eight additional presets—Solar, Xerox, Signal, Infra, Ghost, Bleach, Mosaic, and Emulsion—bring the total to sixteen distinct visual styles. • A unified Save & Share preview makes it clear what you are exporting before you act. • Recipe cards can be shared as still PNG images or looping GIFs with animated colors from the recipe. • A redesigned onboarding experience introduces capture, presets, Recipe Studio, and Collections. • Tap anywhere in the camera viewfinder to focus. IMPROVED • The result screen now gives the photograph more space and keeps secondary controls quieter. • The original expressive Chaos noise and grain return with more texture and character. • Recipe saving, reuse, QR sharing, and importing are easier to understand. • VoiceOver labels, larger text behavior, contrast, Reduce Motion, and Reduce Transparency support have been improved throughout the primary experience. • The interface is now intentionally portrait-only for a more consistent camera and editing layout. • General performance, reliability, and interface consistency improvements. Existing saved recipes and older recipe codes remain supported.
