five cities. new york, houston, los angeles, dc and miami, with more on the way. • pick your city and switch any time from the stamp on every tab. each city has its own rooms, nights, crews, djs and colours. zoom the map all the way out and fly between them. • halloween weekend in all five: the costume parties, the nights and the rooms throwing them, wherever you are. • comments have hearts now, show everyone's photo, and carry each person's home city. locals of the post's city stand out. • photos fill the screen, your own posts save to your camera roll, and a time bar on the scene tab shows what's on at the hour you're heading out. • a quicker way in for new people, settings in a glance, and a scene tab that gets out of the way. see you out there.

Small update, but you should feel the improvements in the feed, posting experience, and overall flow. As always thank you for using the app. It means a lot to me, see you out there!

I put a lot of time into this one. I squashed a few bugs (okay, quite a few bugs), upgraded the look and feel, and added a bunch of quality of life improvements. Oh, and we’re live in Westchester too! Not to mention the Bronx got some much needed love, and there’s now a Halloween event in the app. Honestly, there’s so much more I want you to check out, so go right ahead and update. I hope you enjoy it!

for the ones still out. • today runs until 4:30 am. out past midnight? the scene is still tonight, and from 4:30 it's the day ahead. • a party that's going says how long it goes: "on til 4:00 am", and the ones going latest come first. • the scene filters by borough: manhattan, brooklyn, queens, bronx, staten island, and every card carries its borough tag. • the share is shorter: "look what I found on What's The Vibes? tonight 11 pm. you in?" the link brings the flyer, the party and the room. • your own recap can be deleted: "delete this recap", a confirmation, and it's gone. your own recap never offers report or block on itself. • every size, gap, corner and colour in the app comes from one set now, so the you tab, the map, the scene and the feed read as one piece, and every glyph grows with your text size. • more djs in the directory: afrobeats, amapiano, soca, dancehall, reggaeton, hip-hop and more. The Terrace in East Harlem is on the map. • the update notes scroll at the largest text sizes, so the button is always there. • the calendar loads once on a cold start, even when two screens ask at the same moment.

the quiet one. everything reads right. • every post says where it is: "elsewhere BUSHWICK", and the party it belongs to when there is one. a borough when that's all we know. • live means now: the live word only inside the last 30 minutes, "earlier" with a hollow dot after that, "usually" the rest of the night. • your vibes keep their plans offline. tap "+" with no signal and it syncs when you're back; a reminder lands 2 hours before doors, or 30 minutes, never twice. • the share says what it is: the party, the room, the night, doors. a past night says it was. • tickets talk plain: "tickets from Posh", "we think this link sells tickets" only when it's a guess, "likely sold out" with the listing one tap away. • a handle the app would refuse is caught while you type ("that one's reserved."), and a sign-up that fails says why. • voiceover reads the whole card: the video, the author, the room, the score, one "mute". • the splash settles before the cut, onboarding scrolls on every phone and speaks its steps, and reduce motion is respected on the title. • one image pipeline for every picture: thumbs, pins and faces share one cache, so the map and the feed stop reloading what you already saw. • a nameplate you earned that the server no longer lists reads "hibernating" to you alone, with the number that brings it back. • plus smaller fixes: "couldn't load." where a row fails, "nothing here matches your filters", contacts copy that says what we read and what we never do, and the deck chip's pulse only when the room is live.

the honest one. and 18+. • the map only glows where people are. a room nobody has reported from reads "usually packed" in grey, with a hollow dot. heat means a crowd. • a party listed at a room shows "on now" until someone checks in. a listing is a plan, not a crowd. • check in from the venue page, not just the map. one button, lit when you're inside the room. • the scene tab reads the week the way you do: today, this week, next week, this month, all. every night gets its own header, and a quiet tuesday says so. • what the night costs, on every card: free, free with rsvp, from $25, $20 at the door. the free filter finally finds the free-with-rsvp nights. • the door age on every room and party. What's The Vibes? is 18+ now; most rooms card at 21, and we say which. • halloween weekend: every party from friday oct 30 to sunday nov 1, in one place. • the crew behind a party is on its page: who they are, their other nights, one tap to follow. • post from the floor and it counts. a post made at the venue feeds the room's live vibe; from anywhere else it still goes up, it just won't move the room. and an optional two-tap read on how the floor is. • likes, saves and votes stick through a refresh. • home says live only when something is live. after the last post you land on tonight's spotlight and the scene, not a dead end. • one more step when you join: follow @whatsthevibes for the thursday list and the weekend's parties. optional. existing accounts get asked once. • nights out are between you and your people: profiles show the count to mutual follows only. • the neon tiles are gone. colour belongs to the live vibe. • plus smaller fixes: faster sign-out, pushes from the first night, favorites with the room's photo, and the update sheet just says update.

a big one. the city got easier to move through. • share a vibe: found a party the group chat needs to know about? tap the share icon on any event and send it. they get the flyer, the room and the night. no app yet? the link brings them in. • your vibes: tap + on any event and it lands in your vibes, with a reminder the evening of, so you don't remember the party at 1 AM. • closing time counts now: once a room shuts for the night, the app says so. • two new sounds in the filters: soca and dancehall. long overdue. • sign-up is one screen now, and the app asks for your location itself instead of leaving you guessing. • a new opening screen: the app opens on the city. blink and you'll miss it, which is the point. • some event cards were playing hard to get and ignoring taps. they've been spoken to. • the app lets you know when a new version is out. politely. once a day at most. • plus a long list of smaller fixes, privacy and security work, and general tightening. you won't see most of it. that's the idea.

the city week edition. the events calendar is alive — real parties across nyc, every night, refreshed weekly. filter by sound now too: house, hip-hop, afrobeats, amapiano, latin, and more. the map learned to breathe. zoomed out you get exact counts per area (they finally add up). zoomed in, rooms with live activity wear their names big while the rest sit back as quiet dots — nothing disappears, it just stops shouting. text vibe checks got a clean new card look in the feed — video stays reserved for venues and approved creators, who now wear their badges: star for creators, checkmark for claimed venues. check-ins are clearer and tougher: the report screen tells you up front that live check-ins only count from at the venue — and reports now send reliably even on one bar of basement signal. plus: pay-at-door labels, a stray keypad exterminated, sharper wording everywhere, and the report buttons no longer clip.

the spotlight edition. home opens with the spotlight — ten spots ranked for your taste, refreshed live. the map got its biggest upgrade yet: numbered clusters when you're zoomed out, and once you're in close, every venue with its name — nothing disappears while you zoom. it also opens right where you're standing. new vibe words: quiet / warming up / buzzing / packed / a movie. the words people actually text. pings when a spot playing your sound starts going up (off switch in settings), plus a proper unread badge on your inbox. your music keeps playing now — the feed hands audio back the moment you mute or leave. and a big honesty pass under the hood: hearts and bookmarks remember themselves, uploads tell you if they didn't make it, every screen retries instead of failing silently, ticket guesses stay labeled as guesses, and times are regular clock time everywhere.

your face on the floor — profile photos are here. add yours in edit profile. friends, actually findable: search people by name (not just @handle), see who's new on the scene, and add your number so friends with you in their contacts spot you instantly. follow the whole scene — djs, promoters, and party series all have follow buttons now, with a new series tab and a "your scene" section on the you tab. achievements went public: see anyone's badges on their profile, chase the citywide weekly + monthly challenges, and sweep every badge to fast-track your vibe creator application. the map now reads like a map — venue names on every marker, no more number bubbles. plus: followers list, delete your own posts, pinch-to-zoom photos, verified checkmarks on claimed venues, sharper freshness stamps, email verification + password tools, and a smoother sign-up.

find your friends — add friends from your contacts (matched privately as one-way hashes, never uploaded raw), search by username, and get a ping when a friend joins. 275+ new venues across manhattan, brooklyn, and queens — 500+ spots now tracked live. the map is rebuilt from the ground up: buttery pan, pinch zoom, and two-finger rotate with smart pin clustering. plus polish across the you tab.

• vote on posts — upvote what matches the vibe, downvote what's off • favorites: heart a venue and find it on your profile (plus get its pings) • run a venue? claim it from the venue page — verified by hand • badges landed on your profile • home now shows the same live readings as the map — no more quiet/active contradictions • fixed returning users being asked to sign up again • follower counts now actually count

• search the map: matching spots now pop up in a list as you type — tap one and the map flies straight to it • photos & clips on venue pages now come exclusively from approved vibe creators • fixed posts not showing up on venue pages • scene directory: cleaned-up DJ & promoter links • polish and fixes across the app
