Mt33 — Take a Small Step in Prayer
Sometimes, the hardest part of prayer is simply knowing where to begin.
Mt33 is a Catholic prayer and Scripture app designed to help you take one small step toward the Lord — whether through a familiar prayer, the Word of God, quiet reflection, music, Eucharistic adoration, the Examen, offering your suffering, or an act of charity.
At the heart of Mt33 is a simple idea: every prayer can become a small light.
When you choose Light a Candle, Mt33 can suggest a simple prayer or spiritual activity for that moment. It is especially helpful when you want to pray but are not sure what to say or where to begin. Over time, these recommendations can also help you discover different ways of encountering the Lord — including vocal prayer, Lectio Divina, meditative music, Eucharistic adoration, the Examen, offering your suffering, and acts of charity. After you pray, you can light a candle on the Mt33 world map. Each candle represents a prayer offered by someone somewhere in the world.
Seeing other candles recently lit around the globe is a simple reminder:
• You are not praying alone.
• Your prayer is joined with the prayers of others.
• We belong to one universal Catholic Church.
• Through the intercession of the saints, our prayers can help bring a little more light into the world.
Prayer does not always look the same. Mt33 brings together different ways of praying, reading Scripture, reflecting and growing in faith so that you can discover what helps you draw closer to God.
With Mt33, you can:
• Read the daily Mass readings and explore the liturgical calendar
• Reflect on the daily Gospel quote
• Read and search the Bible, jump directly to referenced passages and download the Bible for offline reading
• Pray with Lectio Divina and the Daily Lectio Divina
• Use the Daily Examen for guided reflection
• Explore prayers, devotions and novenas
• Keep your own prayer intentions and pray with the Pope’s monthly intention
• Listen to Catholic talks, formation programs, prayers and other audio content
• Continue listening with the background audio player while using other parts of the app
• Explore retreats, formation resources, videos, websites and related Scripture passages
• Search for prayer and formation content
• Create Home shortcuts to the content you use most often
• Share prayers, Scripture and other Mt33 content with others
