Optimized for Apple Silicon and fully sandboxed, it shows live, beautifully-rendered stats for everything that matters — CPU, GPU, memory, network, battery, disk, system power, and uptime — in a fast, focused popover that opens with one click. WHAT YOU GET • Live CPU load with a User/System split sparkline • Per-core ring grid showing P-cores and E-cores at a glance, with cluster-level percentages beneath • 1-minute / 5-minute / 15-minute load average • Top apps with real per-app CPU% and aggregated memory (with the optional Probe Helper) • Memory pressure, wired, compressed and swap breakdown • Real-time network throughput with up/down sparklines • Battery: charge, time remaining, voltage, amperage, wattage, temperature, cycle count, health %, and adapter description • Whole-system power draw in watts • Disk free / used / total • System uptime • Quick shortcuts to Activity Monitor, Console, Terminal, and Disk Utility DESIGN Probe is built around speed. The popover opens instantly, sparklines update at sub-second cadence, and the menu bar widget renders in under a millisecond per tick. Every metric ships with a focus mode — click any chip to drill in. Dark and light mode, full SF Symbol palette, accessibility-aware. PROBE HELPER (OPTIONAL) Per-process CPU and memory aggregation aren't visible to sandboxed apps. If you want per-app CPU% with multi-process apps (Chrome, Slack, Cursor, etc.) correctly aggregated by parent, download the optional, free, open-source Probe Helper from juancarlosh.com/probe. The helper runs as a LaunchDaemon, has zero telemetry, and uninstalls with a single command. Probe works fully without the helper — you just don't get the live "Top apps" CPU column. PRIVACY Probe collects no data. No analytics. No telemetry. No network calls. The app is fully sandboxed for App Store distribution. Source code is open on GitHub for inspection. REQUIREMENTS • macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later • Apple Silicon optimized (Intel Macs supported; some sensors may not appear)
