Notch: Workout Notes
Gym journal & strength tracker
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Your workout starts with a note. Type or paste your session, turn exercise notes into tracked sets, and keep the details that help you train next time.
Still logging workouts in a notes app? Notch brings a gym journal and workout tracker together. Write your session in a flexible, note-style editor, then turn exercise notes into sets you can track.
WRITE FIRST. TRACK AS YOU GO.
Type or paste your workout notes. Try “Barbell Bench Press 3 x 8 @ 70kg”, review the suggested exercise and sets, then accept with a tap. Keep cues, reminders and how a set felt as ordinary text beside your exercises.
MAKE THE LOG FIT YOUR TRAINING
Record reps, weight, time or distance, with the attributes you need for each exercise. Log lifting sessions, cardio intervals and timed stretches in the same journal. Add warm-ups, working sets, cooldowns and compound exercise groups, then reorder blocks as your session changes.
KEEP YOUR REST IN THE WORKOUT
Add rest timers and manual countdowns alongside your sets. Write “Rest 90 seconds” and accept the suggestion to create a countdown where you need it.
PICK UP WHERE YOU LEFT OFF
Use previous sets as a starting point for exercises you have performed before. Save workouts as reusable templates so you can return to your routines without rebuilding each session.
SEE YOUR TRAINING OVER TIME
Choose the insight metrics that matter for each exercise. Review trends across sessions and compare with your previous workout to help decide what to do next.
KEEP YOUR WORKOUT LOG WITH YOU
Log workouts offline, with training data stored on your device. Export and import workouts as JSON files. Optionally export completed workouts to Apple Health.
Start with your next workout note. Build a training history you can use.
