Pro Markdown Viewer is a fast, native macOS reader that turns any markdown file into a clean, readable document. Double-click a .md file and read it the way it was meant to look: real typography, a table of contents sidebar, images, tables, footnotes, working links, and Mermaid diagrams rendered inline. Code blocks come with language labels and one-click copy. A READER, NOT AN EDITOR Keep writing wherever you already write. Save the file in VS Code, vim, Cursor, or TextEdit and the rendered view updates in place. Cmd-F searches inside the rendered document. Print works. Windows tab together, following your system preference. QUICK LOOK, BUILT IN Press spacebar on a .md file in Finder and see the rendered document instead of raw text, using the same renderer as the full app. VALIDATION THAT CATCHES WHAT A PLAIN PREVIEW MISSES Lint-style checks flag broken links, malformed headings, and structural mistakes, shown as inline banners next to the block they belong to. Filter by severity in Settings, or turn them off entirely. IT ALSO UNDERSTANDS AI CONFIGURATION FILES CLAUDE.md, agent definitions, skills, slash commands, MCP configs, .cursorrules, ChatGPT prompts. The viewer recognizes them, renders their YAML frontmatter as a structured card instead of swallowing it, explains each key in plain English, and draws a graph of every tool, skill, and reference an agent declares. Unresolved references show up as broken nodes, so you can see what's missing before you install a file from the internet.
