RiffJar
Capture audio, lyrics & chords
$4.99 · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Stop losing song ideas. Capture audio, lyrics & chords — all in one jar.
It's 2 AM. The riff hit. Where does it go?
Voice memos? Notes? A scrap of paper? By next week, you can't remember which app you used — or which song that half-finished chord progression even belongs to.
RiffJar is built around one simple truth: a song idea is never just one file. It's a recording, a revised take with capo, half a verse, a chord progression, a feeling you can't quite describe yet. RiffJar bundles every part of an idea into a single jar — and keeps it on your device, where it belongs.
— FEATURES —
ONE IDEA, MANY ENTRIES
Each idea can hold as many entries as you need: the original riff, a second take in a different key, the lyrics that came to mind, the chord progression you finally figured out. They all stay together. Open the idea in three months and the whole thing is still there.
CAPTURE WITHOUT FRICTION
Hit record. The riff is saved. No naming, no folders, no account — nothing to slow down the moment.
LYRICS & TEXT ENTRIES
Write lyrics, melody notes, or anything that belongs to the idea — directly inside it. No copy-pasting from another app.
CHORD ENTRIES
Add chord progressions as their own entry type. Always right there when you pick up the guitar again.
COLOR-CODE WHAT MATTERS
Optionally tag ideas with a color — "in progress", "needs lyrics", "almost done", "jam session". Find what you're looking for in a glance.
100% OFFLINE
RiffJar works entirely on your device. No internet required. No servers. No cloud sync. No subscriptions, no renewals, no service that can shut down and take your work with it.
NO ACCOUNT, NO TRACKING
Open the app and start. No sign-up, no email, no passwords. No analytics, no crash reporting, no third-party SDKs. We don't track you because we built RiffJar without the means to.
YOUR MUSIC STAYS YOURS
Your recordings, lyrics, and chord notes never leave your device. Privacy isn't a setting — it's the architecture.
— BUILT FOR —
Songwriters. Guitarists. Producers. Vocalists. Beatmakers. Bedroom musicians and touring pros. Anyone who has ever lost a great idea because it got buried under twenty recordings labeled "New Recording 47".
If you write music, you know the feeling.
— PAY ONCE. USE FOREVER. —
RiffJar is a one-time purchase. No subscription. No upgrade traps. Your jar is yours forever.
Get it. Open it. Start capturing.
