Roundmate
Private tasting with friends.
Only for iPhone
Free · Designed for iPhone. Not verified for macOS.
Roundmate is an adult social tasting journal for close friends. Start a 30-minute manual check-in when you want to be findable, or use a private timer. No automatic location sharing. No leaderboard.
— MANUAL CHECK-INS —
Six glass types ready in two taps. Share a check-in with approved friends, with or without a map pin, or choose a private timer. After 30 minutes it disappears.
— SAY HI FROM ANYWHERE —
When a friend manually checks in, their glass appears in your rail. Send a quick hello without turning it into a contest.
— FRIENDS REQUIRE APPROVAL —
Sending a request never follows someone automatically. They must approve you before either of you can see friend-only check-ins.
— FIND A SPOT, OR JUST BE FOUND —
The map shows venues nearby and friends who chose to share a current check-in. No location is shown automatically.
— A QUIET TASTING JOURNAL —
If you want to remember a pour, you can. A private journal lives in your profile — your notes, your ratings, your glass collection. No one sees it but you.
— BUILT FOR CRAFT, NEVER FOR EXCESS —
Roundmate is a social moment, not a competition. We don't gamify quantity, we don't celebrate volume, we don't push promotions for alcohol brands. Every core feature works with water.
— PRIVACY —
Adults of legal drinking age only. Age-gated at first launch. Check-ins are visible only to approved friends you have explicitly added and only when you choose to share the check-in. We do not sell your data. We do not run ads. See our full privacy policy at roundmate.vercel.app/privacy.
— RESPONSIBLE DRINKING —
If you or someone you know is struggling with alcohol, help is available:
• United States: SAMHSA 1-800-662-4357
• Mexico: CONADIC 800-911-2000
• Alcoholics Anonymous: aa.org
Drink slowly. Drink water in between. Never drive.

v1.0.2 — Quieter rounds, clearer rules.
This release substantially revises the meet-up feature in response to App Store review feedback. Roundmate is for casual social moments, not coordinated drinking sessions, and the app's behavior now reflects that more literally:
• Removed the "Open invite / Who's in?" mass-invite path. Plans are now passive announcements only — friends discover them by opening the app, not via push notifications.
• No push notifications are sent when you create a plan, when someone RSVPs, when a plan is cancelled, or when its scheduled time arrives. Every plan-related interaction is a quiet in-app update.
• The Water glass now wears a visible "NON-ALC" badge on the plan picker, equal-weight with the other glasses.
• Suggested caption text rewritten — neutral "Catching up after work" replaces the previous wording.
• Plans are capped at 3 per 24 hours per user, server-side.
• Profile → Settings → Privacy now has "Show drink count on profile" — turn it off to focus on variety over volume. The hero count card hides; the variety stats (Unique styles, Top style, etc.) and your journal stay visible.
• "How was it?" notification body now says "Tap to save it to your journal" so the path from a Live round to a permanent log is obvious.
• Home tab: each check-in now asks whether to start a private timer or manually share a friends-only map pin. First-session coachmark + journal empty state echo the same distinction.
Also includes the latest email-confirmation and password-reset deep-link handling so verification and recovery links return to the correct in-app screen. This App Store version uses iOS bundle train 0.5.1.
Plus all of v0.4.5 (native in-app password reset, "already have an account" sign-up handling) and v0.4.4 (vertical-swipe subcategory rotation on the glass picker).
