Meet Markio 1.3: multi-cloud sync, semantic search, cross-file replace, note embeds, and static-site export—while your Markdown files stay local and yours.
Markio is a local-first Markdown reader and writing app built for long-form notes, knowledge work, and technical documentation.
Your notes stay as ordinary .md files in folders you choose. Markio gives you source, split, WYSIWYG, and reading views, so you can move quickly between editing, reviewing, and focused reading.

- Local-first files: Work directly with Markdown and plain-text files on disk, without a proprietary cloud format.
- Multiple workspaces: Switch between note vaults while preserving recent files, tabs, and app state.

- Fast editing: Command palette, full-text search, in-document find, synced scrolling, slash menu, and keyboard shortcuts.
- Knowledge base tools: Local indexing for backlinks, tags, mentions, and semantic retrieval.
- Safer saving: Atomic writes, external-change detection, history snapshots, and a soft-delete trash flow.
- Optional AI: Connect OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, DeepSeek, Ollama, or a custom compatible endpoint. Credentials are stored in the OS keychain.
- Export and publishing: Export to PDF or HTML, copy Markdown/HTML snippets, and preview WeChat-ready formatting.
Markio does not upload your notes by default and does not run ads, tracking, or analytics. Network features such as AI, sync, and image upload only run when you configure them.
