EPUB Player
Plays EPUB with media overplay
Only for iPhone
Free · Designed for iPhone. Not verified for macOS.
EPUB Player is a reader built specifically for EPUB3 books with media overlays.
Source code at: https://github.com/seedds/EPUB_Player
If your EPUB includes media overlay support, EPUB Player lets you follow the narration with synced audio playback and active text highlighting. Tap spoken text to start from that point, jump by chapter, and resume from your last played segment.
The app also works as a clean local EPUB reader for iPhone and iPad. Import books from Files, manage your library, restore reading progress, and customize the reading experience with themes, font size, line height, highlight color, and imported custom fonts.

1.0.39 Oct 16
• Read-aloud highlighting now follows one sentence at a time. After opening a newly imported book or jumping to another chapter, the highlight could also cover the previous sentence.
• Stopping the Wi-Fi upload server while a book is importing no longer leaves the library stuck on the importing screen.
• Your library, bookmarks and reading progress are better protected: Refresh no longer removes books when the Books folder has been moved or is temporarily unavailable.
• Less storage activity during long read-aloud sessions.

Tap to Play is now precise
Tapping a word or sentence now starts playback from exactly that element. The reader queries the actual position of every narrated element on the page and picks the one your tap landed in — or the closest one if your tap falls between elements. Previously, tapping could resolve to the wrong clip or the beginning of the chapter.
