New: Portrait Mode (Lumen Pro) Lumen now uses your iPhone's LiDAR sensor to create a real, gradually falling-off background blur — not a simple background-blur filter. Portrait Mode works on any subject, not just people: pets, objects and everyday scenes all get the same smooth depth effect, just like Lumen's existing film-style color looks already work on anything you point the camera at. Portrait Mode is a Lumen Pro feature and requires a LiDAR-equipped iPhone (iPhone 12 Pro or later Pro model). Also includes several refinements to the Portrait Mode rendering: cleaner edges around fine details like hair and fingers, and more consistent sharpness across the subject's face.

Focus peaking is now available in the standard photo mode, not just macro stacking, so you can see exactly what is in sharp focus for any shot. We also refreshed the in-app guide with clearer, up-to-date instructions for getting the most out of Lumen.

New: three additional style filters — Vivid (Sony-inspired), Chrome (Fuji-inspired), and Gold (Kodak-inspired) — join the style carousel alongside the existing Leica-inspired looks. Fixed a rare issue where switching lenses or modes during a photo capture could result in a failed or incorrect shot. The camera session now recovers automatically after an interruption (like a phone call), instead of leaving the shutter button unresponsive. Removed an unexpected zoom reset that could occur after using macro focus stacking. Tapping the album button now opens Photos directly; a long press shows a quick preview of your last shot in-app.

You can now manage your Lumen Pro subscription or purchase directly in the app — just tap the account icon.

Zoom & lens improvements: • Zoom presets now match your iPhone's actual lenses — 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 4x and 8x on Pro models. • Each preset engages the correct physical lens: ultra-wide, main and telephoto. • Fixed a capture failure that could occur at the highest zoom levels. • More accurate lens information saved in photo metadata (EXIF).

Camera fix: at 1x zoom, photos now always use the main camera for the sharpest results.
