New in 2.0: monitor many Modbus RTU & TCP devices at once, each tab with its own connection. Save your whole setup to a config file and reopen it anytime. Modbus Poll is a fast, modern Modbus client and server simulator for engineers, technicians, and developers working with PLCs, inverters, energy meters, HMIs, and industrial sensors. Test, debug, and verify Modbus devices in a clean, focused interface designed for macOS. NEW IN 2.0 • Multiple tables in tabs — monitor several devices or register blocks at once. Each tab has its own slave ID, address range, poll interval, aliases, formulas, and formats. Double-click a tab to rename it. • A connection per tab — mix Serial RTU and Modbus TCP devices in one session. Tabs on different ports or hosts poll in parallel; tabs sharing one RS-485 port take turns, and the app warns you when a port is shared or its line settings don't match. • Save & open configurations — store every tab, connection, and MQTT setting in a file and reopen it anytime. Save, Save As, and a reminder before closing with unsaved changes. • Clearer formats — 32-bit values are now labeled Int32 and UInt32, so reading an unsigned value like a serial number takes one click. KEY FEATURES • Serial RTU (USB-to-RS485) or Modbus TCP/IP, chosen per tab. • Full function code support — read FC01 coils, FC02 discrete inputs, FC03 holding registers, FC04 input registers; write FC05, FC06, FC15, and FC16. • Real-time polling — Read Once for quick checks, or Start Poll to monitor every connected tab on its own interval. • 28 display formats — Signed, Unsigned, Hex, Binary, Int32, UInt32, Float32, Int64, UInt64, and Double, with the 4 standard byte orders (AB CD / CD AB / BA DC / DC BA). Set per table or override per register. • Aliases and formulas — name registers and scale raw values with formulas like x/10. • Combined Chart view — overlay up to 8 registers on one graph to compare related values side by side. • CSV logging — write live readings from all tables to a CSV file as they arrive, with no size limit. • MQTT publishing — stream live data to any broker, with TLS and authentication, for Node-RED, Home Assistant, or your own dashboards. • Live TX / RX / ERR counters and tab status lights — see at a glance which device responds and where errors occur. • Built-in TCP Server Simulator — run a Modbus TCP slave from the app and answer FC01–FC16 requests from any master. No hardware required. • Random Data Generator — randomize registers, coils, or discrete inputs every 250 ms to 5 s to stress-test your HMI or dashboard. • Full serial control — baud rate, data bits, stop bits, parity, and timeout. • Native macOS app — built with Tauri and Rust for a tiny footprint, fast startup, and full Apple Silicon support. No Java, no Electron. WHO IT'S FOR • Automation engineers commissioning PLC installations • Field technicians troubleshooting sensors and meters • Solar and energy engineers reading inverters and meters side by side • Firmware developers testing Modbus slaves against the built-in server • IoT engineers bridging Modbus devices into MQTT pipelines • Students learning industrial protocols WHY MODBUS POLL Most Modbus tools are stuck in the Windows-95 era — cluttered toolbars, confusing dialogs, and decade-old UIs. Modbus Poll brings the same proven functionality to a modern interface that respects your screen and your time. Whether you're polling one device on your bench, watching a whole installation at once, or simulating a slave for your team — Modbus Poll gets you to answers faster.

Modbus Poll 2.0 is our biggest update yet. MULTIPLE TABLES • Monitor several devices or register blocks at once, each in its own tab. • Every tab keeps its own slave ID, address range, poll interval, aliases, formulas, and formats. • Double-click a tab to rename it, e.g. "Inverter" or "Energy Meter". • Status lights on each tab show at a glance which device is responding. A CONNECTION PER TAB • Mix Serial RTU and Modbus TCP devices in one session. • Tabs on different ports or hosts are polled in parallel. • Tabs sharing one RS-485 port take turns automatically, with a notice when a port is shared or its line settings don't match. SAVE & OPEN CONFIGURATIONS • Save every tab, connection, and MQTT setting to a file with Save Config or Save As, and reopen it anytime. • The file name is shown in the toolbar, marked "(unsaved)" when there are changes. • You're asked to save before closing if there are unsaved changes. • Your tabs and settings are also remembered between launches. IMPROVEMENTS • 32-bit formats are now labeled Int32 and UInt32, making unsigned values such as serial numbers easy to read without formulas. • CSV logging and MQTT publishing now include data from all tables. • Number fields apply your input as you type. • Fixed format menus being cut off at the window edge and closing when scrolled.
