If the database still fails to open, a recovery screen offers Try again, Start fresh, or Copy details.

~iCloud Sync~ Your iPhone, iPad, and Mac now stay in sync. Turn on iCloud Sync in Settings on each device signed in to the same iCloud account. Semesters, courses, assessments, grades, notes, tags, palettes, and pancake plates sync automatically. ~Abacus Palette~ Your standings bar becomes a wooden abacus.
