dh-NOISE — sampler & tracker sequencer
Turn any sound into an instrument you can play, slice and sequence. dh-NOISE is a sample slicer and a tracker sequencer in one: load a sample, chop it into slices, play them across a keyboard, and arrange them into beats — all inside your favourite iOS music apps.
dh-NOISE is an Audio Unit (AUv3) plug-in: it opens inside a host app such as AUM, Cubasis, GarageBand or NanoStudio — not as a standalone app.
LOAD & SLICE
• Import WAV, MP3, AIFF, FLAC, OGG, M4A and CAF files
• Open vintage Akai S1000 / S3000 sampler CD-ROMs (.iso) — load those classic '90s sample libraries straight into a layer
• Append a new sample onto one you've already loaded — stacked end-to-end and auto-sliced at each join, perfect for building kits and chains
• Auto-find the slice points in a loop, or tap to place them yourself
• Name your slices (Kick, Snare, Hat…) — the names carry straight through to the tracker
• Audio quantize — lock your slices to the beat grid (or bars) so chops sit tight in time
• Reorder and shuffle slices to flip a loop into something new
• Trim, normalize, reverse and fade — the whole sample, or just one slice
PLAY
• Play any sample across the on-screen keyboard, automatically pitched to the right note
• Or trigger your slices like a drum kit — one slice per key
• Everything stays locked to your project's tempo, with high-quality time-stretching
TRACKER SEQUENCER
• A built-in tracker-style step sequencer with four independent layers
• Your named slices appear right in the pattern editor — drop them in with precise micro-timing
• Per-step control over every hit: repeat, pan, reverse, and high-pass / low-pass filters
• Save your patterns to a library and reuse them across projects — build your own pattern libraries
• Chain patterns into full songs; mute and solo tracks on the fly
MIDI
• Plays from MIDI in your host — live, or drawn into the piano roll
• Sends MIDI out per layer to drive other instruments — including chords and triads built with the on-board chord picker, with inversion control
• Syncs to your host's tempo and transport
Four layers. One sample slicer, tracker sequencer and playable instrument — built for making beats on the move.
was quite literally my only qualm prior to the recent update, of adding the standalone capabilities. when I initially saw DH Noise's release... the concept, slicer/tracker combo, was the environment I had been seeking—but couldn't ever find a solution amongst other apps.wouldn't be surprised if it lands in my Top 3 of 2026. there is nothing quite like it. 🎖️
Developer Response
The new update brings much more to this app and its been a real labour of love for me. Thank you for the kind review. If its missing anything let me know as im happy to accommodate anything reasonable to add to this app.
Feels vibe coded and unfinished
Lattii
I wanted to love this but even with years of experience and reading thru the doodled manual, I couldn’t get my beats chopped with any success.
Developer Response
Thats a shame, I have worked very hard on this and the Vibe code comment is not unnoticed. I can assure you its not and the new update adds many new features and a PDF manual with more detail. This is passion passion project and not a monetary one and so any issues will be ironed out. Please send me an email and i am very open to working out any issues you have. Thank you for the honest review.
