Bosun's Mate
Vessel log every captain wants
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Close out your season with clean logs: edit or delete any entry, fuel stats recalculate instantly, and safety gear expiry alerts keep you USCG-ready for spring.
Bosun's Mate is the vessel management system every mariner wishes they had.
Engine hours. Fuel logs. Parts catalogs. Receipts. Cruising notes. Everything that matters about your boat — captured beautifully, totalled automatically. Searchable. Cross-linked. Never lost.
WHY CAPTAINS LOVE IT
— Multi-engine support for twin and quad rigs. Track port, starboard, and beyond — each engine logged independently with its own service intervals, fuel economy, and hours.
— AI receipt OCR. Snap a photo of a parts receipt and Bosun's Mate reads every line item in 8 seconds. Vendor, OEM numbers, prices — extracted, organized, and added to your catalog. No more squinting at fading thermal paper.
— Multi-page survey extraction. Drop in a marine survey PDF and the AI pulls engine specs, hull data, electronics, and equipment into your vessel profile automatically. Saves hours of manual entry every time you buy a new boat.
— Per-engine fuel economy. See exactly which engine is burning more fuel at any RPM. Charts compare engines side-by-side at every cruise speed. Spot a lazy engine before it costs you thousands in repairs.
— Cruising log with photos. Document every trip with notes, weather, distance, and on-the-water photography. Build a permanent record of your adventures.
— Cost tracking that actually balances. Every receipt is logged with category, vendor, and date. Year-to-date costs always one tap away.
— Activity feed. Chronological view of every change — yours and your crew's. Like git history, but for your boat.
— Co-Captain shared access. Invite your spouse, captain, or trusted crew with read-only or full-edit permissions. Everyone looking at the same data.
— Offline-capable. Works on the water with no signal. Syncs the moment you're back at the dock.
— Photo attachments on every entry. Document parts, damage, repairs visually.

Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
Every log entry can now be edited or deleted. Fat-fingered a fuel fill?
Tap the new "..." menu on any entry — fuel, maintenance, parts or
cruising log — to fix or remove it. Deletes always ask for confirmation
before anything is removed.
Fuel statistics now correct themselves: edit or remove an entry and your
MPG, GPH and season totals recalculate instantly from your remaining
logs — one bad entry no longer skews your averages.
Also in this update:
• Safety tab — track flare expiry, fire extinguisher service life and
PFD counts against USCG minimums, with alerts before anything lapses
• Hull insurance renewal tracker with reminder emails
• Fixed an issue where confirmation dialogs could appear in the wrong
position on screen
