The social media app that actually makes you socialize.
Bar Barons turns going out into a game. Visit your favorite bars, claim your spot, and compete with friends to become the Baron — the person with the most visits in the last 30 days. Become a Baron of your favorite bars. Rule a neighborhood as its Lord. See where your friends are competing and take their thrones. No endless scrolling. No watching other people live. Just you, your friends, and the city. Get out there.
WHAT'S INSIDE
- 1,900+ bars across New York and Boston — all five boroughs plus Westchester and Long Island, and now Boston from Southie to the Seaport. From the dive bars of Bushwick to the cocktail spots of Tribeca, every borough, every neighborhood.
- Become a Baron — visit a bar more than anyone else in the last 30 days and the crown is yours. Lose interest, lose the title.
- Rule a neighborhood — the most active claimer in a neighborhood becomes its Lord. Your kingdom grows as you explore.
- Smart map — clusters at neighborhood zoom, individual bars at street level. Gold pins for your Baron bars, silver for places you've visited, dark for unclaimed territory.
- Friends and rivals — connect with friends via Apple ID. See their Baron titles, recent visits, and where they're holding court.
- Built for iPhone — Sign in with Apple, dark mode by default, syncs across your devices via iCloud.
- Private by design — your photos and location stay on your device. Only your claims (bar name, neighborhood, timestamp) are shared with friends.
HOW IT WORKS
Walk into any bar available on the app
Open Bar Barons, tap the bar on the map, hit Claim
Snap a quick photo when prompted
Your location confirms you're there — the claim is yours
WHY IT EXISTS
Bar Barons started with a simple idea: turn going out into a game. You're already paying for drinks. You're already telling friends where you went. Why not make it competitive?
It's not a check-in app. It's a kingdom-building app where the kingdom happens to be made of bars.
Can't find your bar? Now you can add it.
Search any bar, and if it's not on the map yet, tap Suggest to drop a pin and send it in. Your spots, on the map.
Also: smoother search and a few under-the-hood fixes.
Claim your bar.
