New in 2.4.0 VERSIONS • With paperless-ngx 3.0 or later, the app shows every version of a document, such as the signed contract next to the original. Open and share older versions, add new ones by scan, photo or file, rename and delete them. Title, tags and notes stay with the document. PROOF OF PURCHASE • Under Settings › Help & info › Proof of purchase, the app shows that your copy is unlocked for good and when you first downloaded Paperless 24. The information comes from the App Store and stays on your device. ALSO NEW • Pick several photos at once – they become one document. • Saved views from the web interface show the same documents in the app as in the browser. • New share links expire after 7 days by default, and deleting by swipe asks first. • Direct link to dillwerk.de with the guide, support and privacy policy. New in 2.3.4 READY FOR iPhone Duo • Unfolded, filters, document list and document sit side by side – like on iPad, but in your pocket. • Fold and unfold without losing your place: the open document stays open, and the switch between layouts is smooth. • Folded, everything fits the narrow outer display: titles stay readable, and “Share links” and “Translate” move into the ⋯ menu. PASSWORD-PROTECTED PDFs • When importing, the app asks for the password and uploads a copy without protection, so paperless-ngx can read the text and make it searchable. With instant upload, the form opens for such files. • Already imported documents with a password can be unlocked in the app. “Remove protection” has paperless-ngx (3.0 or later) create a version without a password – title, tags and all other details are kept. DUPLICATE UPLOADS • Before uploading, the app checks whether this exact file is already in the archive. You then decide: open the existing one, upload anyway or discard. • paperless-ngx 3 adds duplicate files a second time by default. The app now notices and offers to move the new document to the trash. • What the server did with an upload is no longer lost – even after switching apps. Problems appear in the Overview under “Review uploads”. FIXED • The server's feedback on an upload never reached the app, so rejected files went unnoticed. Thanks for the suggestion in the reviews!

New in 2.3.1 CLEARER AND FASTER • On iPad, swipe to the next document in the document view on the right. When only the document is shown, “‹ Documents” takes you back to the list. • On narrow screens the document title is readable again – “Share links” and “Translate” are in the ⋯ menu there. • A small arrow in the filter bar shows that there's more to the right. • Lists and thumbnails scroll more smoothly, even on first load. After a scan the scanner closes right away while the PDF is created in the background. FIXED • After editing, the document view still showed the old title and details. • An upload added while another was running waited up to half a minute. If the app was closed in the middle of a batch, files already uploaded could arrive a second time. • “Batch scan” gave every document today's date instead of detecting the date from the content. • When swiping through the inbox, the badge counted down too far. • The app lock always mentioned Face ID. It now names how your device unlocks – Face ID, Touch ID or passcode. • Status messages such as “Refreshing” and “Uploading” appeared in German in every language. • “Scan ASN” didn't open the document it found on iPad. • The changelog in Settings can now be read in all six languages.

New in 2.3.0 OVERVIEW • A new first tab shows what's coming up: inbox, deadlines due, documents missing from regular series, saved views and recently added documents – with “Ask your archive” right at the top. • Pin documents: your ID, vehicle registration or insurance card sit at the top of the overview and open without a network connection. • If you already use the app, you're asked once. Turn it on or off under Settings › Display. SIGNING IN • Sign in with an API token – for accounts without a password, for example with SSO/OIDC (Authentik, Keycloak). CAPTURE FASTER • Quick scan in the plus menu: scan and upload without the form. With “Upload immediately”, that applies to every scan, photo and shared file – your server then decides title, date and assignment. • Import several files at once, now including images, text, emails and Office files. HEIC photos are converted automatically. • Fixed: after a scan or a photo, the import form stayed open when you tapped "Upload", even though the file was already on its way. A second tap uploaded the same document again – it ended up in your archive twice. The form now closes right away, and every scan is sent exactly once. STAY ON TOP OF IT • Choose tags, correspondent and type for many documents from a searchable list; “All” in selection mode. • Fixed: “Save view” forgot multiple selections, excluded tags and the custom field filter. • Similar documents can be tapped; in swipe-through, tapping the preview opens the whole document. • Fixed: sharing a document showed an empty sheet on the first tap. The share menu now appears right away. LANGUAGES • Fixed: status messages, the deadline list, “Recurring” and notifications appeared in German in every language. • Fixed: if you chose a different language in the app than on the system, some text still appeared in the system language.

New in 2.2.1 • The app now speaks Dutch too – including the widget, the share extension and Siri shortcuts. Under "Display" → "Language" you can also pick it independently of the system language. • Fixed: the prompts iOS shows when asking for camera, photos, Face ID, reminders and local network access appeared in German in every language. They are now translated into all six languages.

New in 2.2.0 — the biggest update since launch. FILTERS NOW SEARCH EVERYTHING • Fixed: filters only applied to the documents currently loaded. Tapping a tag in a 3,000-document archive searched 25 of them — the list showed a random subset and called it complete. The server now does the filtering, the count is right, and you can page through within a filter. • Select several tags, correspondents or types at once — and exclude tags ("everything except junk mail"). • Search results show the passage containing your term instead of just the title and date. WORK THROUGH THE INBOX • Swipe right to take a document out of the inbox; in selection mode you can do many at once. Before, you had to open each document and untick the tag by hand. • "Swipe through" — a full-screen inbox view: preview on top, correspondent, type and tags below, pre-filled with your server's suggestions. • The app now uses the suggestions from paperless-ngx. They work on every iPhone, with or without Apple Intelligence. • After an upload you see what the server made of it — processed, or rejected as a duplicate. NOTHING GETS LOST ANY MORE • Fixed: queued uploads and edits could disappear on launch — exactly when you need them: with no connection. • Fixed: one rejected request blocked the queue for good, and the app reported "Offline" while the server was reachable. • Fixed: switching accounts could send files and edits to the wrong server. • Fixed: every edit overwrote the state on the server. Now only what you actually changed goes out. • "Timed out" and "Offline" no longer stick around after the app has been in the background. SECURITY • Fixed: "Set permissions" could make documents visible to every user on the instance. • New connections use https by default. Unencrypted only via an explicit switch, with a warning. • Server access with a client certificate (mTLS) and custom HTTP headers — before signing in. The app now works behind Cloudflare Access, Authelia or a proxy. • Proxy secrets now live in the keychain and are removed when you sign out. • Deleting tags, correspondents and types asks first — it affects the whole server and there is no trash for it. WHAT'S COMING UP • Deadline radar spots payment terms, cancellation windows and warranty periods in the text and proposes them together with the passage it found. Only what you confirm is saved. Plus reminders with lead time and a "what's due" list. • "Recurring" shows documents that come back and tells you when a month is missing. • Duplicate check before uploading — by reference number, amount and date. MORE FROM YOUR ARCHIVE • "Ask your archive" now searches the whole archive instead of just the loaded page. • Similar documents in the info tab, determined by the server. • Statistics: documents per month, most frequent correspondents, storage used. • Swipe to the next document in the detail view. CAPTURE • Scan an ASN barcode — point the camera at the label and the document opens. • Rotate, delete and reorder pages before uploading. • Import rules: whatever arrives from your banking app automatically becomes "Bank statement". • Scans are considerably smaller now — faster uploads, less storage. SYSTEM • Lock screen widget, Control Center buttons for scanning and the inbox. • Shortcuts that return something: "Find documents", "Count inbox", "Upload document". • Set owner, permissions and storage paths — for everyone sharing an instance. • The app now runs on iOS 18 instead of requiring iOS 26. The AI features still need a device with Apple Intelligence.

Neu in 2.1.4 • Der Posteingang zählte viel zu viele Dokumente: Die App hat jeden Eintrag ohne Sender als unbearbeitet gewertet — in einem gepflegten Archiv sind das hunderte längst erledigte Dokumente.
