Meeting relatives who speak another language? Start a translation session: each sentence appears translated moments after it is said, with a live transcript of it all. GPT Realtime Assistant is a live AI assistant for iPhone and iPad. It listens to the conversation you are in and helps while it is still going on: it translates speech into the language you choose, writes a live transcript, and answers questions during meetings, interviews and lectures. LIVE TRANSLATION Meeting relatives who speak another language, or a client or a doctor abroad? Start a translation session and choose the language to translate into. The spoken language is detected automatically, and each sentence appears translated moments after the speaker pauses, and can also be read aloud. Dozens of languages are available, including Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Brazilian and European Portuguese, Mexican Spanish and Canadian French. LIVE TRANSCRIPT AND ANSWERS In a meeting, interview or lecture, what is said appears as a transcript while people speak, with the assistant's answers beside it: a fact, a better phrasing, the next step. Interrupt an answer by speaking, choose brief, balanced or detailed answers, and have them read aloud if you like. 17 READY-MADE TEMPLATES Interview, negotiation, sprint planning, daily standup, sales demo, incident review, user research, lecture notes, one-on-one, translation and more, each with roles and instructions already written. Or start a blank session and write the instructions yourself. AFTER THE SESSION Each session stays as a record in its project. Useful moments become tasks with status, priority and dates, and sessions can be scheduled with reminders. CONTEXT AND PRACTICE • Add a photo or a screenshot, and the assistant answers with it in view. • Karaoke readback highlights each word as you read aloud, to rehearse a talk or practice a language. PRIVACY Sessions start and stop only when you say so. During a session, audio goes from your device directly to OpenAI's Realtime API; our servers never receive your audio or transcripts, and your sessions are stored on your device. Ask people before you record them: the rules differ by country, workplace and school. Sessions on iPhone and iPad need an internet connection. SUBSCRIPTION Free to download; a monthly subscription is needed to use it. It includes 2,000 AI credits a month, and packs of 1,000 or 5,000 credits add more. Credits are spent on the audio and text a session uses. One subscription covers iPhone, iPad and Mac, and it renews until canceled in your Apple Account settings at least 24 hours before the period ends. • The app is now available in 47 languages, and you can choose its language in Settings. • Translations are now read aloud as they appear, and answers can be too: two switches in Settings, and a speaker button next to the message field. • Live translation adds regional variants: Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Brazilian and European Portuguese, Mexican Spanish and Canadian French. Language names now appear in your own language. • Translations begin with their first word, with no filler or comments in front. • Faster answers on slow connections: long silences are no longer uploaded, so replies stay quick even on a phone hotspot. • A new icon and launch screen.
