Noteora is a free note-taking app for everything you write. Type it, handwrite it or write right on top of a PDF, and every page looks exactly like the real thing. No account, no cloud: your notes never leave your device.
Open a PDF or Word file, mark it up with Apple Pencil, add a table, sketch a diagram and export a pixel-perfect PDF in seconds.
HANDWRITING THAT FEELS LIKE PAPER
• Pressure- and tilt-aware pen, pencil and highlighter with smooth, natural strokes
• Pen-only mode with palm rejection: rest your hand on the screen and write
• Apple Pencil double-tap switches between the eraser and your last pen
• A felt-tip highlighter that keeps one even thickness
• Seven paper templates: blank, lined, narrow ruled, wide ruled, grid, dotted and Cornell notes
• Portrait or landscape, with as many pages as you need
• Add photos to handwritten pages and annotate them
• Shape recognition: hold the pen to snap a perfect line, rectangle, square or circle
• Object pen to select, move, rotate and resize anything on the page
• Snapped shapes come with handles to resize them, and rectangles keep the angle you drew
ANNOTATE ANY PDF
Open a PDF from Files, Mail or Safari straight into Noteora. Handwrite over its pages or type on them, start a new note or add the pages to one you already have, at the beginning or at the end. Ideal for lecture slides, worksheets, research papers, contracts and forms you need to fill in and sign. Photos open the same way, as a one-page note you can write on.
WORD-LEVEL TEXT NOTES
• Real pages that reflow as you type, just like a word processor
• Bold, italic, underline, strikethrough and four heading levels
• Bullet lists, numbered lists, checklists, quotes, code blocks and links
• Tables you can create, fill and export
• Nine fonts, text and highlight colors, and all four alignments
• Insert, drag, resize and rotate images; attach PDFs and files as cards
• Import .docx documents with the same fonts, sizes, line spacing and page count
PAGES YOU CONTROL
Every note has a pages panel: duplicate, rename, reorder, copy and paste, or multi-select pages to share or delete. Copy pages from one note into another, several at a time. Switch between continuous scroll and a two-page book view, and pinch to zoom in on detail. Each note reopens on the exact page you left off.
ORGANIZE EVERYTHING
• Nested folders with a folder tree; drag a note onto a folder to move it
• Pinned folders, favorites, tags and tag filters
• Due dates and reminders on any note, so no deadline slips by
• Fast full-text search across titles and content
• Sort by date modified, date created, title or deadline
• Duplicate any note in one tap
• Trash keeps deleted notes for 30 days, so nothing is lost by accident
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Lock any note or folder with its own PIN and an optional hint. Locked notes are encrypted on your device with a key derived from your PIN. Noteora works fully offline, needs no sign-up and never uploads your notes anywhere.
EXPORT & SHARE
Export typed or handwritten notes as pixel-perfect PDFs or plain text, and text notes as Word documents. Export the whole note or only the pages you pick, then share instantly through the native share sheet.
• Vector PDF export: razor sharp at any zoom, far smaller files. Convert anything into pdf.
MADE FOR iPHONE AND iPAD
Light, dark and system themes, a full color palette, adjustable zoom and a guided tour that has you writing within a minute. Available in 12 languages.

Ratings & Reviews
This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
Noteora 1.1 is our biggest update yet. Thank you for every review and message: most of what is below came straight from your feedback.
WRITE ON PDFs AND PHOTOS
• Open a PDF or image from Files, Mail or Safari and handwrite or type right on its pages
• Add the pages to a new note or to one you already have, at the beginning or at the end
• Imported PDFs now render at a higher resolution, so small print stays crisp
• Add photos to handwritten notes and write over them
• Share several PDFs at once: Noteora asks how you want to edit each one, back to back
WORD DOCUMENTS (.DOCX)
• Import Word files with their own fonts, sizes and line spacing, so a document keeps the same number of pages it had
• Export any text note as a Word document, with headings, lists, tables and page measurements
• Open .docx files from Files or Mail directly into Noteora as a new text note
TABLES
• Create tables inside text notes, import them from Word and export them to PDF and Word
SMARTER HANDWRITING
• Shape recognition: hold the pen at the end of a stroke to snap it into a line, rectangle, square or circle, then resize it with handles. A rectangle keeps the angle you drew it at
• Object pen: select, move, rotate and scale anything already on the page
• Apple Pencil double-tap switches between the eraser and the pen you last used
• The highlighter keeps one even thickness, like a real felt tip
• Handwriting PDFs now export as vector paths: sharp at any zoom and far smaller files
• A new guided tour walks you through every tool in the handwriting editor
A NEW PAGES PANEL
• Duplicate, copy, paste, rename and reorder pages
• Multi-select pages to share or delete them together
• Copy several pages from one note into another
• Text and handwritten notes now share the same panel
• The panel opens on the page you are on and keeps its place in selection mode
PICK UP WHERE YOU LEFT OFF
• Every note reopens on the page you were last editing
• Nested folders with a folder tree in the side panel; drag a note onto a folder to move it
• Duplicate is now in the note options sheet
• An improved Trash makes it easier to restore what you deleted
• The page now fills the full width of the screen; the grey band at the edge is gone
FIXES
• Typing in an imported document could flatten the whole note into the first line's style
• The cut, copy and paste toolbar did not appear for a selection across a page break
• Notes with a long title could not be renamed
• The list button lit up on a plain line under a list
• Highlighter lag at large thicknesses, and the band appearing to crack at turns
• Sharing one selected page shared the first page instead
• Photos and file cards now stay anchored to their page when a page is deleted, moved or duplicated
• Shapes no longer lose their corners when moved with the object pen
• The eraser now removes exactly the circle it draws
• A handwritten note stays in dark mode when a scanned page is pasted into it
• The import preview now always appears
• Many smaller fixes for text and handwritten notes
WHY IT MATTERS
These changes make Noteora a single place for the whole life of a document: open the PDF your teacher or client sent, write on it with Apple Pencil, add your own typed pages and tables, reorder everything in the pages panel and send it back as a crisp PDF or a Word file. No more jumping between three apps to finish one task.
TRY IT NOW
Open any PDF from your Files app and write on it, draw a circle and hold the pen to watch it snap, open the pages panel in a long note, or import a Word file and watch it keep its page count. Everything still lives only on your device: no account, no sign-up, no cloud.
