Built on the open-source Signal protocol. /chat is a private, invite-only messenger for the people you actually want to talk to. End-to-end encrypted by default. Built on the open-source Signal protocol with post-quantum (Kyber) keys, so messages are protected against both today's and tomorrow's eavesdroppers. The server never sees your messages, photos, voice notes, or who you're talking with about what. No ads. No algorithm. No tracking. No phone number required. There is no public sign-up. To join, someone already on /chat sends you an invite code. You redeem it, pick a username, and you're in — no SMS, no contact-list upload, no shadow profile. The infrastructure is intentionally small: one server, fully audited dependencies, all source on path to publication. Built for friends and family who want their messages to stay between them. If that's you, ask whoever invited you for a code, or wait for one to arrive. Permissions used: • Notifications: to alert you when friends message • Microphone: only when recording a voice note • Photos: only when attaching a photo (read-only, you pick what to share) • Camera (future): only when you tap the camera shortcut in a chat Encrypted with libsignal — the same library that powers Signal. Standard, audited, public algorithms.
