Twice a day, gravity from the Moon and Sun stretches the entire solid Earth into a slow, planet-sized bulge. Earth Tide makes that invisible motion visible, in real time, anywhere on the planet.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Tide Chart — Watch vertical ground displacement in millimeters. Pan, zoom, and scrub through time to pinpoint exact peaks and troughs over hours, days, or weeks.
• Tidal Compass — A live overlay shows where the Moon and Sun are pulling the ground right now. Switch to AR mode and point your camera at the sky to see the forces around you.
• 3D Globe — Spin a rotatable, color-coded Earth and watch the tidal bulge sweep across continents and coastlines.
• Anywhere on Earth — Use your current location or search any place in the world.
SERIOUS SCIENCE, MADE SIMPLE
Earth Tide is powered by the modern Yang et al. (2024) rotational-ellipsoid model, with published accuracy several times higher than the legacy method most tools rely on. The Moon does roughly 70% of the work; the Sun the other 30%. Whether you're a student, scientist, surveyor, or simply curious, you're seeing real geophysics.
