Landscape is rebuilt around a chat layout you pick, every message you send says where it actually got to, and the composer can hold a line and post it again and again. LANDSCAPE, YOUR WAY Turn the phone and chat has a layout of its own: Settings > Video > Chat layout, or the menu in the landscape top bar. Chat beside video, the default, gives chat its own column next to the picture; the divider drags to set the split, and the video always keeps its share of the screen. Chat over video floats chat above a full-width picture as small plates that hug the text, with the stream itself between the lines. One tap hides chat entirely in either layout, and your choice, your width and the hidden state all survive rotations and relaunches. The resize bar now responds exactly where it is drawn, scrolls chat when you drag it up or down, and VoiceOver can resize the panel and hear its width. SENDING THAT TELLS THE TRUTH Your message appears the moment you send it rather than after Twitch answers, and the box is free for the next one straight away. A message that is still on its way, failed, or held for review says so, with a refusal quoted in Twitch's own words instead of quietly vanishing. A failed message keeps your words, so Retry sends it again and Discard hands the text back. Sending pulls the list down to your own line, and an opt-in line above the box shows when a channel is followers-only, in slow mode, or emote-only. HOLD SEND, REPEAT A LINE Type something and press and hold Send for about half a second: a ring charges, the line clicks into place, and every tap of Send posts it again. An X at the left of the box unlocks and clears in one motion, and switching channels or starting a reply unlocks too, keeping your text as an ordinary draft. The message-options menu carries an untimed Lock message row for anyone who cannot comfortably press and hold, and VoiceOver gets lock and unlock as actions on the Send button. 7TV, END TO END Link a 7TV account and manage emote sets for your own channel and any channel you edit: search the directory, add, rename, remove, and undo. Choose your name paint from a rebuilt wardrobe that opens instantly and previews each paint with your own name. Add an emote straight from the peek card in chat, search all of 7TV without leaving your message, and read a quiet line in chat when a channel's emotes change. A 7TV emote link now renders as a card with the emote, its name and its artist. CHAT THAT KNOWS PEOPLE The profile card reads identity, then history, then relationship, then actions, with an account-age caption and Report and Block in plain sight. A chatter with a localized display name shows both names, in Twitch's own order. Long-pressing a message opens a compact platter instead of a screen-tall list, and moderators get AutoMod-held messages in chat with the flagged text quoted and Allow and Deny on the row. SETTINGS YOU CAN NAVIGATE The rules-and-lists tail of Settings is now three sections named for what they do, search reaches dozens of new places, and About holds "How Limerino works": what the app does, a gesture reference, and every slash command grouped by who can run it. Muted phrases get their own whole-word and match-case switches and now cover emotes and cheermotes. The Highlights inbox is one tap from the rules that fill it. ALSO Favourites in the emote picker. Message separators. Recent custom name colours. A typeface choice and named colour palettes. Live viewer counts on channel rows. Asking Siri to watch a channel. Plus three performance passes and a long run of repairs across chat, emotes, sign-in, video and accessibility, most of them reported by people using the app.

Pictures in chat, 7TV name paints on every name that has one, and two full passes over speed, heat and battery. PICTURES IN CHAT The plus button beside the composer uploads a photo and puts the link in your message, with location and camera details stripped before it leaves the phone. Nothing uploads on its own: an image goes only when you attach or paste one. Uploads land at kappa.lol out of the box, or at your own host if you run one. Whether links from those hosts draw their picture inline is a separate switch, off until you turn it on, so the app fetches nothing from them for a message somebody else posted. PAINTS ON EVERY NAME 7TV name paints were landing on some names and quietly missing others, most visibly when you tagged someone whose messages were not on screen. The app now recognizes the person behind a name, so paints reach mention chips, reply strips, thread views, quoted messages, profiles and replays. A paint that arrives late repaints the rows already showing that name instead of leaving them flat, and a paint dropped when the system reclaims memory comes back rather than staying plain until the next message. FASTER, COOLER, LONGER Two sweeps across launch, channel opening, chat rendering, emotes, images, storage and networking. Switching channels paints chat first instead of waiting on the stream banner, your own message appears the moment you send it, the emote picker opens without its first-time pause, and a busy channel no longer redraws the whole screen with every arriving message. Idle cost is lower, so a long session should be easier on the battery. GESTURES THAT DO WHAT YOU MEANT A swipe to reply no longer fires whatever it slid across: author names, whisper captions, link cards and clip cards stay put until you tap one deliberately. A mention keeps its color when that person's messages age out, instead of flashing to white. Dragging chat down to dismiss the keyboard hands off to the system's own scrolling rather than fighting it, and rotating in split view keeps both sides where you left them. KEEP THE SCREEN AWAKE A new switch in Settings, under Device, off by default. Turn it on and your phone will not auto-lock anywhere in Limerino; normal locking resumes the moment you leave. It costs battery, which is why it ships off. ALSO Timed-out and banned messages say for how long and why. Tapping a mention opens its channel and finds the message. Relative times drop the ticking seconds. A slow credential check no longer shows you signed out over a perfectly good login. Emotes that fell back to text after a rough patch of connection come back on their own. Plus a long list of smaller repairs across chat, whispers, moderation tools, settings and the video player, most of them reported by people using the app.

Landscape is rebuilt around chat beside video, whispers happen inline where you already are, and returning to the app no longer means waiting for chat to catch up. LANDSCAPE, REBUILT Turning the phone now puts chat alongside the stream instead of hiding it behind a cover you had to dismiss. The split is the default, the video keeps its proportions, and the live title can be tucked away when you want the picture and the conversation and nothing else. WHISPERS WITHOUT LEAVING THE CONVERSATION Private messages appear inline in the channel you are watching, in the sender's real colour, so a whisper no longer means a trip to another screen. Long-press any message and you can start a whisper to that person directly. Sending the first whisper to someone used to be able to lock the app up while it looked the recipient up; it no longer can. CHAT STARTS FLOWING WHEN YOU COME BACK Reopening the app after a while used to sit quiet and then dump a wall of messages at once. Every reconnect was re-downloading each open channel's emotes and badges on the same queue that delivers messages, so live chat queued behind that work. It does not any more, and the effect is largest if you keep several channels open. Reconnects also re-download far less, which is easier on mobile data. 7TV PAINTS, PROPERLY Animated and image-based name paints render the way they do on the web, including drop shadows and gradient stops, rather than being flattened or dropped. A /ME STAYS ON ONE LINE Third-person actions follow your own line-break setting instead of always breaking, and they read as narration, with no stray colon. NAMES YOU CAN ACTUALLY READ Usernames that a person chose in a colour too close to the background are lifted to a readable contrast, so red no longer arrives looking orange, and the choice remains yours to switch off. FASTER PROFILES AND MENTIONS Opening a profile settles without the layout shifting under your thumb, and the mentions list scrolls smoothly at any length. Plus a long list of smaller repairs across chat, moderation tools, notifications, and settings, most of them reported by people using the app.

Reply threads, moderator tools, and a Message history setting that finally means what it says. REPLY THREADS Tap the reply line above a message, or choose View reply thread, and the conversation opens in place with live chat still visible behind it. It opens half height and pulls up to full, and the message you came from stays on screen. The thread is a snapshot on purpose, so it will not grow or reshuffle while you read, and Follow reply thread keeps up with one that is still going. MODERATORS CAN DELETE A MESSAGE In channels you moderate, message actions and the user card both offer Delete. Deleted messages appear struck through and dimmed, or disappear entirely if Hide deleted messages is on. The option only appears where you actually moderate. MESSAGE HISTORY NOW CONTROLS HISTORY The slider used to govern only how much chat was kept in memory. How far back a channel loaded when you opened it was always about a hundred lines, whatever you set. One dial now does both, so raising it and reopening a busy channel lands you noticeably deeper. MENTIONS YOU MISSED WHILE AWAY Signing back in used to leave older mentions unexamined, so a mention further back than the newest hundred messages could never reach your inbox. History also appears on a cold launch without waiting for sign-in to finish. HIGHLIGHT RULES CAN BE REGULAR EXPRESSIONS Mark a rule as a pattern in Settings, Highlights. Existing plain-text rules keep working exactly as before, and an invalid pattern is explained in the editor instead of being quietly ignored. REPLIES TO YOU CAN STOP ALERTING Turn reply pings off and a reply sends no notification while ordinary mentions still arrive. The choice survives relaunching and signing out and back in. TAP A USERNAME FOR RECENT MESSAGES The user card fills from chat the app already has, so nothing is fetched. 7TV EMOTES KEEP WORKING 7TV is changing how a channel's emote set is delivered on August 3. Without this update a channel's 7TV emotes would simply stop appearing, and silently, with the emote names rendered as plain text instead. Live emote updates would stop arriving too. Nothing to turn on. ALSO IN THIS UPDATE Tapping chat dismisses the keyboard. Tapping a message, username or emote still does its own thing. ONE THING REMOVED Video no longer continues playing when the app is not on screen, and the floating window is off. Rotating, the app switcher, and a sheet over the player all still count as on screen, so playback does not stop for any of them. iPad is still iPhone-scaled.

1.0.8 is the biggest Limerino update yet: clips and past broadcasts now play inside the app — with the chat that was live at that moment replaying right beside them. CLIPS AND VIDEOS, IN THE APP - Tap a clip or video link in chat and it opens in a full-screen player instead of sending you to Safari. Timestamped links open at the right moment, and a clip can jump to its source broadcast. - Browse any channel's videos and clips from the new videos button in the chat header — sort videos by newest, trending, or most viewed; filter clips by date range. - Share a clip or video link from Safari, or from any app's share sheet, straight into Limerino. - Chat replay: past broadcasts and clips replay the stream's own chat, paced to playback — video on top with chat below in portrait, a side column in landscape. Replay is read-only. LANDSCAPE THAT GETS OUT OF THE WAY While you watch in landscape, the top bar steps aside so video and chat get the whole screen. Stream title cards can be tapped away, and tuck themselves after a moment so the title glances then yields. NOTIFICATIONS, REBUILT - Notifications now group into proper stacks, by channel or by type. - Bursts — sub trains, raid waves, first-message floods — collapse into one notification with a live count, and every combine window is adjustable. - Each stream, whisper, and chat-event alert type has its own style: Prominent, Quiet, or Off. - Mute one person's notifications from their user card, or straight from a mention notification. - The mentions inbox now catches up on mentions from while the app was closed — one Mentions list holding your full account history, sortable, filterable by time, and searchable by sender. - That inbox now loads one page at a time as you scroll instead of pulling your whole history at once, and it holds its place under your thumb. PINS, THREADS, AND EMOTES - Twitch's own pinned messages appear in a banner at the top of chat, with moderator pin and unpin (confirmation first) and an adjustable auto-hide. Your private bookmark is now called Saved, so "pin" means Twitch's real pin. - Follow a reply thread and its replies get a highlight and an inbox entry, even without an @-mention. - Tap any emote — Twitch, 7TV, BTTV, or FFZ — to enlarge it and see its name, its provider, and its creator credit when the provider publishes one. - The emote picker groups emotes under the channel that granted them, with a rail to jump between channels, and its search matches a broadcaster's name as well as an emote's code. MODERATION AND COMMANDS - Poll and prediction lifecycle: /endpoll, /cancelpoll, /lockprediction, /cancelprediction, /completeprediction, plus live status readouts. - Colored announcements, editable timeout presets that drive both the user card and the swipe escalation, and custom command macros with name, channel, and input placeholders. RELIABILITY - Switching channels now health-checks the chat connection on the spot, so a quietly dead connection is redialed in seconds instead of leaving chat frozen. - A locked device or a slow keychain at launch no longer bounces you to signed out. - Sign out and back in without losing your history: blocks and muted phrases stay on this device, and your mentions come back tied to your account. - The mention badge counts only what is genuinely unread: it shows the real number at any count, it drops mentions you delete, and a count carried over from an earlier launch clears the moment you open the inbox. - AutoMod held-message notices name the channel again. - The emote image cache now sits outside your device backup and prunes itself to a ceiling that actually binds. ALSO IN 1.0.8 - Supporter name colors from 7TV now render on chat usernames. - The channel switcher is simpler: Followed already puts live channels first, so the separate Live tab is gone.

1.0.7 makes mention notifications rock-solid. - Fixed a crash when opening the app by tapping a mention notification while Limerino was fully closed. - The Mention Vault now refreshes when you open it from a notification and whenever you return to the app — the newest mentions always appear at the top right away, and the app badge clears once you've seen them.

Mention alerts and a smoother chat engine headline 1.0.6. MENTION ALERTS: get a push notification when someone @mentions you in chat, even while Limerino is closed. Scope alerts to channels you follow or all of Twitch, mute individual channels, set quiet hours, sender cooldowns, and digest delivery — all under Settings > Notifications. Your mention history lives in the new Mention Vault. SMOOTHER CHAT: the chat list was rebuilt on a new rendering engine tuned for the busiest channels — pinned chat follows new messages in clean steps with no jumps or drift, your reading position holds exactly while you scroll back, and ProMotion iPhones now render chat at up to 120Hz. ALSO IN 1.0.6: - Live chat connects faster after a cold launch. - New notification controls: whisper alerts, highlight alerts, and per-rule notify/sound settings. - Message notifications no longer duplicate your own sent messages. - VoiceOver: chat rows offer Pause auto-scroll and Jump to newest in the Actions rotor, and mention announcements only fire on genuine arrivals. - Settings polish across the board, plus a one-time update prompt when a new version is available. - Many smaller fixes and performance improvements.

One sign-in now covers everything: chat and the video player share the same Twitch session, so signing in once keeps you signed in everywhere. Chat got a quality pass — moderator badges always show (with a clear text stand-in while artwork loads), usernames keep their correct colors, and text spacing scales properly with your message-size setting. Chat also reconnects promptly after network blips instead of stalling. Reporting a bug or suggesting a feature from Settings is simpler, and Settings itself is cleaner throughout.

Fixes sign-in reliability in the video player: the app no longer asks you to sign in on every launch, and your session persists across restarts. Also fixes the newest chat message being hidden behind the message box when opening a quiet channel, and @mentions now display in the mentioned user's own name color. You can also now report a bug directly from Settings — describe the problem and it goes straight to the developer.

Limerino 1.0.3 is a big quality release: • Whispers: read and reply to private messages. • Moderator tools: AutoMod queue, timeouts, bans, and a moderation log. • A Home Screen widget and Live Activities for your favorite channels. • Smoother keyboard and composer, a refreshed stream info card, and dozens of polish, stability, and performance fixes across the app.
