A simple Bible app, made for reading.
Simply Scripture gives you a calm, uncluttered place to read the Bible, save the passages that speak to you and return to them whenever you need.
NO ADS OR PURCHASES, ALWAYS FREE
Everything is free, with no ads, in-app purchases or subscriptions. You don't need an account to read, save passages or write notes.
DOWNLOAD YOUR FAVORITE VERSION
Bibles in 11 languages are included and ready to read offline from your first launch, including the King James Version (KJV). Download the versions you want and they stay on your device, even without an internet connection.
SAVE PASSAGES, HIGHLIGHTS AND NOTES
Select a verse or a longer passage to save it, highlight it in the color of your choice or write a personal note. Everything stays connected to the Scripture that inspired it.
BUILD YOUR COLLECTION
Gather passages around a theme, a study or a season of life. Your saved passages, highlights and notes come together in one place.
SIRI AI AND SHORTCUTS
Ask Siri to open a passage, continue reading or work with your collections, or build your own shortcuts. With Siri AI on iOS 27, you can also find your notes. English-language study notes and Bible dictionary entries from Tyndale are available through Shortcuts.
EVERY BOOK, BEAUTIFULLY TYPESET
Choose your font and text size, light or dark appearance, and read in portrait or landscape. The screen stays on while you read.
SIMPLE, QUICK NAVIGATION
Jump to any book and chapter in a moment, and pick up where you left off from your recent reading.
YOUR LIBRARY, KEPT PRIVATE
Your notes, highlights and collections save to your device first. Sync them with your private iCloud when available, or with an optional Simply Scripture account.
Siri AI features require a compatible iPhone with iOS 27 and depend on language and region.
Just the Word.
• Share a link to a specific Bible passage. Select one or more verses and tap Share; the link opens the same passage in the app.
• Improved reading and sync reliability.
• Translation fixes and other small improvements.
