Spanish practice now comes in two accents. In Settings, pick Carolina or Martín to hear voices and wording from Spain in every activity, or keep the Latin American voices.

Everything fits the screen better: text wraps instead of getting cut off, and the answer buttons stay put when the words appear. When you reach a milestone, you can now play your recap, a short look back at your practice. Everyday Scenarios asks different questions each visit, and Group Conversations now comes in every practice language. Word Pairs now only offers pairs that are clear in the voice you chose. Stories now gets a little harder on its own when you're doing well.

A clearer Progress screen: what got easier, and one thing to try next. When you reach a milestone, you can now share it. The listening check starts faster, and if a clip doesn’t play, you can hear it again.

SoundSteps in your language Menus and messages now appear in your language across the app, including the About and FAQ pages. Also in this version • Clearer word recordings in French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, German, Swedish and Japanese. • Small fixes.

Milestone reports When you reach a new milestone, your report is ready in Progress. It shows your practice so far and what got easier. You can print it or save it as a PDF right from the app. Also in this version • The appointment summary now saves as a PDF in the app, too. • Small fixes.

A quieter end to your free week When your free week ends, the Premium offer now opens a few times instead of every time you open the app. It shows Everyday Scenarios, and your free practice keeps going. Also in this version • Small fixes.

Clearer names and a calmer trial Word Detection is now called what it is: you listen for a word, not a tone. Settings shows when your free week ends and that there is nothing to cancel. Practice screens no longer get rewritten by the browser's translator. Also in this version • Small fixes.

Names that say what you will hear Every activity's name and description now match what actually plays, in every language. Two screens that still showed English are now in your language. Also in this version • Small fixes.

Voices in your language, from the first screen When you first open SoundSteps in German, Portuguese or another language, the voice choices now match that language, and tapping one plays a sample in it. Also in this version • Speed choices appear only where slower and faster recordings exist. • Small fixes.

Sentences: the right answers, every time In Sentences, a question could briefly show answer choices from another language, and mark one of them correct. Fixed. Also in this version • The About page now scrolls on the phone. • Activities load more reliably when you switch practice languages. • Small fixes.

Your language, all the way through The start screens for several activities were showing English even when the rest of the app was in your language. They now match the language you practice in. Also in this version • A word pair with offensive language has been removed, in every language. • Small fixes and clearer wording.

A voice you know Ask a family member or friend to record a few lines, and their voice reads stories to you in SoundSteps. Listening only, no questions, with fresh stories every month. Part of Premium. Also in this version • Today's plan and the activity list show only what's available in your practice language. • Small fixes and clearer wording.

A better first day Take the quick listening check and your first session is matched to how you hear. Or choose what you find hard — a noisy room, wind outdoors, a younger voice — and start right there, with the sound already set up. Also in this version • A daily card for practicing by place or person. • The background sound control is now in more activities. • Small fixes and clearer wording.

Hear it again Every activity now has a replay button you can always reach, even on a small phone. You can replay a whole story while you answer its questions. The Listening Check Rebalanced the 2-minute starting check, and it now saves to your account. Also in this version • During your free week, the practice voice changes daily so you hear more than one voice. • The screen no longer cuts off on small phones, and progress tracking is more accurate.

Wind and outdoor practice New outdoor scenes let you practice listening when the wind picks up — the kind of noise that makes a walk or a patio table hard to follow. Pick your background noise In Word Pairs you can now choose the noise you practice against, and turn it up as you get steadier. Also in this version • Your language choice now stays put between sessions. • Fixes to make your progress tracking more accurate.
