Pop In Be Social
Permission to see your people
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Pop In helps you see your people more, without the group chat back-and-forth. Everyone sees when, where and who's coming, and hears right away if the plan changes.
• Free for a bit? Pop up for an hour or three, and the friends you pick can drop by.
• Doing something? Make the plan: a time, a place, who it's for. Send.
• Can't land on a time? Send a poll and see which time works for the most people.
• Big night? Send an invitation that opens like an envelope.
• Found something good? Share it, and a friend can turn it into a plan.
• Each plan has its own chat, so the details don't get buried.
• The Table shows what everyone loves and what they can't eat.
• Loved it? Run it back with the same people.
Just your people. No public feed, no strangers, no tracking. You add friends in person or with your link, and you both say yes.
Pop Ups, plans, parties, posts and chat are free. Polls, co-hosts, bring lists and plan drafts come with 3 free uses each; after that they're part of Pop In Planner, an optional subscription for people who host a lot.
Made by a husband-and-wife team in Los Feliz, California. See your people.
Pop In Planner subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the period. Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple Account settings.

This update is about the moment you make something with your people: a plan, a Pop Up or a find to share.
Starting a plan
• Pick who it's for right from the faces, with Everyone first and you already in.
• The time starts blank. Open it to see good times for the next few days, or pick any day.
• Add a bring list, co-hosts or a guest limit right under When and Where.
• One line above the button says who will see it before you send.
• Run it back on one of your plans and the same people come with it.
• Stepped away mid-plan? Your people and photo are waiting when you come back.
Free this afternoon?
• Pop Up asks what's the vibe, then for how long: start right away or in a few hours, for 1 to 3 hours. Your past Pop Ups are one tap away.
Found something good?
• Share a show, a menu or an event with your people, and add an area so friends nearby see it too.
Links that read well
• Paste a reservation, tickets or a menu into the details. Each link shows by its site name with a row of its own, in the app and on the page friends open from a text.
On the plan page
• Hosting? Tap your title or note to change it right there. A long press on the time or place changes those.
• Edit plan opens the same page you made it on. Your changes wait until you tap Update plan.
• Every plan has a Table for what people love and skip. Hide it from the menu if you don't need it.
Plus smaller touches: a faces view on People, bigger faces on Pop Ups, your drafts in one list, co-hosts right in the Open to row, and times in 15-minute steps.

This update is about the part before you see your people: when, where, and who's at the table.
When a plan is still taking shape
• Planning sits at the top of the Plans tab, with what needs you first: a friend's poll to vote on, or your own once everyone has voted.
• A number on the tab counts what's waiting on you.
• No time or place yet? Choose TBD and it saves as a draft. When it comes together, tap Create plan.
• Polls, co-hosts, bring lists and drafts come with 3 free uses each, then they're part of Pop In Planner.
Around the table
• Once friends join, the Table is one quiet row under Who's in. Open it to see what to keep in mind and what people love and skip.
• Hosting a meal? You'll see the allergies to plan around before you open it.
Plans in another time zone
• Planning a trip? Set the time zone right under the time.
• A plan somewhere else shows its local time, labeled, plus your time on the plan page.
Plus smaller touches: tap Plans again to jump back to the top.
1.0.19 Oct 15
This update is about the moment you meet someone, and the plans that come after.
Meet someone, add them right there
• Together in person? Tap your face on People to show your code. When they scan it, you're friends on the spot.
• Sharing your link instead? Whoever opens it can ask to connect, and they'll show up at the top of People.
• Not ready to say yes? "Not now" sets it aside quietly. They're never told.
• From there, plan something together in one tap.
For ideas that aren't plans yet
• Have an idea but no time or place? Save it as a possible plan on the Plans tab.
• Add a time or a place whenever it comes together, then make it a plan. Everyone you picked hears about it then.
• Plan it with a friend: co-planners shape it with you.
• Possible plans are part of Pop In Planner, and your first one is on us.
A gentler start
• New here? You'll make your first plan instead of sitting through a tour.
Plus smaller touches: the Table always shows what to plan around, and Activity keeps new things marked until you've seen them.
1.0.18 Oct 10
A big one. Pop In is roomier, quicker, and more about your people.
Picking who's invited: search for anyone, or tap a tag and everyone in it is checked. Uncheck anyone you'd leave out. Your picks build right in front of you, as faces or a list.
People: your tags sit right on the tab, and a tag looks the same everywhere. Swipe a friend to hide them from your list. Only you see who's hidden. Tap your face for your code.
Co-hosts plan as a team. Each of you can open a plan to your own friends, and you both see everyone who's invited.
Party invites now arrive as a sealed envelope you open once.
Plans read like a ticket: when and where up top, faces first, and how much room is left.
Everything opens from where you tap it and tucks back into the same spot.
Add cover art from your photos, images you've used before, or Pop In art.
Chats are grouped as Happening now, Unread, Upcoming, and Past.
A plan you see through a friend shows who you both know. Private plans stay private, on the web too.
Plus fixes: end times stick when you edit a plan.
1.0.17 Oct 8
Your people, one tap away.
• Tap anyone, anywhere. Every face and name in Pop In now opens that person: a friend's profile, or, for someone you met at a plan, their card, where you can ask to connect for a week after you hang.
• Friend tags, rebuilt. See everyone in a tag as a wall of faces or a list, and start a plan with the whole crew in one tap: "Plan a hang with Close Friends."
• In plan chat, tap a face in "joined" to see them, or the row to see everyone who's in.
• Polish: a friend's photo at the top of their Hangs, Notebook and Food pages takes you back to their profile, and food preferences read more naturally ("Nothing too spicy").
1.0.13 Sep 29
Faster, friendlier, and easier to actually show up.
Chat is free for everyone
Everyone in a plan, party, or Pop Up can write in its group chat, no subscription needed. Polls get their chat once they become a plan.
A fresh page for every friend
Plan a hang with them already invited, see when they've popped up or are hosting something you can join, and open Hangs to see everything you've done together. Tap “Run it back” on a past plan to do it again. When their birthday's coming up, one tap starts planning it.
Notes and food, close at hand
Each friend has a notebook only you can see; jot a quick note right from their page. Their Food page shows what they've shared, color-coded, with allergies first in red.
Your day, up top
Home now leads with what you're hosting or said yes to in the next 24 hours: a countdown, then “Happening now,” with the chat one tap away.
Text this plan
Hosting? One tap opens Messages with the invite already written. Or copy the link and drop it anywhere.
A gentle nudge
Hosts can nudge anyone who hasn't answered their plan, once each. On parties and polls, one tap nudges everyone still deciding, once a day, and your polls now show who's answered.
Add to calendar that works
Opens your phone's own calendar screen, all filled in, so it goes on whichever calendar you've set up on your phone.
Easier to see who's coming
Everyone going shows four across. Hosting a plan or party? The folks who haven't answered stay tucked away until you want them.
Friend requests, right away
Friend requests now show up as soon as you open the app. Tap one to see who it is before you say yes.
Smaller touches
Home opens faster and its photos load sooner. Parties you went to now show in your past plans, and chat badges clear once you've caught up. Tap a friend tag to see everyone with that tag. Dark mode is easier to read, the tab bar steps aside while you type, and unmuting a friend now works. No photo yet? There's an easy moment to add one so friends see your face. Save stays in reach when editing.
Some hosting extras, like polls, bring lists, and seating your family at the table, come with Pop In Planner, our optional subscription.
1.0.12 Sep 29
Hosts now get real guest lists. Plans show the host an Open-to list — who's in, who wished they could make it, and who hasn't replied — and a wish expands right on the list so the host can reply with a quick note or an emoji. Wishers get their own warm "wish I could make it" note, with the host's reply waiting privately on the plan. Parties now speak classic invitation language: Invited, Accepted, Declined.
1.0.10 Sep 20
This one's about getting from "when works for everyone?" to an actual plan.
New: Poll. Tap Create, then Poll, and let your people vote on the day and the place for the next hang. Your open polls sit together at the top of your Plans tab, so you always know where they are.
As answers come in, you'll hear who got back to you, and when enough people have answered. When you're ready, tap Create plan. Everything from the poll comes along, with what people picked shown right next to the date and place. Go with the favorite, pick something else, or change anything you like. Want to make it a party instead? Press and hold.
Friends who picked the time you chose will know it's one of theirs. Co-hosts can make the plan too.
Tapping a notification now takes you straight to the part it's about: the poll, the guest list, or the bring list.
New setting: while you're at a plan, keep your other plans quiet in the app.
The calendar folds down to a single week you can swipe through, and Create is easier to reach with one thumb.
Plus fixes: a poll no longer shows as "happening now" before it's a plan.
1.0.7 Sep 14
Two updates' worth of good stuff in this one.
Deciding together got easier. Send a poll before anything's locked — friends tap the times that work, you see how many answered, and when you're ready, you pick the winner and the real invites go out. People who voted for the winning time see "That works — I'm in." Plans still deciding their date sit in their own "Still deciding" spot on your Plans tab, not scattered through your calendar. And if a plan needs a pause, set it aside quietly and bring it back whenever.
Invite people you've just asked to be friends with. Pick them when you make the plan — they see nothing until they accept, and the moment they do, the plan is already there waiting.
Photos got a real home. Every image you've used on your plans and posts lives in "Used Images" — reuse one anywhere with two taps, or tidy up the ones you're done with. Adding a photo now shows its progress and speaks up if it doesn't come through, instead of leaving you guessing.
Chat links look like they should — a real preview card, like the ones you share in Messages, tappable and readable.
Faster and steadier everywhere: notification taps land where they point, chats stay live, and the app opens instantly with what it already knows. New friends stay pinned at the top of People with a NEW tag until you say hi.
And when a host moves a plan, the heads-up tells the whole story — "Sunday, 7pm to 5pm" — and lands in your Activity feed too, so a missed notification never means a missed change.
1.0.6 Aug 11
This one's about seeing your people — literally.
Plans now show who's in, right on the card — faces and names, before you even tap. And joining feels like something happened: a little beat, a check, then "You're in."
Every plan card wears a proper calendar chip now — the day, the date, the time — readable at a glance, and it follows light and dark mode. It says TODAY and TMRW when it's close.
Your day leads your Home. Anything you've got going today sits right under your greeting, steps forward 30 minutes before it starts, and becomes "happening now" at start time.
Faster everywhere: the app opens in one beat — even on a quiet morning — and plans, pop ups, and chats open instantly with what's already known, filling in fresh details as they arrive.
Open to share: flip it on, and the people who joined can pass your plan along to their own friends. The guest list shows who brought whom. Party invitations stay invitation-only.
Made something great? Run it back — same crew, same photo, same time-of-day — from any past plan, in one tap.
Little honesty fixes throughout: plans default to a couple of hours (parties get four) instead of "until midnight," saving an idea for later keeps your photo, ending a plan ends it everywhere immediately, and plans now say who they're open to — "Open to a few," "Open to many" — so a group invite never reads like a personal summons. Who you invited stays yours: friends see that a plan is open to a few or to many, never the list behind it.
1.0.5 Jul 20
Pop In just got faster, friendlier, and more dependable.
Faster: the app opens straight to your plans — no more waiting on a loading screen, and no re-loading every time you come back to Home.
Steadier: plans you've joined stay put, even through network hiccups. And when your connection blips, you'll see a quiet "Reconnecting…" instead of an alarming banner.
Friending is now always a two-way yes. When someone taps your invite link or scans your QR code, they ask to connect — and you decide in People. Your link can travel anywhere; only you choose who's in.
Friend profiles got some love:
• "Friends since" — tap to set when the friendship really started
• "Invite to a plan" — one tap from their profile, and they're already on the invite
• Plans together now counts every hang you've both been at
• Sort your people A to Z, or by recently added
Co-hosts are full joiners — the plan chat, "happening now," and reminders all work for them just like they do for hosts.
Spot an open day on your calendar? Tap "Add plan" and the date's already set.
1.0.4 Jul 13
We've been smoothing out the parts of planning that used to be a hassle, so more of your plans actually happen.
Co-hosts can really help now. A co-host can edit the plan, run polls, manage the bring list, and join the chat, so it isn't all on one person.
Need to remove someone from a plan? Hosts and co-hosts can now do that cleanly.
Time polls now include a simple "can't make any of these times" option.
Table now works for the whole group. Everyone can see the group's allergies and dietary needs with a count, so you know what's safe to bring. Names stay private.
Friend-invite links now open with a clean preview.
Plus fixes to chat, reminders, and the "happening now" moments.
