Lock one and it opens only with Face ID; its moments stay out of your story, search, widgets and the web. • Chapters, rebuilt. Name a stretch of days — a trip, a new job, the week you were sick — and every day inside shows where you are: "day 3 of 7". Chapters can overlap, start tomorrow or stay open. • Every ritual at a glance. Its page shows your days as squares, from a month to a year, with how often you kept it right beside them. • Your journal on any computer. Bring your old journal with you. Mark now reads a Day One export whole — every entry, with its photographs, its places and its dates. Tags become threads you can actually read, and an import can be taken straight back out. Ask mark. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, ask a question about your own life and the answer is drawn from your own entries, on your phone. Nothing is sent anywhere. Found wherever you look. Your moments turn up in iPhone search, Siri can write one down without opening the app, and Apple Intelligence now understands a journal natively. One page, no fields. The composer stopped asking you to name things. Write, and a short first line becomes the title on its own. A day, read as one entry. A day with several moments in it reads as one continuous page instead of a stack of cards. Chapters. Name the stretch a day belonged to — a trip, a course, a hard month — so the numbers make sense. Plus two full-height widgets, photographs at their full size with Live Photos intact, and an iPad that uses the whole screen.

the day itself • a day is now a thing you can keep. how it felt, and anything you want to say about it — read back as one line: "a bright day, 195 days into injury." • chapters — name a stretch of your life and every day inside it says so. an injury, a trip, a rehab, a big push, or your own words. one day or one year. they show up on your month, and you can tap one to see just those days. • links, the way you wanted them — hide a link behind your own words, and decide for each one whether it shows a preview. hold a card to hide it, hold the tag to bring it back. • iPad — threads, chapters, writing into a day, and the full moment page all work on iPad now.

small repairs • writing a moment — tapping back into what you wrote puts the cursor where you tapped, and the copy and paste menu is back. deleting at the top no longer throws the page to the bottom. • setting a custom time — swipe the hour or minute column like a spinner. the buttons are still there for the last nudge. thank you to the reader who wrote in with both.

a moment written about a past day now saves to that day. open a day, write about it, and the entry stays there. it had been quietly filing to today instead — nothing was lost, it just went to the wrong date. entries saved before this update keep the date they were given, so if you've written about a past day recently, it's worth a look back.
