- Browse: with the search field empty, you can now work through the dictionary's appendices - place names, station names, solar terms, loanwords, the hundred surnames, dialect comparisons, and proverbs. Somewhere to start when no particular word comes to mind. - Browse: a kinship calculator. Tap 父 (father), 妹 (younger sister), 夫 (husband) the way you would a calculator, and out comes the Taiwanese term for that relative (姑丈 koo-tiūnn), with the dictionary's own definition. - Search: type a name in Hanji and get its Taiwanese reading, character by character. Surnames and given names are handled separately, with literary and colloquial readings side by side. - Study: when "next question" appears after you answer, the choices are no longer pushed off the screen.

- Study: practice now varies on its own. It used to stay on "see the character, pick the meaning" unless you went looking for more. Now two ways of asking open as soon as you see a card, and each round adds another - from the sound, from the meaning - ending with dictation. There is nothing left to tap to unlock them. - Study: the "pick the character for this meaning" question has been rebuilt. It used to show the Tai-lo and play the example sentence, which made it a listening question in disguise. Now you get the definition and its Mandarin translation, and nothing else. - Study: bookmark a word from the top right of a study card, the same place and the same gesture as on a dictionary entry. Reporting moved to the top left. - Dictionary: updated to the Ministry of Education dictionary as of 13 September 2026, with two new entries and corrections to alternate readings, definitions, and categories.

- Search: when the Ministry of Education dictionary has no match, three more dictionaries are now searched. Two of them are new — the Ministry's Taiwanese Taigi glossary of school subject terms, and PTS Taigi's lexicon of modern coinages — covering classroom vocabulary and present-day words like mouse, menu, and earned run average. Results are grouped by dictionary, so you can see which one each word comes from. - Search: scrolling the results now dismisses the keyboard, so you no longer have to close it before you can read the words further down. - Study: the menu is organized into three parts — today's study, the 700 common characters, and Tai-lo basics. Tai-lo basics is now five units instead of fourteen rows; tap one to go straight into it, and you can see how far along you are inside each unit. - Study: the 700 common characters now lists every word at once. You can narrow the list to what you have studied, and progress is shown for each block of a hundred. The separate "words studied" page has been folded in here. - Study: swipe left to hide "study from bookmarks", and turn it back on from the Info tab.

- Search: the app no longer opens with the keyboard up. You land on the category browser and tap the search field when you actually want to look something up, instead of dismissing the keyboard first every time. - Study: words you bookmark in the dictionary become your own review deck, so the words you look up are the words you learn. A new list also shows everything you have studied and how well each one has stuck. Learning from bookmarks is part of Taigi Study. - Camera: point at a page and the word nearest the center is picked out for you. Tap anywhere to look it up, with no need to aim at a small box. When a whole block of text is recognized, tapping lists the words it read so you can pick one from them.

- History is now part of Search. Tap the search field to see your full browsing history, swipe to delete single entries, or clear it all at once. The iPhone tab bar has one fewer tab; the iPad and Mac sidebars keep theirs. - The nasalized rimes chart now lists all 9 common ones, following the Ministry of Education Tai-lo handbook, and the heading reads -nn. Thanks to the reader who wrote in. - Phoneme charts now show the full Tai-lo reading of each example character, with the part you are learning marked by color and weight, so an example is no longer misread as the phoneme itself. - Study: new characters are now drawn at random from the 100 you have not learned yet, instead of always starting from the top of the reading order. - Study: the pronunciation section is collapsed when you check an answer, and the play button now sits next to the correct answer. - Fixed the card count in Start Learning being clipped on Mac. - The camera button on the search screen is less prominent.

- New Study tab: from listening drills for pronunciation to learning and reviewing the 700 most common characters. - Tai-lo basics (free): vowels, compound rimes, nasal and stop codas, nasalization, initials and tones, plus spelling and tone sandhi practice. - The 700 common characters, split into 7 lessons. Lesson 1 is free. - The app schedules your reviews and mixes reading, writing and listening. Just answer the questions and the words stay with you. - How much you do today is decided for you. There is no daily quota to set. - New one-time purchase, Study: unlocks lessons 2 to 7 and Tai-lo dictation, and includes everything in Pro. - If you bought Pro before Study went on sale, the learning content unlocks automatically. - Pronounce is now free to try. Open the tab and you will see a real example annotated with Tâi-lô readings, and you can annotate your own Taiwanese text 3 times a day, 30 characters each. - Romanized search no longer needs hyphens: type kinajit to find 今仔日. - Selecting text to look up now commits when you lift your finger. - Report a word the dictionary could not find, in one tap. - A short intro on first launch shows the ways to look words up, including handwriting and the camera. - Fixes: readings from the previous sentence lingered while typing quickly; the search field was rewritten when nothing matched; some screens stayed in Chinese in the Japanese and English interfaces; temporary files left behind by an interrupted audio download are now cleaned up at launch.

Now with POJ search. Type in POJ or with numeric tones (e.g. chhùi, tai5) and the app maps your input to the dictionary's Tâi-lô index automatically — Tâi-lô input still works as before. When you search in POJ, a "POJ → Tâi-lô" hint appears under the search bar, so Tâi-lô results are never confusing.

Added a 7-day free trial: try wildcard search, unlimited camera OCR, look-up anywhere, and advanced widgets. After the trial, the app returns to the free version automatically (no auto-charge).
