Under-the-hood improvements that help find and fix problems faster

• Your first five episodes now get their ads cut and chapters added for free, no trial needed • You can back up your library in Settings and restore it on a new Mac, your episodes download again where they are still available and your podcast app keeps the same feed addresses • A restored episode keeps its edited title and description, the spot where you stopped, and whether you kept or hid it • An episode whose download fails during a sync is tried again on the next one, it used to be skipped for good • The podcast app picker in Settings shows its icon at the right size, it used to cover the Other section

- Transcripts on Apple silicon Macs now come from a faster on-device speech model that also understands ads read in another language, those used to come out as gibberish - The new speech model downloads once, about 600 MB, the first time an episode is transcribed - The monthly chapter allowance is twice as large, Settings now estimates it at about 175 hours of media, the old estimate was too high

- Each subscription can now override chapter generation, sponsor removal and original-file retention - Renaming an episode now keeps its transcript available - Episodes with titles ending in a period now play correctly - Sponsor removal now only matches the Sponsor label in generated chapters - Manual additions now stop at a feed's episode limit instead of being deleted later

- Pulling the audio out of a video episode is now a job you can watch, with its progress in the episode row and the processing window, it used to work away with nothing on screen to say it was running - An episode now drops out of your feed, online and local alike, while Feedcast is rewriting its file and comes back the moment that is done, cutting sponsors or writing chapters used to leave subscribers pulling a half finished file, and the episode tells you why it is being held back - Deleting one of an episode's two media files no longer takes the transcript with it, the transcript and its generated chapters move over to the track you kept - Download Video Version now only turns up on episodes whose show actually offers video, in a feed built from several sources it went by the first one and offered a download that was never going to arrive - Process Again now takes another run at the sponsors in an episode, one that had already been cut once was skipped entirely, so there was no way to pick up sponsors a first pass missed - A feed can now name words it does not want, episodes whose title contains one are left behind when a subscription syncs, and chapters whose title contains one are cut out of the file while the episode is processed

- Feedcast now connects to AI apps like Claude, Cursor, Codex and VS Code, so you can ask them to find an episode, rewrite titles and descriptions, subscribe to a show, generate chapters, read back a transcript, cut sponsors, export a file or start playback, all against the library on your own Mac - Connecting one takes a single paste, the new MCP tab in Settings hands you a setup prompt and the AI app reads it and connects itself, and nothing about the connection leaves your Mac - You decide what an AI app may reach, access stays off until you switch it on and starts out read only, with separate switches for library changes, processing, files, playback, settings, your subscription details and anything that deletes - Extracting the audio track from a video episode now actually produces the audio file, the menu item used to finish without leaving anything behind, and it now tells you why when it cannot work - Podcasts that offer a video version can now be downloaded as video after you already have the episode and the download follows the resolution you picked in Settings

- Online feed hosting is now included for everyone for free and on by default, so Overcast, Pocket Casts, and Castro can finally subscribe in every version - Only the episode listing goes online, at an address nobody can guess. Turn on Local Only for any feed you would rather keep off the web, and your audio keeps streaming from your Mac either way - Transcripts and generated chapters now survive the original file going away, deleting it yourself or letting Feedcast clear it out automatically used to take the transcript with it

- Video episodes now fill the width of the detail pane instead of sitting in a small box, so a video podcast is actually watchable on the Mac - Video now works on shows that only hand their video stream to Apple Podcasts instead of putting it in their feed, like byte, these used to arrive as audio only - Fixed Feedcast seizing up part way through importing a subscription file, where every part of the app that needs the internet would spin forever and only a restart brought it back - Feedcast no longer yanks you to another feed or episode while you're browsing, adding a subscription or finishing a download leaves your place alone - Importing subscriptions from an OPML file is roughly twice as fast and uses half the data, every feed is now fetched once instead of twice - Chapter generation is more dependable on long episodes, it no longer times out partway through or comes back with timestamps that don't line up

- Podcast and local episodes now get the same new and improved processing: thumbnails, chapters from the description or generated for you, and sponsor removal - Sponsors called out in an episode's own chapters are now cut from podcast and local episodes too, not just YouTube - Local files with a YouTube link are re-checked for SponsorBlock segments for a while after they publish, so ads flagged after download still get removed on a later pass - You can now hide any episode from your podcast feed, and bring it back whenever you like, from the editor, the toolbar, or the right-click menu - Processing that runs into a problem now shows a clear failure mark in Downloads & Processing instead of spinning forever - The player in the episode view no longer gets stuck after an episode finishes processing - The Downloads window is now Downloads & Processing: it also shows when episodes are being transcribed or getting chapters generated, with live transcription progress - An episode's Transcript tab now fills in live as it's transcribed, with a progress bar, instead of just showing a spinner - The badge on the Processing button counts active downloads and processing together, so you always see when Feedcast is still working - Generated chapters now line up correctly on sponsor-scrubbed episodes, timestamps shift to match the removed segments - The sidebar warns you when less than 10% of your monthly chapter allowance is left, with a glance at when it resets - Upgraded chapter generation with Gemini 3.5 flash lite

- New Transcript tab in the episode view: read along while you listen, with the transcript following playback - Transcripts stay in sync on sponsor-scrubbed episodes, removed segments are hidden and timestamps adjust automatically - Autochapter now opens the untouched original media for scrubbed episodes

- A redesigned episode player with a waveform view, chapter markers, and richer playback controls - Episodes now resume where you left off, including when you open them in the chapter editor or generator - Originals kept after sponsor scrubbing are now deleted automatically after a few days to reclaim storage, with the retention period configurable in Processing settings - Keep or delete a scrubbed episode's original right from its menus - The storage dashboard now shows how much space scrubbed originals take up - Fixed subscription sync suddenly downloading large numbers of old episodes when a podcast host changes its episode identifiers

- Automatic chapter generation is now included with Feedcast Premium, with no API key to set up - Track your monthly chapter generation allowance right in Processing settings

- Import video podcasts that offer HLS streams and save them as MP4 files for playback - Choose Audio, Video, or Both when importing episodes and for video RSS subscriptions

- New Processing tab in Settings puts everything about automatic episode processing in one place - Decide how sponsors are removed with separate toggles for SponsorBlock segments and sponsor chapters, or turn removal off entirely - Pick which SponsorBlock categories get cut, right from Settings - Chapter generation can now be switched off, and your Gemini API key and chapter prompt are editable in Settings with a live key check

- New SponsorScrub action opens a dedicated window to review and cut sponsor segments out of an episode - Episodes are scrubbed automatically after import using their chapters, and Premium additionally loads community-reported segments from SponsorBlock for YouTube episodes - Sponsor removal keeps your feed links stable and updates episode duration and chapters to match the cut audio and video - The untouched original file is kept next to the scrubbed one, and the editor always shows your previous segment selection when you reopen it - Local files with a pasted YouTube link now get the full SponsorBlock treatment, just like YouTube imports

- Chapters are now generated automatically after transcription when a Gemini API key is set, and episodes that already ship with chapters are skipped - Saving chapters in the Autochapter window now embeds them into the episode audio right away - The Autochapter button shows the current progress, from transcribing to generating

- New Autochapter action opens a dedicated window with an on-device transcript of an episode - Episodes now transcribe automatically in the background after import, so the transcript is ready the moment you open Autochapter - Fixed the welcome window not closing after you finish onboarding - Fixed macOS 27 beta builds by using a local SwiftLAME package without unsafe build flags - Downloaded episode media now uses the episode title as the file name, including RSS and YouTube imports - Renaming an episode also renames its saved audio and video files so Finder exports stay easy to recognize

- Automatically turns the timestamps in an episode description into chapter markers when the episode arrives - Embeds chapters directly into the audio file, so they stay with the episode wherever it is played - Attaches the episode artwork as the default chapter image automatically - Updates the stored file size after embedding, so the published feed stays accurate - Opens a dedicated chapter editor from any episode, with a built-in audio player - Shows every chapter as a marker on the player timeline - Adds a chapter at the exact playhead position with one keyboard shortcut - Edits each chapter's start time and title inline - Jumps the player to any chapter to check the timing - Gives each chapter its own image: pick a file, drag and drop onto the row, or reuse an image already in the episode - Keeps a per-episode image library in the inspector: add, Quick Look preview, set a default, and remove images - Pastes a list of chapters from a video description and parses the timestamps - Copies your chapters back out in the same YouTube-style format - Resets chapters to the original in one step
