A new Water layer under Terrain shows lakes, rivers, streams and wetlands, with water points as you zoom in. While you record a track, the WMU on screen now updates as you cross a boundary, even with no signal. Season Summary in My Lab puts your season in numbers: outings, hours, distance, climb, weather and light. Garmin users get a redesigned watch app with a new home screen, round buttons and colour-coded pins like the ones on your phone. All your pins now go to the watch without an offline region, and the watch map keeps following you when the screen goes dark. The Offline screen now shows each watch's sync status separately, and this version includes reliability fixes for offline maps and free trials.

• Map on your Apple Watch: Wrist Sync an offline region and the watch shows its terrain, contour lines and your waypoints, with no phone or signal. A satellite map of Alberta fills in everywhere else. • Live track on your wrist: while you record, the Apple Watch and Garmin maps draw your route. Your last track stays until the next recording. • Garmin map: your waypoints now show on your Garmin's own maps, in your colour. • Hunting parties (My Lab): create a party, invite with a link, and share waypoints, tracks and areas. Teammates see them read-only, even offline. • GPS message: copy your current location or a waypoint and paste it into any messaging app. Your teammate taps the link and the pin drops on their map. • Faster map and better battery life with a connected watch. • Offline Regions fixes: the Alberta base map finishes downloading, region cards open on tap, your chosen colour shows.

DEMO ACCOUNT A demo account with full premium (Backcountry) access is provided in the credentials fields above — no purchase is needed to review any feature. There is no device limit: sign in on as many devices as you need. If you use two iPhones, the most recent sign-in holds the premium entitlement — just sign in again on the device you are testing. The app also supports guest access: tap "Get Started" on the welcome screen to explore the map without an account (Guideline 5.1.1(v)). APPLE WATCH APP The watch app is a companion to the iPhone app — the phone is the source of truth. To review it: 1. Install and sign in on the iPhone with the demo account first. 2. Open Kavik on the paired Apple Watch. It displays compass heading, altitude, legal shooting hours, and weather, and can start/stop track recording and drop waypoints — all mirrored from the phone session. The watch app intentionally shows a limited state if the phone app has never been signed in, since all data and entitlements come from the phone. WHAT CHANGED IN 1.1.1 A battery-life and reliability update. The marketing version moves from 1.1.0 to 1.1.1. - New setting, Profile → GPS Precision: choose High or Medium power for the GPS receiver while a track is recording. Medium records at about 10 m accuracy and uses less battery. It has no effect outside a recording. - Lower battery use: an idle map no longer redraws continuously, and when Kavik is in the background with no recording running it no longer keeps the GPS receiver on. - Map: a new scale and altitude readout. The Mapbox logo and attribution (ⓘ) button are always visible, and the recording accuracy toggle now sits on its own row so it never covers them. - Hunting unit (WMU) boundaries download automatically over Wi-Fi and display fully offline. - Stopping a recording on the phone asks whether to Save or Discard the track. - Waypoints dropped at your current location land exactly on the blue location dot. - Garmin companion: the compass now reads the watch's own magnetometer. No new permissions or in-app purchase products were added in this version. BACKGROUND LOCATION Background location is used solely to record the user's hiking/hunting route ("tracks") after the user explicitly starts a recording, so recording continues with the screen off in the backcountry. It stops when the user ends the track. No location is collected outside an active recording, and in this version the app also stops powering the GPS receiver whenever it is in the background without a recording. SUBSCRIPTIONS Premium tiers are under Profile → Subscriptions. Each offer displays its title, duration and price, with working Terms of Use and Privacy Policy links directly beneath it (Guideline 3.1.2). Terms of Use: https://kavik.app/terms.html — Privacy Policy: https://kavik.app/privacy.html. The demo account already has premium entitlements, so all gated features (map layers, regulations answers, watch controls) are reviewable without purchasing. CONTENT NOTE Kavik provides Alberta hunting regulation information as a planning aid and navigation/mapping tools. It does not sell or facilitate the sale of weapons. Covers 1.0.102 → 1.1.0, iOS-relevant items only: Your wrist gets a real instrument this release. • Apple Watch — a dedicated hike screen with distance and bearing, one clear way back from any screen, a wind arrow that actually points, and a single decisive Stop that waits for the real save. It keeps working with the phone in your pocket. • Garmin — redesigned home dial, a permanent compass that a hike enriches, drop a waypoint in place, and inline progress instead of full-screen waits. • Tracking — smarter GPS power use, more detail recovered from economy bursts, and a new Tracks & GPS lab to tune receiver power and retention. • Weather — a pressure reading for every forecast day, and the forecast grid now publishes before the morning hunt instead of after it. • Fixes — the heading arrow rides with your position instead of racing ahead, the map compass no longer covers an open sheet, and the offline sharing QR behaves. We have also added the pre-cached map to a low res by default so the user does not land on a black screen when offline

Kavik is now on your wrist. • NEW — Apple Watch app: start and stop track recording, drop waypoints, and glance at your compass heading, altitude, legal shooting hours, and weather — without pulling out your phone. • NEW — Garmin watch support via Connect IQ, with the same wrist controls and glances. • Tracking overhaul: honest track rendering with breadcrumbs and clear signal-gap handling, distinct start/end markers, and the map now follows you while recording. • Fixed: the position puck could freeze and the heading arrow lagged behind your movement. • Smarter waypoints: refreshed icons, better photo display, improved clustering. • Faster starts in the field: instant offline session restore and smoother sign-in. • Plus fixes and polish across maps, weather, and sheets throughout the app. Questions or field reports: kavik@wildlogiclab.com
